🎥 Looking back on Moukoko's Revierderby goal as Dortmund bids farewell

Among continental rivalries, there are few better - and more heated - than Dortmund vs Schalke.
Bitter adversaries to their core, a hotly contested Revierderby has long been one of the highlights of the German footballing calendar; just ask Youssoufa Moukoko.

The former Dortmund starlet and academy product is officially on his way to Danish stalwarts FC København after completing his move away from the Ruhr Valley.
Though his career with the German giants fell well short of expectations at the Westfalenstadion, Moukoko and fans alike can look back fondly on some key moments, including a goal against Die Königsblauen back in 2022.
On that day, the 17-year-old's leaping header in the 78th minute was the lone strike of the match at Dortmund's vaunted ground, with the German youth international rising above Maya Yashida to head Marius Wolf's whipped cross past Alexander Schwolow.

Moukoko would go on to score seven Bundesliga goals that season; a career-best. And though he never hit the heights so many hoped he would, everybody loves a late bloomer.

Liverpool Transfer News: Double-deal derails £50m playmaker move

Liverpool had been hoping to agree a transfer with RB Leipzig for one of the club's brightest talents on the basis that one of the German club's big stars is likely to join Chelsea this summer. However, the latest update suggests that Leipzig have decided to turn their attention elsewhere. 🔴 Shop the LFC 2025/26 adidas home range 🚨2025/26 LFC x adidas range🚨 LFC x adidas Shop the home range today! LFC x adidas Shop the goalkeeper range today LFC x adidas Shop the new adidas range today! The player in question is Harvey Elliott, who has seemingly been pushed out of Liverpool, despite having a really impressive start to his career on Merseyside. His performances in the first team have been positive but our transfer business has meant that his game time is increasingly limited. 🔴 Winning the U21 Euros looked to be the catalyst for an expensive move away, since he won the player of the tournament award, but none of his linked clubs appear to be interested anymore. Reports coming out of Leipzig now suggest that a new target has been pivoted to instead of him. Leipzig and Chelsea double-deal It always looked likely that Xavi Simons would join Chelsea, despite the illustrious depth they have in attacking areas. Enzo Marseca used six forwards throughout the Blues' 0-0 draw to Crystal Palace on the weekend and still no breakthrough came. As such, the Dutchman's move is likely to happen. That would have left Leipzig with a creative hole in their team and plenty of money to spend on a replacement, with interest having been lodged in Elliott, although no actual bid has been made. In Tuesday's dealsheet from The Athletic, it was understood that the Englishman remained a potential replacement for Simons, although his move has now been significantly derailed. The update stems from David Ornstein's understanding that Leipzig are now looking at bringing Christopher Nkunku back to the club, with talks stepping up with Chelsea for a permanent move. In his report, he said: "A deal for Nkunku to return to Leipzig is not considered close at this stage, and other forward options remain in play for the forward. The 27-year-old has been expected to leave this summer, with The Athletic reporting in November that he was not happy at the club." However, this move appears to make sense for all parties, except for the fact that the German club are swapping a 22-year-old for a player five years older, which is a bold decision given how young the current Leipzig squad is. You feel it's a bit of an opportunistic move to revive Nkunku's career. It would represent a double-deal between Leipzig and Chelsea, with one attacking player moving in order to make room for the other to take his place, with the finances for the moves relatively similar. Elliott will likely be stuck without a move this summer if the deal goes through since Liverpool hold the player in high esteem, especially since his campaign in the Euros last season, although where Arne Slot will play him this season, if at all, is going to cause headaches since he was set to leave. The player's desire to succeed at Liverpool has never been in doubt, to the extent that he was only considering a move away from Merseyside because it appeared to be the best decision for his career, rather than because he wants to leave. The fans and his teammates mean everything to him. As such, we're in a sticky situation. Of course, having a player of his talent to utilise this season is going to help bolster the side, he just wasn't in the initial plans which means Slot might have to rethink his tactical approach if a new suitor in the transfer market can't be found before September 1.

Luis Diaz reveals Florian Wirtz talks before leaving Liverpool

Luis Diaz has revealed that he spoke to Florian Wirtz about his transfer to Bayern Munich, describing the move from Liverpool as a 'big gamble'. The Colombian winger joined Bundesliga champions this summer in a deal worth £65.5 million (€75m), just months after helping the Reds win the Premier League title. Diaz found the net on his Bayern debut this past weekend, scoring what was ultimately the winning goal against Stuttgart in the DFL-Supercup. 'I'm very happy and pleased with how this weekend went,' the 28-year-old told ESPN. 'As you pointed out, it was my first official match, my first goal, and my first title. I dreamed of coming here to achieve great things and give my best. I try to enjoy football. 'It was a big gamble and I'm very grateful to the management for reaching out to me and trusting me. It's always up to me to respond on the pitch and contribute with what I know how to do. To be at the disposal of the coaching staff. To start this way and be together with my teammates is incredible.' Wirtz joined the Merseyside outfit from Bayer Leverkusen for a club record £116m transfer fee including add-ons. 'I already had some knowledge of the Bundesliga,' Diaz said. 'I love watching football and all the competitions. I had the opportunity to talk to Florian in Liverpool, and I know it's a physical league. I hope to have a great debut. I've been here at the club for about two weeks, and I need time to settle in.' Diaz dedicated his goal against Stuttgart to former Liverpool teammate Diogo Jota, who perished in a car accident last month alongside his younger brother, André Silva. 'It's brutal,' Diaz reflected. 'The fact that he's no longer with us and that we've lost an incredible teammate is unbelievable. No one is prepared to receive this kind of news and feel okay when faced with a situation like this. 'He was a great teammate to me. We will remember him fondly. He will live on in our memories, and being able to dedicate the goal to him is something special. I had planned to do so.' Report – Inter Milan Quoted A Substantial €60M Price Tag For Borussia Dortmund Midfielder

Inter Milan have reportedly approached Borussia Dortmund to gather information about Felix Nmecha. According to Corriere dello Sport via FCInter1908, the German giants have immediately named their price. Felix Nmecha has enjoyed a rise to stardom since swapping Wolfsburg for Dortmund in the summer of 2023. Therefore, he has become one of Die Borussen's most influential first-team figures. Unwilling to lose another quality player this summer, the club has slapped a mammoth €60 price tag on their prized asset. (Photo by) With talks over Manu Kone's transfer from Roma hitting a standstill, Inter are scouring the market for midfield reinforcements. However, securing Nmecha's services could prove impossible, given Dortmund's excessive asking price. Meanwhile, Inter could also reignite their interest in Atalanta star Ederson. Like Nmecha, the Brazilian commands a premium price, with La Dea reluctant to sell him for less than €45 million. Yet, Nmecha feels like a better fit, considering his versatility allows him to cover multiple spots in the middle of the field. Indeed, he can play deep in the midfield. He is equally well-versed in taking a more advanced role. Therefore, he would perfectly fit into Cristian Chivu's system.
