I've never seen anything like this hearing loss tech, which is built into something you may already wear
The idea is to solve mild to moderate hearing loss with something people are already comfortable wearing. Hearing aids are reportedly not the most comfortable device to wear. Plus, they're still bogged down with stigma and fiddly design quirks that scream 'medical device' louder than they help you hear. Nuance Glasses take that entire mess and replace it with something sleek, open-ear, and dare I say, quite swanky.
What's wild is just how much tech is crammed in without making the Nuance Audio Glasses look like they belong in a sci-fi flick. The glasses come with directional microphones to home in on voices you actually want to hear – large groups like a family dinner or the workplace. They don't shove things into your ears either. Instead, it's open-ear audio, which means you can hear your surroundings while still getting amplified sound piped in discreetly.
Of course, there's also an app. But at least this one's doing more than just pushing firmware updates in the background. The Nuance Audio App lets you tweak noise reduction, switch modes depending on what you're doing, and adjust amplification levels to combat your level of hearing loss. You can even pick from presets that allow you fine-tune your hearing without needing a doctorate.
Style-wise, you've got choices: the Square or Panthos shape, in two colours. And yes, you can slap in your own prescription lenses, including Transitions. Nuance Audio Glasses are classified as an over-the-counter medical device in the EU and now officially available in the UK. You'll find them at Vision Express, David Clulow, Selfridges and selected optical and audiology practices. Local pricing is still under wraps, but they go for $1100 in the US. If you're in the US, you can use health insurance on the them.

Storm hold on for 80-78 win over Dream to snap 6-game losing streak in Vancouver
The Seattle Storm and Atlanta Dream made history on Friday, playing the WNBA's first regular season game in Canada. The game, which took place at Rogers Arena in Vancouver, was a fitting appetizer before the arrival of the Toronto Tempo next season. The two teams decided to put on a show for the Canadian audience, with the Storm holding on to beat the Dream 80-78. The win was not only a victory for Pacific Northwest dominance, but also ended a six-game losing streak for Seattle — while also snapping a six-game winning streak for Atlanta. A packed crowd showed out to watch the neutral site game, setting the tone for an exciting, physical matchup. After taking a small lead at halftime, the Storm started to pull away with a strong run in the third quarter. But then Atlanta started storming right back, overcoming a 12-point deficit to take a lead with less than five minutes remaining. The two teams kept it close. With three minutes left, a foul gave Rhyne Howard three free throws, which she nailed to give the Dream a five-point lead. But another trio of free throws from Skylar Diggins pulled Seattle back within one basket. The Storm retook the lead with a minute remaining in the game, and eventually held a two-point lead with just seconds left. Atlanta had one more chance to send the game to overtime, but Howard's shot went off the backboard after some strong defense from Seattle. Though narrow, it marked a crucial win for a Storm team that has been on a major slide lately. Before Friday, Seattle had lost eight of its last 10 games; five of those losses were by four points or less. (One of the losses was a 24-point loss to the struggling Dallas Wings.) Skylar Diggins, who has had a couple of slow games lately, ended the game with a 21-point double-double, ending with 21 points and 11 assists in the win. Diggins also had a killer buzzer-beater to end the third quarter. Four other Storm players ended in double-digits on points, including rookie center Dominique Malonga, who continues to have impressive efficiency off the bench with 12 points and eight rebounds in 18 minutes of play. Howard did her best to try for the win, ending with a team-high 21 points, while Brionna Jones ended with an 18-point double-double, with 10 rebounds. But it's a disappointing ending for Atlanta, who were on a stellar streak heading into Friday. The third-place Dream have looked dominant for the past few months, holding a 21-12 record and putting up major victories. Friday marks the end of the season series for the Storm and Dream. Though Atlanta schooled the Storm with a 85-75 win in Seattle on Wednesday, but on Friday, the Storm got the last laugh to even the series at 2-2 overall.
