At least 31 people were killed and around 200 others injured in Gaza on Wednesday after the Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) opened fire near a food distribution site, according to the territory's civil defense agency.
Mahmud Bassal, a spokesperson for Gaza's civil defense, said the incident took place as thousands of people gathered to receive humanitarian assistance.
"We transported at least 31 martyrs and about 200 wounded as a result of Israeli tank and drone fire on thousands of citizens... on their way to receive food from the American aid centre," Bassal told Agence France-Presse (AFP).

Hamas: Israel deliberately severed all Gaza communications

Hamas issued a statement on Thursday accusing the Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) of intentionally severing communication lines in the Gaza Strip, calling it a deliberate and dangerous escalation in what it described as an ongoing campaign of genocide against Palestinians. According to the group's press release, the communications blackout is part of a broader effort by 'Israel' to 'paralyze vital sectors,' particularly targeting the already-fragile medical and humanitarian systems within the besieged enclave. 'The criminal Zionist occupation army has deliberately cut communication lines—yet another aggressive step in the ongoing genocidal war it is waging against our Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip,' the statement read. Hamas warned that this latest move threatens to intensify the already dire humanitarian crisis facing civilians, many of whom are trapped without access to medical care, aid, or emergency services. The group also called on the international community to take immediate action. 'We in the Hamas movement warn of the escalating threat to our people… and call on the international community to assume its responsibility in stopping the aggression,' the statement added, urging world powers to ensure the protection of civilians and humanitarian infrastructure from what it called the 'brutality of the fascist Zionist occupation.'

Hamas: Israel turned Gaza aid points into mass killing zones

The Hamas movement has accused Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) of committing fresh massacres near humanitarian aid distribution points in the Gaza Strip, claiming that at least 26 Palestinians were killed at dawn while waiting for food assistance. In a statement issued on Thursday, Hamas alleged that the aid drop sites, coordinated under a US-'Israeli' mechanism, have become 'daily death traps' for civilians in desperate need of food and supplies, particularly in southern Gaza and western Rafah. 'These points have effectively become daily death traps targeting innocent, starving civilians,' the group said, asserting that nearly 250 people have been killed in similar incidents around these centers since their establishment. Thousands more have reportedly been wounded. The group's press release described the killings as part of a 'systematic, brutal policy of genocide,' citing continued airstrikes on residential neighborhoods and displacement camps as evidence. Hamas accused the 'Israeli' government, led by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, of weaponizing humanitarian aid as 'a tool for killing, abuse, and humiliation.' Calling on the international community to intervene, the statement urged global institutions to put an end to the 'barbaric mechanism' and to hold 'Israel' accountable for what Hamas labeled as 'sadistic criminal behavior.'

US issues security warning to embassy staff in 'Israel'

The US State Department has issued a security alert to its personnel in 'Israel' amid growing concerns that 'Israel' may be preparing to launch a strike on Iran's nuclear infrastructure. The State Department has authorized the departure of some embassy staff in Iraq, while the Pentagon approved the voluntary evacuation of military families stationed at US bases across the region. The precautionary steps are being taken as intelligence officials warn that 'Israel' could move forward with a unilateral strike, one that would not only undermine months of US-led diplomatic efforts, but could also trigger retaliatory attacks against American assets in the region. President Donald Trump, who had previously expressed optimism about reaching a deal with Tehran, appeared far less certain this week. 'I'm less confident now than I would have been a couple of months ago. Something happened to them, but I am much less confident of a deal being made,' he told the New York Post. The US government has instructed embassies within the potential range of Iranian reprisals, including those in the Middle East, Eastern Europe, and North Africa, to activate emergency planning teams and report risk mitigation strategies back to Washington. This led Secretary of State Marco Rubio to green-light a partial drawdown of staff in Iraq. 'We are constantly assessing the appropriate personnel posture at all our embassies,' said a State Department official, speaking on condition of anonymity. 'Based on our latest analysis, we decided to reduce the footprint of our mission in Iraq.'
