Google also introduced Pixelsnap, a new magnetic technology like Apple's MagSafe that comes built into all Pixel 10 devices. This means users will now be able to effortlessly snap wireless chargers, stands, grips and other accessories. The tech giant also said that the new Pixel 10 series phones support wireless charging speeds up to 25W.
Google announced a new AI feature to help users take better photos using the Pixel 10. Camera Coach uses Gemini to provide Pixel owners with tips such as the best angles and lighting for taking a photo in real-time.
In addition, it also unveiled a new conversational photo editing tool that allows users to verbally tell Gemini what they want to change in a photo, whether it is increasing the brightness, removing objects, or changing the background.
Google demoed another AI feature called Magic Cue that lets users take quick action across apps like Gmail, Calendar, Messages, and Screenshots by accessing relevant information. In Wednesday's live demo, Google showed how Magic Cue can pull hotel reservation details and suggest a ready-to-send message to a friend asking about dinner plans tonight. Users can send the message in just one click. It can also be used to suggest sharing photos or other info directly in Messages.
Cue runs securely via the Tensor G5 chip and Gemini Nano, giving users control over data access and the ability to toggle it on or off, as per Google.
Google is also bringing an AI-powered health coach to the Fitbit app. The coach creates tailored workout plans, adapts routines in real time, and offers sleep improvement tips. Launching in October this year, the new feature will be part of the redesigned Fitbit app and work with Pixel watches as well as Fitbit trackers and wearables.

Although that effort failed, tech companies successfully influenced White House advisers to version of the federal moratorium on state regulation in Trump's AI plan released in July, as per the report. R Systems acquires Mangaluru-based Novigo for 400 crore
Bengaluru: The acquisition of Novigo Solutions by Blackstone-backed R Systems marks the third major buyout of a Mangaluru-headquartered tech firm in recent years, firmly placing the coastal city—and its neighbour Udupi—on India's technology M&A map. R Systems said on Thursday that it will acquire Novigo Solutions for an upfront cash payout of Rs 400 crore, with additional stock consideration tied to future performance milestones, a stock exchange filing showed. A source familiar with the deal told TOI that the total transaction value is estimated to be around Rs 950 crore. Emails sent to R Systems and Novigo Solutions did not receive responses by press time. Founded by Praveen Kumar Kalbhavi, Mohammed Hanif, Mohammed Jarood, and Shihab Kalandar, Novigo offers low-code/no-code development and intelligent automation services to clients across BFSI, hi-tech, and manufacturing sectors. The company reported Rs 264 crore in revenue for the 2024-25 financial year, with an EBITDA margin of 25%. It has a 1,000-strong workforce, primarily based in Mangaluru. Niveus, with around 1,000 engineers, specializes in Google Cloud Platform services, focusing on modernisation, data engineering, and AI. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Use an AI Writing Tool That Actually Understands Your Voice Grammarly Install Now Undo NTT Data said the acquisition strengthened its position as one of the largest global system integrators for Google Cloud. Niveus had built a strong presence across financial services, automotive, retail, and logistics. This acquisition streak began in August 2021, when TechnoPro Holdings of Japan acquired Robosoft Technologies, based in Udupi, in a Rs 805 crore two-phase deal. Founded in 1996 by Rohith Bhat, Robosoft counted Apple as its first client and later worked with Disney, Warner Bros Pictures, Paytm, and Heineken. At the time of that deal, Robosoft had about 1,000 employees, including 600 in Udupi. TechnoPro said the acquisition expanded its customer base in Japan, while Robosoft's leadership described it as validation that a global-scale digital services company could be built and exited from a small coastal town. Together, the three acquisitions—Robosoft in 2021, Niveus in 2024, and Novigo in 2025—underscore how Mangaluru and Udupi are emerging as significant hubs of value creation in India's tech industry. Each deal was valued at over Rs 800 crore, positioning the coastal belt alongside larger metros in producing companies that attract global strategic buyers. Recently, industries minister MB Patil shared on X that Foxconn, Apple's Taiwanese contract manufacturer, officially started production of iPhone 17 at its new facility in Devanahalli. TOI earlier reported that beginning with June quarter, India is poised to become the primary manufacturing hub for iPhones sold in the US. As Apple restructures its global supply chain in response to reciprocal tariff measures by the US government — particularly targeting imports from China — the company is increasingly turning to India as a key alternative. Apple CEO Tim Cook confirmed the shift during the company's quarterly earnings call. "For the June quarter, we do expect the majority of iPhones sold in US will have India as their country of origin," Cook said. Apple India has also leased around 2.7 lakh sqft of office space in Bengaluru for 10 years, with a starting monthly rent of Rs 6.3 crore, according to data analytics firm Propstack. The iPhone maker is estimated to pay more than Rs 1,000 crore in rent, car park and maintenance charges over 10 years. Stay updated with the latest local news from your city on Times of India (TOI).
