Despite the staggering prize, no ticket matched all six numbers, which meant the jackpot rolled over to Saturday. Smaller prizes were won, ranging from $4 for matching just the Powerball to several thousands for partial matches with Power Play add-ons.
Powerball Jackpot Winning Numbers: August 16, 2025
The latest draw for Saturday, August 16, 2025, took place at 10:59 p.m. ET, consistent with the thrice-weekly schedule of the lottery. At press time, the official Powerball results were still pending, leaving players refreshing apps, websites, and news tickers in anticipation, as per a report by Indy Star.

Who Won the Powerball Drawing on August 16?
The burning question:
'Who won the Powerball drawing jackpot tonight?'
remains unanswered for now. Until lottery officials confirm a winning ticket, it remains uncertain whether the jackpot will finally be claimed or continue to climb into even larger territory.
Winners, should they exist, are urged by officials to sign their ticket immediately, secure it in a safe location, and consult legal and financial advisors before stepping into the spotlight.
What to Do If You Win the Powerball
Winning the Powerball is not just about celebrating; it brings with it serious considerations. Lottery experts advise winners to:
Secure the ticket: Sign the back and store it in a safe place.
Seek professional advice: Financial and legal experts can help manage sudden wealth responsibly.
Stay private initially: While some states require public disclosure of winners, others allow anonymity. Either way, maintaining discretion is crucial.
How Many Numbers Do You Need to Win a Prize?
Not every player walks away with the jackpot, but many can still pocket smaller winnings.
Matching only the Powerball number earns a $4 prize.
Matching one number plus the Powerball also pays $4.
Higher combinations increase the prize exponentially, especially when the Power Play option is added.
However, matching two numbers alone without the Powerball does not earn a payout.
What Is the Next Powerball Drawing Date?
The Powerball follows a fixed schedule, with draws held every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday at 10:59 p.m. ET.
The next chance to win comes on Monday, August 18, 2025, should the jackpot roll over again. If no one claims the prize on August 16, the jackpot will grow beyond $565 million, further cementing its place among the year's most notable lotteries.
How Much Does a Powerball Ticket Cost?
Participation in Powerball is relatively inexpensive, fueling its popularity:
$2 per ticket is the base cost.
Adding the Power Play multiplier costs an extra $1, giving players a chance to multiply non-jackpot winnings.
The Double Play option, also $1, offers a second chance to win up to $10 million.
This affordability, coupled with the lure of billion-dollar jackpots, explains the enduring appeal of Powerball.
Notable 2025 Powerball Winners
While the August 16 draw's results are pending, 2025 has already witnessed several big winners:
$328.5 million — January 18; Oregon.
$526.5 million — March 29; California.
$167.3 million — April 26; Kentucky.
$204.5 million — June 1; California.
These victories highlight the national spread of Powerball luck, reinforcing the notion that any ticket, from any state, could be the big one.
Powerball's Biggest Jackpots in History
The Powerball has rewritten lottery history with some of the largest payouts ever seen worldwide. Its top 10 jackpots include:
$2.04 billion — November 7, 2022; California.
$1.765 billion — October 11, 2023; California.
$1.586 billion — January 13, 2016; California, Florida, Tennessee.

$754.6 million — February 6, 2023; Washington.
$731.1 million — January 20, 2021; Maryland.
These staggering amounts highlight why the Powerball remains the most talked-about lottery in the U.S.
Mega Millions: The Other Giant Jackpot
Alongside Powerball, Mega Millions also continues to captivate players. On Friday, August 15, 2025, the winning numbers were 4, 17, 27, 34, 69, and the Mega Ball was 16.
With no jackpot winner, the Mega Millions prize has now grown to $216 million for Tuesday, August 19, 2025.

Delhi wall collapse: Amid heavy rains, they only sought shelter but lost lives; how is any structure in city be so unsafe, asks family

NEW DELHI: What began as a routine visit to a gurdwara near Humayun's Tomb turned into tragedy for 23-year-old Monushca and her mother, Meena Arora (56). Caught in the sudden rain on their way back, the two sought shelter in a nearby mosque while trying to arrange for transport home. Moments later, the roof collapsed, crushing them to death. The family learnt of the tragedy when the two failed to return home after several hours. Desperate, Monushca's brother tried calling. A police officer answered and asked the family to come to AIIMS to identify the bodies. Priya explained how the family was making plans together. "We had planned to go to Vrindavan for Janmashtmi on Saturday, but just the day before, this happened. Monushca's birthday is next month. She had completed her studies and was working for a while, and my mother was also looking for a suitable match for her. It was a new chapter in our lives. She was gone too soon," she said. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Could This NEW Collagen Blend Finally Reduce Your Cellulite? Anything can happen, anything can fall," Priya said. The collapse also claimed the life of 36-year-old Moinuddin, a tailor and the sole breadwinner of his family. His wife, Afsan, said she now has no support to keep her household afloat. "I am managing only with the help of neighbours and the local community. I only want my children to at least be able to go back to school," she said. Police said they were examining the structural integrity of the building, which was at least 40 years old. They said responses are being sought from authorities to ascertain under whose jurisdiction the mosque falls. Stay updated with the latest local news from your city on Times of India (TOI). PG life, pothole strife: Madhapur road turns obstacle course

1 2 3 Hyderabad: In the shadow of the high-rise, high-tech buildings and amidst the constant blaring of traffic in the IT corridor lies the Survey of India Colony in Madhapur. The colony primarily comprises paying guest (PG) and co-living apartments, housing over 100 employees working in various roles mostly in the IT sector. These residents, who have grown used to driving on smooth, wide roads in the IT corridor leading to their workplaces, have long suffered due to a poorly maintained road within their own colony. You Can Also Check: Hyderabad AQI | Weather in Hyderabad | Bank Holidays in Hyderabad | Public Holidays in Hyderabad | Gold Rates Today in Hyderabad | Silver Rates Today in Hyderabad In fact, the stretch in question can scarcely be called a road — it is more of a muddy, uneven track riddled with potholes, rendering it unfit for both driving and walking. Prasad Raju, who works at an IT start-up and resides in one of the PGs, said, "Authorities have been promising to repair the road for several months now, but the situation remains unchanged. This road is one of the key routes leading to the main road and is frequently used by commuters. Due to all the slush and dirt, two-wheelers have skidded and sustained damage in the past. I've started taking a longer route to the office, which, even though time-consuming, is better than having to navigate this treacherous stretch. " Rainy season a nightmare There are short sections where the road has been cemented and laid evenly. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Could This NEW Collagen Blend Finally Reduce Your Cellulite? Vitauthority Learn More Undo Residents claim these were constructed by individual PG owners using their own funds to ensure the safety of their tenants. "The problem worsens during the rainy season, when the road becomes waterlogged and it becomes extremely difficult to walk or travel on," said Yashwant Nadilla, an employee at LTIMindtree. Sai Krishna, the caretaker at Vaarahi PG, remarked that the condition of the colony's road is indicative of a wider issue across the city. "If you look at the main roads, they're generally in good condition. But if you head to the outskirts or into interior colonies, the roads are often in a terrible state," he said. Meanwhile, the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) officials said work to lay a cement road in the colony will commence soon. "We have already sanctioned the project, once we finish laying a pipeline for the stormwater drains, we will start laying the road," said Indira Bai, the GHMC engineer from the Serilingampally zone, Chandanagar circle.
