First look at ITV's The Hack starring David Tennant
ITV shared pictures from the show during the first look at the series this morning (August 4).
Pictures show David Tennant in his role as Guardian journalist Nick Davies, Robert Carlyle, who will play DCS Dave Cook, and Toby Jones, playing Guardian editor Alan Rusbridger.
The cast also includes Steve Pemberton, Eve Myles, Dougray Scott, Lisa McGrillis and Adrian Lester, among others.
Fans have been sharing their excitement after the first look was shared.
One described the cast as "fantastic", while another said: "David Tennant and Robert Carlyle in the same show, definitely watching this."
"The talent in that cast," another said, with a fourth writing: "I can't wait for this."
The series will be set between 2002 and 2012, telling two stories.
One being the work of investigative journalist Nick Davies, played by David Tennant, who found evidence of journalists at News of the World using phone hacking.
The other will detail the investigation into the murder of Daniel Morgan, a private investigator, which was led by Robert Carlyle's character DCS Dave Cook.
What was the phone hacking scandal?
The News of the World was a weekly tabloid newspaper in the UK that was published every Sunday from 1843 to 2011.
Investigations conducted from 2005 to 2007 showed that phone hacking by the now-defunct newspaper was targeted at celebrities, politicians, and even members of the royal family.
Toby Jones will play Guardian editor Alan Rusbridger in The Hack (Image: ITV) In 2011, it was also revealed that the phones of murdered schoolgirl Milly Dowler were hacked, as well as relatives of deceased British soldiers and victims of the 7/7 London bombings.
It was discovered that journalists would gain unauthorised access to people's voicemails, typically to get information for stories, with The News of the World, and its owner Rupert Murdoch, at the centre of the scandal.
The scandal saw Rupert Murdoch's News of the World shut down, with journalist Andy Coulson and former private detective Glenn Mulcaire jailed for it.

Princess Andre shares sad reason she couldn't speak to dad Peter about mum Katie Price
Katie Price and Peter Andre's daughter Princess has revealed that she cried herself to sleep instead of speaking to her dad about her mum's issues Princess Andre has revealed the sad reason why she couldn't speak to her dad Peter Andre about her mum Katie Price following their bitter divorce. In her brand-new ITV series, The Princess Diaries, which airs on Sunday night on ITV, the influencer and model, 18, is set to open up about how her parents' estranged relationship has affected her through her childhood and teenage years. Earlier this summer, Princess announced the exciting news of the ITV show, which will offer a behind-the-scenes look into her life and burgeoning career as a model, focusing on her relationship with her family. It comes after her mum Katie, 47, revealed that Princess has moved out in another swipe at ex Peter. In the first episode of her reality TV series, Princess opened up about why she felt she could never speak to her dad, Peter, 52, about her mum following their bitter split and the fact they haven't spoken in years. During the episode, Princess speaks to her mum on the phone while she's away on holiday in Dubai. After the call, Princess admitted that she and her famous mum are more alike that people would think and revealed that they are now closer than ever - with her mum even baring all on FaceTime. "She had her boobs out," Princess laughed. "She's just casually out of the shower with her top off. Like, she just doesn't care. I never answer the phone to my mum when I'm around people. Because when she's on the phone, she's so unpredictable. "She just lives life. She actually doesn't care and I actually really, really, look up to that. I would love to have that mindset of 'I don't care', because deep down I always do care. I won't show any emotion but then I'll get to my bed and I'll cry and cry and cry. "On my own, I don't handle it very well but to other people I would seem to fine and so good." Princess went on to address not being able to talk to her dad Peter about her mum as she revealed that she has been in counselling. "I do have a counsellor and I do sometimes see her every now and again. But I don't feel like I can really ever talk so I just write everything down in my notes. I do wish that I could have had a more happier childhood," Princess admitted. The 18-year-old told the cameras that she had 'so much on her plate' when it came to navigating her childhood with two famous parents who didn't get along. The influencer went on: "I had so many things on my plate at such a young age. "I wish sometimes that it wasn't like that and I could have actually enjoyed it and not had things in the back of my mind so young. Obviously, I had amazing times in my childhood, I have so many amazing memories with my mum and my dad, but I also have lots of not-so-good memories of the time when my mum and Kieran split up." Katie and Kieran officially split in May 2018. While they were married from 2013 to 2021, they separated in 2018, with Katie accusing Kieran of cheating. The divorce proceedings were finalised three years later, in 2021 and the former couple share two children Jett and