Todd and Julie Chrisley call life after prison more difficult than time behind bars
The reality television couple confessed that life on the outside is more difficult than the lives they led behind bars.
"I've actually talked to a few of the women that I was in prison with that they're already home," Julie, 52, began to explain during the Wednesday, July 23, episode of their "Chrisley Confessions 2.0" podcast.
"We all have this general consensus that — it's kind of weird to even say it."
Todd, 56, added, "No, it's not weird. Life is rougher than prison life."
"It is so horrific, the conditions that you're there for, but that's from a physical standpoint," he explained. "But from an emotional and psychological standpoint, it is harder dealing with day to day."
Julie recalled advice she received early on in her sentence, when she was struggling to cope with being away from her family.
"People told me this when I first got there: you can't live out there and in here at the same time," she said. "Because it'll literally run you crazy, and that's the truth. The longer you're there, the more removed you become to the world."
The Chrisleys — who rose to fame with their hit reality show "Chrisley Knows Best" — were convicted of federal bank fraud and tax evasion. They've both maintained their innocence.
In May, Todd and Julie were released from federal prison after they received pardons from President Donald Trump.
Since they came home, the couple have navigated the challenges of transitioning back into their life after prison.
"You've been having to get back in the swing of taking control of everything," Todd told Julie during the podcast. "Running a house and making sure everything's done the way it's supposed to be done."
Todd continued to make a surprise admission about how he'd gotten better sleep in prison than at home.
"I went to prison for 28 months. I never had trouble sleeping. Maybe, because I wasn't fighting with everybody," Todd said. "Let me tell you something, the members of my mob — otherwise known as the Chrisley Clan — they're the ones who have kept me awake all these years."
Julie additionally opened up about how prison forced her to focus on herself – not parenting or family drama.
"The longer that people are away from their kids — as crazy as it sounds, because it's a double-edged sword— the easier it becomes because you get into your own routine," she said.
"Doesn't mean you don't miss them, you don't love them, all that. But just from me being in prison, I had to just watch out for me. I had to take care of me. I had to make sure that I was as good as I could be physically, mentally, spiritually, emotionally. And that's all I could really do."
Meanwhile, faith, family and fitness were the pillars that carried Todd through incarceration, he previously said at a news conference following his release from prison.
He credited speaking with his children Savannah, Chase and Grayson as a saving grace. He also kept in touch with his wife through daily emails.

Cena plays the US president, and Elba is the prime minister of the UK while Chopra is an MI6 agent in the film. The film is produced by Amazon MGM Studios. Heads of State also features Stephen Root, Paddy Considine, Carla Gugino, Jack Quaid and Sarah Niles. The action comedy is streaming on Prime Video in English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada languages. The president and the prime minister have a lot going on - the latter doesn't appreciate the fact that the former was elected as the head of his country because he was a huge Hollywood star. As heads of two countries majorly deciding the course of most global actions, they must be seen as allies. Despite their differences, they must appear to agree on important ideologies and steps. Both the actors offer a charming camaraderie in the process. They are playful and cheerful, yet authoritative. Chopra adds an interesting twist to the equation. She brings the agility and expertise of a secret agent while keeping it curtly passionate with her ex. The film is a fun-filled action ride which offers adrenaline-rush in the action sequences and lighthearted comedy in others. It also pushes political commentary with subtlety, making it possible for the audience to thoroughly enjoy the movie even if they are not aware of the politics. Earlier in July, Heads of State director Naishuller hinted at the possibility of having a sequel. In an interview with Screenrant, Naishuller said creating more of 'Jack and Marty' would be fun, if people enjoy the movie, and Amazon "feels like it makes sense to do a second one". The 2024 Christmas action comedy Red One ranks on top of the list of most-watched films worldwide on Prime Video ever. Here's a sneak peek at The BLVD! in West Sacramento
A new entertainment venue is about to open in West Sacramento, and we got a sneak peek. The BLVD! in West Sacramento is a new place to play, featuring 37,000 square feet of food and fun. It's an entertainment center featuring a bowling alley and modern-day arcade games. "We really feel like this is a place where people can come, stay for hours, have a great time," said Tami Thompson, The BLVD! director of sales and marketing. Suzette Gibson was among the very first people to try out the laser tag arena. "It was really great, a lot of exercise, a lot of running around, but beautiful," she said. It also features a live DJ, a bar and a restaurant. The bowling lanes also have a high-tech projection system called "Spark." "It animates your lane, it has all kinds of killer graphics and it's just a really cool experience," Thompson said. The BLVD! is located along West Capitol Avenue in the old Safeway building that's been vacant since 2018. They plan on hiring more than 100 employees. West Sacramento Mayor Martha Guerrero says it's a great addition to the community. "I'm incredibly impressed at all the entertainment activities they have here for both children and adults," Guerrero said. This is only the company's second location. So why did they pick West Sacramento? "We see a lot of industry coming in, a lot of buildings coming in and we wanted to be a part of the expansion," Thompson said. The new business has drawn some criticism for having a dress code that bans torn or baggy clothes and large chains. "We want to make sure that people want to come here and have a good time with their family, and we want to make sure people feel safe," Thompson said. But many West Sacramento residents say getting this type of venue is long overdue. "It's good to have some type of entertainment where we don't have to leave the area, and it's right here in our neighborhood," Gibson said. The BLVD! opens its doors to the public on Friday. Bowling costs between $30 and $55 an hour, depending on the time of day.

Wanted man captured after hours long search throughout parts of Westmoreland County
A man who was wanted by law enforcement was captured Wednesday evening after an hours long search throughout parts of Westmoreland County. The Westmoreland County Sheriff's Office said that Donald Sciulli was captured at a home in Herminie after he escaped deputies who had followed him to an ice cream stand near Greensburg. The sheriff's office said that Sciulli, 42, Had a felony warrant out of Allegheny County for assault, robbery, and strangulation and deputies followed tracked him to the Tastyland along Business Rt. 66 in Hempfield Township around 1 p.m. on Wednesday. When law enforcement officers approached him, Sciulli took off and prompted deputies to establish a perimeter. Sciulli was believed to have escaped the area through the woods before the perimeter was established. The sheriff's office said later in the evening, they learned information that led them to the home in Herminie where they believed Sciulli was. When deputies arrived, Sciulli initially resisted, pushed a door closed before going to an upstairs bedroom, and was later taken into custody without incident. Sciulli is now being held in the Westmoreland County Prison and is expected to face new charges for fleeing and resisting.
