From shy student to badminton powerhouse in Hyderabad
When her family moved to Hyderabad, Nehwal switched many schools–first to Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan's Vidhyasharam School, then to the National Institute of Rural Development (NIRD) School in Rajendranagar.
Though she was a bit shy in class, she was nothing if not a serious student, keeping her eyes glued to both textbooks and shuttlecocks.
Juggling schoolwork with rigorous training at the famous Pullela Gopichand Academy, Nehwal's discipline was next level. She kept up with classes through to class ten and didn't let the shuttlecourt madness distract her from studying.

Finishing off her schooling at St. Ann's College for Women, Hyderabad, Saina hung up her school bag and grabbed her racket full-time.