Bunny. "It happened when I was ten years old and he was in our lives for like five years. So, we got really close to him and obviously we loved him, but he did a lot of stuff and when they split up, everything kind of went downhill with my mum obviously being heartbroken. "She didn't deal with that in the best way. She went through a very, very, dark time which is understandable. But it was hard for me because I was around adult things that kids should never see. "And I think when we needed our mum there, she wasn't emotionally able to be there because she had so much of her own problems going on." Princess then confessed that she would bottle up her emotions in public but cry alone at home because she felt she was never able to open up to her dad about how she was feeling, because it was all down to her mum's actions and sadness. "I remember coming home from school, and I would literally just cry in bed at 11 years old. I would never go speak to my dad about it because the way I've grown up, I obviously know that my mum and my dad don't like each other, which is fair enough, they are not going to. "I could speak about my childhood and everything that happened and I would be absolutely fine, but then, once something sets me off, and when I actually deep everything, it makes me realise. Then it makes me think that maybe I'm still not over everything, and I'm still not healed from what has happened. "I wouldn't say I'm fully recovered from it, but mum is such a different person now. If you compare her now to how she was back then, she has genuinely really fixed herself. She has apologised to me and I never wanted an apology from her but I think it meant a lot that she kind of acknowledged it. "We're so close now and we do a lot of things together and we talk all the time. I love her. She's like my best friend." The Princess Diaries debuts on ITV2 at 9pm on Sunday.

Electrical engineer Jamie Rhodes, 26, came third with commercial banking executive Yasmin Pettet, 24, while Angel Swift, a 26-year-old aesthetics practitioner who entered the villa as a bombshell, came in fourth place with site engineer Ty Isherwood, 23. A post shared by Love Island (@loveisland) Host Maya Jama revealed the winning couple for season 12 of the reality dating show during Monday night's live final. After their names were called, Toni embraced Cach before she thanked the British public for voting for them. Prior to the reveal Toni confirmed that Cach told her he loved her the night before – and that she had said it back. Along with the 2025 title, the couple also took home a £50,000 cash prize. Earlier in the episode the Love Island couples exchanged emotional words to one another. Toni, who was visibly emotional when making her speech, told Cach: 'I don't think I tell you enough, but the way you treat me has made this whole wacky ass experience worth it. 'I think everyone has seen how happy you've made me, and I feel like a different person. I'm just really thankful to be here with you. 'I don't think anyone's ever treated me as good as you do so thank you. You make me feel like a queen.' A post shared by Love Island (@loveisland) Cach replied: 'I'm proud of you. You're gonna make me cry. You're so unapologetically yourself. It makes it so easy for you to operate the way I operate. 'I feel like our journey has been a roller coaster. I'm grateful for every moment. 'I don't think I could have done it with anybody else, to be honest with you, and I appreciate you.' Shakira told Harry that he was 'everything' she could want in a partner. She added: 'It's been an amazing last week and I'm excited for the future.' Harry replied and said: 'People say days are like weeks in here, but it really felt like I've known you a lifetime, and I'm so excited for the future, and I'll make so much time for you on the outside. 'My priorities have definitely shifted. You are my priority in life right now, so long may that continue.' Yasmin told Jamie that he became her 'sense of calm'. A post shared by Love Island (@loveisland) 'I don't tell you enough, but I'm so genuinely appreciative of you and everything you've done for me in here because my journey would be so, so shit without you,' she added. Jamie replied: 'Every day, I get a feeling of wanting to be around you more and more and knowing that this journey is coming to an end, that we won't be able to spend every second with each other, it's gonna make me really miss this place, but I know that on the outside world, we've got some great things coming.' Angel recalled having a 'spark' with Ty from the very beginning, adding that he is 'so thoughtful'. She said: 'I can't wait for outside life with you. I literally couldn't be happier.' Ty replied: 'I want to thank you and the Love Island gods for sending you in. 'I kind of didn't know where I was, and kind of lost myself a bit. I couldn't find my feet and I feel like you came at the perfect time.' Previous Love Island winners have included Ekin-Su Culculoglu and Davide Sanclimenti (Season 8), Jack Fincham and Dani Dyer (Season 4), Kem Cetinay and Amber Davies (Season 3), who have since split up. Couples who, despite not winning, remain together include Olivia Buckland and Alex Bowen (Season 2), Molly-Mae Hague and Tommy Fury (Season 5) and Dami Hope and Indiyah Polack (Season 8).
