Popular Florida beach tells spring breakers to take a hike
As spring break season continues, Panama City Beach, one of the country's most popular spring break towns, is telling visitors they're not wanted.
The city's police chief said they are displeased with the behavior of many people who have already visited Panama City Beach this year.
Police Chief J.R. Talamantez declared that Panama City Beach 'can no longer be a Spring Break town.
'That time is over,' he said in a recent social media post.

Talamantez said they have seen instances of people firing gunshots over 'social media drama.'
'If you came with guns, bad intentions, and no respect for this city, we saw you,' Talamantez stated in the post. 'You thought you could blend in and get away with it. You were wrong. Our officers were ready, and many of you ended up in handcuffs.'
As Spring Break season began ramping up, Talamantez issued a strict warning to those coming to the area: follow the law or face the consequences.
He said the city would be instituting strict rules, including a curfew, security checkpoints and trespassing enforcement.

Dear Spring Breakers and Our Community,
Let me start by thanking those who did things the right way.
To the future doctors, nurses, engineers, teachers, and leaders who came here for a break, you're appreciated. You made memories, enjoyed the beach, and showed respect. Most of you went home without problems, and that's exactly how it should be.
Now to the others, the ones who came here to bring trouble.
If you came with guns, bad intentions, and no respect for this city, we saw you. You thought you could blend in and get away with it. You were wrong. Our officers were ready, and many of you ended up in handcuffs.
Some of you fired shots over petty arguments and social media drama. And when the cuffs went on, the tough act disappeared. Our officers didn't see hardened criminals. They saw scared kids crying in the interview room. TikTok doesn't show that part, but our body cameras do.
To our community—here's where I stand.
Panama City Beach can no longer be a Spring Break town. That time is over. Every year we try to manage it, and every year it brings more challenges. I'm not willing to risk the safety of our city to hold onto something that no longer works.
And let me be clear, our law enforcement officers should not be expected to shoulder the burden of an event that no longer aligns with the values or vision of this community. It's unfair to continue placing that weight on the backs of the men and women who serve and protect this city every day.
In the coming weeks, we will be having serious discussions with stakeholders and city leadership about the future of the Spring Break season. I'm confident they share this same concern. No plan will fix this overnight, but we have to start somewhere. And we have to start now.
Panama City Beach is a safe, family-focused community. We've worked too hard to build that, and I won't let a group of criminals destroy it.
To the good visitors, you'll always be welcome.
To the idiots, go somewhere else.

The idea for his content came to him while wandering around the housing project where his family lived in Chivasso, near Turin, after losing his factory mechanic's job in March 2020. Khaby Lame, the world's most popular TikToker, has posted several times on social media since ICE confirmed detaining him. According to a statement ICE emailed Men's Journal on June 7, the agency detained Lame on accusations of immigration violations in Nevada but let him voluntarily leave the country. You wouldn't know that from his social media pages, though, as Lame has posted to both his Instagram story and TikTok page since news went viral that he was arrested by ICE. Lame posted a video with costumed mascots to TikTok, and he posted several times to his Instagram story, including a photo showing a hand holding a book in a bookstore and a shout-out to an athlete for his birthday. He also posted about Eid Mubarak. He has more than 162 million TikTok followers. News that ICE had taken Lame into custody first broke via an X influencer named Bo Louden, although many people raised questions about the initial report because Lame no longer came up in the ICE detention database. That may be because the agency now says it let him leave the country. Louden wrote that he was the person who reported Lame to ICE. Let's cut to the chase. Yes, the world's top TikToker Khaby Lame was detained by ICE, the agency confirmed on June 7. 'U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement detained Seringe Khabane Lame, 25, a citizen of Italy, June 6, at the Harry Reid International Airport, Las Vegas, Nevada for immigration violations,' ICE confirmed to Men's Journal in an emailed statement after Men's Journal asked whether it was true that ICE had arrested the popular TIkToker. 'Lame entered the United States April 30 and overstayed the terms of his visa. Lame was granted voluntary departure June 6 and has since departed the U.S.,' ICE wrote. That news came after confusion erupted because Lame is not in the ICE arrest database. Furthermore, he's been posting on Instagram and on TikTok since the rumor went viral, including in a bookstore. Men's Journal asked ICE public relations about the viral and unverified rumor that Lame was arrested, which started on the X page of a social media influencer named Bo Louden. A spokeswoman for ICE, Alethea Smock, told Men's Journal on the evening of June 6 that she was looking into it, and the agency responded with the statement on June 7. "Khaby Lame is still living in Italy, and was granted citizenship there in 2022. ICE is a U.S.-based organization and cannot deport someone not living in the USA," it read. But here's the thing. When you try it yourself, you get zero results. No evidence of Khaby Lame, Khabane Lame, or Serigne Khabane Lame being in ICE custody (as the screenshot lists). Nothing. Zero results come up also when you put the supposed A-Number from the screenshot into the database. In other words, the screenshot is impossible to replicate. That's likely because Lame was allowed to voluntarily leave the country, though, per the new statement. On Louden's comment thread on X, other people wrote that they also got no results when they tried to replicate it in the official database, and they accused him of perpetrating a hoax. Lame is an Italian citizen. Furthermore, Italian citizens do not need a visa to be in the United States for up to 90 days. KRON4 confirmed that Khaby Lame was born in Senegal. He is a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador. "Lame moved to Italy from his native Senegal when he was an infant with his working class parents, but was only granted Italian citizenship when he was 20," that site reported.
