The Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship and Jordan Post Company have signed a Memorandum of Understanding aimed at supporting home-based business owners through the 'Khayrat Al-Dar' platform by providing logistical solutions and integrated payment services at preferential rates, enhancing growth and expansion opportunities for these groups within a sustainable and stimulating digital environment. اضافة اعلان The MoU was signed by the Minister of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship, Eng. Sami Samirat, and the Chairman of Jordan Post Company, Sami Daoud, in the presence of Secretary-General of the Ministry, Samira Al-Zoubi, and the Director General of Jordan Post Company, Hanadi Al-Tayyeb. Under the agreement, Jordan Post will provide product delivery services inside and outside Jordan, in addition to express delivery services, offering three flexible payment methods: the Jordan Post payment card, domestic money transfer services, and cash payment at post office branches. The MoU also includes provisions for cooperation in promotion and marketing, including allocating display spaces for products in selected post offices, promotion via Jordan Post's mobile application and social media platforms, and organizing exhibitions and sales events across various governorates. The agreement also covers the operation of Jordan Post's delivery app and the creation of job opportunities for youth, with priority given to the children of home-based business owners. For its part, the Ministry will promote the services and preferential prices provided by Jordan Post through the 'Khayrat Al-Dar' platform as part of its efforts to broaden the benefits of these services to small projects. This agreement strengthens public sector partnerships and national institutions, with a focus on creating new economic opportunities across all governorates of the Kingdom—especially for youth and women. The Minister of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship emphasized that this step represents an effective model of integration between the public sector and national institutions. It contributes to empowering small projects and opening new growth horizons within a secure and encouraging digital environment, while also allowing entrepreneurs and startups to benefit from a wide network of partners and support services offered by Jordan Post.
For his part, the Chairman of Jordan Post Company expressed pride in this collaboration, affirming the company's commitment to expanding and adapting its services in line with digital transformation requirements by providing advanced delivery solutions that support entrepreneurship and emerging businesses, and promote economic and social development across the Kingdom.

The Civil Status and Passports Department (CSPD) has signed a cooperation agreement with the Jordan Post Company to provide a new service for the delivery of electronic passports, which will begin pilot issuance starting 1st September. اضافة اعلان Ghassan Ghazi Al-Tayyeb, Director General of the CSPD, confirmed that this step supports the electronic passport project and enhances the digital transformation of government services, in addition to strengthening the digital services infrastructure. He noted that Jordan Post will be responsible for delivering the passports to citizens within a maximum of 72 hours from the date of application submission, to the address specified by the applicant. The delivery service will cost 3 Jordanian dinars, payable to Jordan Post, and will include the delivery of the electronic passport to the specified address. Al-Tayyeb added that Jordan Post employees will cancel the old passport upon the delivery of the new electronic one, in accordance with the Passport Law and its applicable regulations. For her part, Hanadi Al-Tayyeb, Director General of Jordan Post, emphasized that the company has become a strategic partner in national projects that directly impact citizens' daily lives, including its cooperation with the CSPD. She explained that Jordan Post will establish a comprehensive delivery network to ensure passports are delivered accurately, supported by a precise tracking system. She added that the company aims to facilitate access to services across all regions of the Kingdom and to support government efforts in digital transformation, saving citizens time and effort. Jordan Post operates in various governorates and remote areas, and its staff is well-qualified to deliver passports in full compliance with CSPD legal requirements.

Kingdom's revenues rise by JD164.7m as public debt drops below 91% of GDP

AMMAN — The Kingdom's domestic revenues increased by approximately JD164.7 million in the first half of 2025, reaching JD4.669 billion compared with JD4.504 billion during the same period last year. Public debt totalled around JD35.3 billion by the end of June 2025, equivalent to 90.9 per cent of GDP, down from 92.7 per cent in May, according to the Jordan news agency, Petra. This reduction followed the Ministry of Finance's repayment of USD1 billion in maturing Eurobonds in June, funded through concessional loans secured in March and April at a competitive interest rate of 4.8 per cent, Petra said. The ministry highlighted that this strategy avoided issuing new Eurobonds, which under current exceptional global and regional conditions could have carried interest rates of up to 9 per cent.
