Darren Till reveals Jake Paul fight date as ex-UFC star lays out boxing hit-list
The former UFC star scored a big win over Darren Stewart earlier this month and the Liverpudlian is now planning on staying busy inside the ring
Darren Till wants at least two more fights this year and is eyeing up a blockbuster showdown with Jake Paul in 2026. The ex-UFC welterweight title challenger has been a breath of fresh air since joining Misfits boxing. Till scored a brutal knockout victory over Anthony Taylor in January on his debut before outpointing Darren Stewart earlier this month.
With the Liverpudlian naturally on cloud nine following the win over Stewart, Till is now plotting his next moves and has his eyes on a couple of big names. The 32-year-old aims to take on either Mike Perry or Jorge Masvidal in his beloved city of Liverpool, followed by a contest with Julio Chavez Jr later in the year.
Till is keen to settle his rivalry with Masvidal after their 2019 UFC encounter ended with 'Gamebred' delivering a knockout blow in London. Speaking about his ambitions for the remainder of 2025, Till told Plejmo: "Let's bring Misfits now to Liverpool. We haven't brought it to Liverpool. Let's do a main event. Let's do a pay-per-view with a massive star from either America or England, preferably America.
"A Mike Perry or a Jorge Masvidal, get that done. Get the win in the bag again, have a little bit of time off, and then look towards a f****** barnstormer at the end of the year, if it could be Chavez Jr."
Chavez Jr is set to enter the ring with YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul next month. Should the Mexican come away from the bout unscathed, a potential fight with Till be on the cards. The pair were due to fight last year, but the bout was scrapped after Paul's showdown with Mike Tyson was postponed.
Till has expressed his eagerness for a major clash with Paul next year, outlining a potential path: "Yes, I'd definitely fight Chavez Jr. Let's say we then do a co-promotion, me and Misfits against Chavez, and then obviously set it up for Jake Paul, let's say the first quarter of next year," he said.
"That's the perfect road. So let's say, fight at the end of the summer against Jorge Masvidal or Mike Perry. And then we set that up [against Chavez] at the end of the year. Then that's me on their [MVP] promotion next year in late March against Jake Paul, then there's maybe one or two fights there with Tommy or Logan Paul."
After enduring several severe injuries over the last few years, the former UFC star is keen to make up for lost time and is aiming to stay active in the ring. "I would like to fight two more times [this year]. I've had two fights, two more times, so that's four fights. So obviously, that's one at the end of the summer now and then one in the winter," said Till. "To be totally honest with you, I'm saying four times, but if I can make it five times this year, if there's a pull out on a big show. I'll step in because I'm going to stay active."
With a clash against Paul potentially on the cards in the future, Till anticipates he would pocket over $5million. In an exclusive interview with All Out Fighting, when asked whether a fight with the 'Problem Child' would appeal to him, the Brit replied: "Well, that's an interesting question… who wouldn't want a fight with Jake? "Of course I would welcome a fight with Jake. We're talking five million plus."
On the topic of a potential Paul vs Till showdown, Misfits supremo Mams Taylor told All Out Fighting: "I do think there's going to be a lot of conversations about Darren Till as a potential Jake Paul opponent… not that Jake Paul has expressed interest, but if everything goes to Darren's plan this year, it's going to be hard not to have that conversation for fans. They've already brought it up. Darren is really naturally similar to Jake's weight. They're about the same weight class. I'd say off-season/ on-season, when they're fighting in-between camps, I think they've got a lot of similarities."

Now we look at six burning issues the new manager will need to address as he seeks to turn around the fortunes of the team. THE GOALKEEPER This time last year, Clement claimed every player in the Rangers squad was for sale — apart from Jack Butland. It wasn't a statement which aged well. Clement was sacked in February as Gers trailed Celtic in the league. And former England No 1 Butland was guilty of several high-profile errors. After one mistake too many — in a 2-0 home defeat to Hibs in April — the 32-year-old was dropped to the bench by interim boss Fergie. Liam Kelly grabbed the gloves, only to miss the last two games of the campaign through injury. But who will start between the sticks for the first Champions League qualifier on July 22? It's a big call. THE CAPTAIN James Tavernier has won the Premiership title, Scottish Cup and Premier Sports Cup — as well as skippering Gers in a Europa League final. He's scored more than 100 goals, provided more than 100 assists, and earned a place in the Ibrox Hall of Fame after a decade of service. But he still splits the Rangers fan base and those impressive numbers took a decided dip last season as Gers toiled and Tavernier moved beyond his 33rd birthday. An untimely injury to Dujon Sterling probably means Tav will start next term at right-back — but the next boss must decide how long he can go on. Rangers fans react as 49ers takeover completed THE DEFENCE Leon Balogun has been released, Robin Propper looks set to be returning to FC Twente, and loan stars Neraysho Kasanwirjo and Rafa Fernandes are back at their parent clubs. It leaves John Souttar as the only recognised first-team central defender — and the Scotland ace has just one year left on his Ibrox contract. With Ridvan Yilmaz again linked with a return to former club Besiktas and Jefte yet to convince, left-back could be another area of concern for the new boss. Gers shipped way too many goals last term, just one clean sheet in their last 14 domestic games, so the backline clearly needs some repair. THE MIDFIELD Ferguson finished the last campaign with on-form Nico Raskin in the engine room, alongside Mo Diomande and Connor Barron. On the face of it, the new man in the dugout could elect to stick rather twist — as Raskin's form has swept him into the Belgium team, while Barron could make a Scotland debut over the next four days. But Everton are keen on Diomande, while that good form could attract interest in the Belgian. Given the new broom