Fire chief leaves West Sussex for new role in Hampshire
"I am incredibly proud of the time that I spent at West Sussex Fire & Rescue Service, where I was equally as privileged to work with some incredible people as we worked together to deliver the Service's improvement plan," she said."It is with a heavy heart that I leave the service, but know that I am leaving it in safe hands and I take with me many fond memories and friendships."Prior to joining the service in 2001 aged 18, Ms Cohen-Hatton was homeless for three years and would sell the Big Issue magazine.It was during her telling selling the magazine that she developed a curiosity to serve in the fire service, to help people when they needed it most.In her time working in the fire sector, Ms Cohen-Hatton has completed numerous secondments, including to the Welsh Government and His Majesty's Inspectorate of Constabulary and Fire & Rescue Services.She has also collected awards, including the King's Fire Service Medal for distinguished service and gallantry.Neil Odin, who is stepping down as CFO in Hampshire and the Isle of Wight, said: "Sabrina will bring a fresh outlook, strong leadership skills, and invaluable experience, ensuring the service continues to adapt, improve and thrive."

Test Valley residents to get food caddies ahead of collections
Households will start receiving food caddies and a starter roll of liners as a council prepares for its first food waste Valley Borough Council in Hampshire are giving most households a 23-litre kerbside caddy that will be emptied by teams using its new specialist collection households will be given a five litre kitchen caddy to help people collect their food waste, with weekly collections set to start in the week commencing 13 caddy deliveries will start from 26 August and are likely to take about seven weeks to complete, the authority said. Gateshead residents 'isolated' by lack of X32 buses
People living on a suburban estate say they feel isolated because their local bus does not operate late enough into the evening and not at all on Sundays and bank in Lobley Hill want the X32, which would take them into Gateshead town or Newcastle city centre, to extend its service Go North East said most residents were still within "easy walking distance of a regularly served bus stop in the evenings". But Angela Lennox, 60, said that bus stop was on the other side of the estate and, if she and her elderly mother wanted to get there, she would have to walk 20 minutes uphill pushing her wheelchair. Miss Lennox said they felt house-bound on bank holidays."If it's a nice day and we're wanting to go down to the beach, I can't get out to do that unless I pay for a taxi or somebody comes and picks me up in a car," she said. The last X32 that goes to Lobley Hill leaves Newcastle at 18:18 on Lennox said the lack of services meant her elderly neighbours no longer see their friends at nearby social clubs or Jo Moody, 43, said some on the estate were "completely dependent" on the route."The residents who are not able to get themselves to the main road are basically cut off and they can't get anywhere, they can't get to any shops, visit relatives," she said. Labour councillor Kevin Dodd, who set up a petition on behalf of residents, said: "People are in essence under a curfew."Imagine finishing a late-night shift, attending an evening class, or simply wanting to enjoy a social outing on a Saturday night, only to discover that your return options are astonishingly limited," he North East business director Ben Maxfield said on weekday evenings "nearby services X72 and 301 continue to run along the A692, meaning most residents are still within easy walking distance of a regularly served bus stop".He said the company would listen to local feedback and consider ways to improve evening links to the estate in future network reviews.
