On Saturday night, the Great Masked Ball brought together 2,500 costumed revelers, who partied until dawn from the iconic Orangerie to the Ballroom Grove, an amphitheater of greenery laid out in the grandiose gardens designed by André Le Nôtre.
This year's theme — Animal is the Future — fused dance performances, DJ sets, and vibrant visuals, captivating a crowd required to be fully costumed and masked to gain entry and entertain themselves.

Dana White says UFC fight on the White House lawn is 'absolutely' happening
A UFC fight at the White House looks primed to take place on the Fourth of July next year. 'It's absolutely going to happen,' UFC CEO and President Dana White told The Associated Press in a story published Aug. 12. White's comments come on the heels of a billion-dollar deal to bring UFC to CBS that was announced on Monday, Aug. 11. The agreement will give CBS and streaming service Paramount+ exclusive rights to broadcast 30 UFC Fight Nights and 13 marquee events each year beginning 2026, which could include the Fourth of July brawl at the White House. 'Think about that, the 250th birthday of the United States of America, the UFC will be on the White House south lawn live on CBS," White told the AP. White is scheduled to travel to Washington, D.C. on Aug. 28 to meet with Trump and his daughter, Ivanka, to discuss plans for the fight, the AP reported. The deal between UFC and CBS was announced just days after the network and Skydance officially closed an $8 billion merger and doubles the annual value of UFC's current U.S. rights deal with ESPN+, according to reporting from Sportico. The deal also signals the end of the existing pay-per-view model currently utilized by the UFC. "Every one of our national park battlefields and historic sites are going to have special events in honor of America 250," Trump said. "And I even think we're going to have a UFC fight. We're going to have a UFC fight on the grounds of the White House." "Championship fight − full fight," he added. Trump, no stranger to the mixed martial arts scene, has attended multiple events in the past, including UFC 309 at Madison Square Garden after winning the 2024 presidential election. White also introduced Trump on the stage on the final night of the 2024 Republican National Convention in Milwaukee. The first UFC fight held under the ownership of White and his partners was held at the Trump Taj Mahal in Atlantic City. Trump "gave us our start when nobody would talk to us," White told Fox News in 2018. Trump's White House staff has ties to the mixed martial arts organization. After his campaign win in November 2024, Trump named Steven Cheung, a former UFC spokesperson, as the White House communications director. 4 arrests after home reportedly owned by Brad Pitt was ransacked by burglars, police say
LOS ANGELES (AP) — Four people have been arrested in connection with a burglary earlier this summer at a Los Angeles home reportedly owned by actor Brad Pitt, police said Tuesday. Officers responded June 25 to a break-in at the house in LA's Los Feliz neighborhood. Police said at the time that suspects broke in through the front window, ransacked the home and fled with miscellaneous property. Detectives have made four arrests, Officer Drake Madison said Tuesday. He said the suspects' names could be released later in the day. Officials could not identify who owned or lived in the home, and no information was available on what was stolen. Pitt reportedly bought the property for $5.5 million in April 2023, according to Traded, a commercial real estate website. Pitt had been out of the country in June on a globe-spanning promotional tour for his new movie, 'F1.'

Emma Stone and Nicolas Ghesquière's Real-Life Friendship Takes Center Stage in Vogue's September Issue
What better time to try something larger than life than the September issue? For Nicolas Ghesquière, that meant creating a miniature Louis Vuitton collection of couture-like caliber, exclusively for Vogue. And who better to wear these one-of-a-kind garments than our cover star, and the designer's longtime friend, Emma Stone? 'Whatever he does is special and surprising and exquisite,' Grace Coddington, the shoot's fashion editor, says of Ghesquière, 'but this was somewhat on another level because it was couture, which is something he hasn't tried before.' While Ghesquière worked closely with Vogue to bring the looks to life for Stone's Avignon shoot, the looks came, as Coddington puts it, from 'him and a dream.' Ghesquière created six distinct, handcrafted looks for Stone's cover shoot—six different characters for her to embody. 'Who will this be?' asks Stone, dressed in a beaded, high-neck dress with draped, wing-like sleeves. 'The idea was to imagine she was a charismatic leader of a ballet academy,' Ghesquière says of the dress, aptly dubbed 'The Ballerina.' 'She is a great dancer,' he adds of Stone, 'I wanted to express that in the movement.' Also among the duo's roster of characters: 'The Driver,' a leather jumpsuit meant for boundary-breakers, which Stone wore to galivant on the roof of the Palais des Papes; 'The Innocent,' a knit jumpsuit with tiers of ruffles, represents Stone's open-hearted approach to acting, namely her Oscar-winning role as Bella in in Poor Things; 'The Host' a black playsuit with a sculptural sweetheart bust, casts the actor as the host of an imaginary cabaret, inspired by Ghesquière and Stone's real-life friendship. For the pair, the shoot is a full-circle moment, another chapter in their long history. 'The things that he's designed took me through my wedding day, took me through big moments in my life,' Stone says of her long friendship with Ghesquière.