sweeping through Ibrox, the club's American owners are sure to look closely at their player trading model. Lyall Cameron is arriving from Dundee and will inject attacking impetus, so maybe this is one position where Gers have less work to do than in others. THE FLANKS Vaclav Cerny was a roaring success last term but, like Abdallah Sima 12 months earlier, he's done so well that he's moved beyond Gers' reach for a permanent deal. 2 Vaclav Cerny became a fan favourite at Ibrox Credit: Willie Vass Ianis Hagi and Tom Lawrence also left at the end of their deals, and Nedim Bajrami scarcely endeared himself to the Ibrox faithful. Gers have a £4.5million obligation to sign Oscar Cortes permanently from Lens, but that would account for almost a quarter of the £20m being handed over by Andrew Cavenagh. Time to look for escape loopholes. In short, Gers need pace in wide areas and the kind of penetration they lacked last term as they toiled to break down low blocks. THE GOALS Maybe the most intriguing decision of all will come in the most important position of all — No 9. Cyriel Dessers left topped the Premiership scoring charts with 18 goals, netting more in the league than Daizen Maeda, Sam Dalby and Simon Murray. Rookie Hamza Igamane impressed in flashes with 16 in all competitions, including that spectacular late winner at Celtic Park in March. But Danilo didn't do anything to justify his £4m price tag, and every new manager tends to want his own striker on the premises. Watch this space. Chelsea told to make transfer 'exception' by signing £25m star
Frank Leboeuf has urged Chelsea to make an 'exception' and break from their transfer policy by signing experienced AC Milan goalkeeper Mike Maignan this summer. The Blues are in the market for a new number one on the back of a less-than-convincing season for Robert Sanchez. Enzo Maresca placed his trust in Sanchez as his first-choice shot-stopper at the start of the campaign, but a series of costly mistakes over the winter period saw the 27-year-old lose his place to Filip Jorgensen.. And while Sanchez reclaimed the gloves after Jorgensen produced some shaky performances of his own, widespread reports claim Chelsea are open to offers for the error-prone Spaniard. The likes of Aaron Ramsdale, James Trafford and Mile Svilar have been linked in recent weeks, with the west London giants scouring the market for a long-term solution between the sticks. 'But as much as I like him and I think he would fit perfectly to Chelsea… Chelsea have decided to give an exception in their trading business system. 'I think they should [make an exception] where you need a new Thiago Silva. 'It would be more interesting to have somebody as a centre-back. That would be my decision, but if they decide to go for Mike that's a very good decision because the guy is a really good goalkeeper. 'I know him, I appreciate him and I think he will be very useful to Chelsea.' Chelsea put an end to weeks of speculation by announcing the arrival of Liam Delap from Ipswich earlier this evening. The 22-year-old striker has put pen to paper on a six-year contract at Stamford Bridge and joins the club for a fee of £30million. On Chelsea's deal for Delap, Leboeuf said: 'Expectations are going to be big and the pressure is going to be huge. You won't know before you experienced it. 'Any player wants to play for the biggest clubs and you want to try. Hopefully it's going to work. 'When I came to Chelsea, I was completely unknown so that was nice, but guys like Gianluca Vialli and Gianfranco Zola came with pressure, even if it wasn't the Chelsea that we know now.' Leboeuf hopes Chelsea supporters are patient with Delap while the young forward finds his feet in a new environment. He added: 'Delap is going to have pressure. 'The fans are fed up with bad strikers and they want someone productive. 'Let's give him a chance and see how it works. Russell Martin appointed Rangers manager on 3 year contract as ex Southampton boss leads 49ers revolution
Martin is the man entrusted by the new Ibrox hierarchy to get Gers challenging again Russell Martin has been appointed as the new manager of Rangers on a three-year deal. Record Sport exclusively broke the news on Wednesday night that Martin will be officially paraded in the next 48 hours after convincing new chairman Andrew Cavenagh that he was the best man for the job. The Englishman has been without a club since getting the sack at Southampton last December, just six months after leading the club back to the Premier League through the Championship play-offs. It's believed the ex-Gers and Scotland defender had been in discussions with Leicester City but has knocked back the chance to replace Ruud van Nistlerooy by finalising a return to Govan instead. The appointment brings the near four-month-long search for a new manager in Govan to an end. The Light Blues had been without a permanent boss since sacking Philippe Clement at the end of February, with former club captain Barry Ferguson taking on the reins on an interim basis for the remainder of the campaign. But with 49ers Enterprises completing their takeover of Rangers last Friday, the hunt to get a new man in the dugout was ramped up. Sweeping changes in the Ibrox hierarchy have also seen Kevin Thelwell appointed as the club's new sporting director, with fellow Everton colleague Dan Purdy also joining Gers as technical director. Martin has already had a brief taste of what being at Ibrox is all about, having spent the second half of the 2017/18 season on loan with Gers during his playing career. The 39-year-old will be keen to get down to business straight away, with Rangers entering the second qualifying round of the Champions League on July 22/23. It's expected he'll be joined by long term assistant Matty Gill, while former Gers full-back Maurice Ross has also been earmarked for a key role in the coaching staff Martin's arrival comes following a major plot twist in talks with rival target Davide Ancelotti, who suddenly appeared to cool on the prospect of making the move from Madrid to Glasgow's south side. The son of managerial great Carlo appeared to be the frontrunner after holding a series of discussions with Thelwell and Gretar Steinsson, football adviser to the San Francisco 49ers. But Ancelotti's camp began to stall on a move to Ibrox at the start of this week, with the young coach being lined up by Como as a replacement for Cesc Fabregas - who could succeed Al-Hilal-bound Simone Inzaghi at Inter Milan.
