Conor McGregor offered comeback bare knuckle fight by former UFC star
The former dual-weight UFC champion has not fought since 2021, but one ex-UFC star is eager to go head-to-head with the Irishman in the ring Former UFC welterweight star Mike Perry has called for a bare knuckle showdown with Conor McGregor. The Irish fighter hasn't stepped into the cage since his brutal first-round loss to Dustin Poirier at UFC 264 in 2021, but recent videos of him training suggest he's gearing up for a comeback. McGregor was due to make a return last year against Michael Chandler but withdrew from the clash after picking up an injury in training. Perry, on the other hand, has made quite a name for himself in BKFC - a promotion co-owned by McGregor - since leaving the UFC four years ago. The 33-year-old American debuted in bare-knuckle fighting in 2022 and has since racked up five impressive victories, remaining undefeated in the ring. His last bout was in professional boxing, where he lost to YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul. He's yet to make a BKFC comeback after being jokimgly fired by McGregor. The 'Notorious' has often hinted at a BKFC fight, and Perry is more than ready to welcome the former dual-weight UFC champion into the ring. Keen to get back into action, 'Platinum' has challenged McGregor to get off his "a**." Speaking on the Pound 4 Pound Podcast with UFC legends Kamaru Usman and Henry Cejudo, he said: "Bare-knuckle is really fun and exciting, I'm 5-0 and I got a lot of credit over there, I'm the king of violence over there. "Conor's over there messing about. Get back in the ring and let's do something, Platinum Tequila vs Proper 12. Your whiskey dropped you, I'll drop you. Yeah (I would like to fight McGregor in BKFC), I would like to fight Jake (Paul) in bare-knuckle but he wouldn't do it, so we created Dirty Boxing." Back in March, McGregor hinted that he may be done with the UFC after stating that he was happy with everything he had accomplished inside the cage. 'I've got two fights on the contract, I'm in negotiations," he said at a BKFC event. "Last week something happened to me, I went to the White House and my heart bleeds for my country right now. So there's a lot of stuff going on back home, I'm happy with what I've done. There's something else for me that's in my gut right now and that's kind of where I'm going.'' That said, just moments later, when asked if he could fight and be president at the same time, the Irishman gave a quick response, replying: 'F*****g right I will, of course, are you crazy? That's part of why I want to do it! To be announced as the President of Ireland while having a fight? Imagine that. But for sure, hell yeah, hell yes.'

Darren Till makes brutal U-turn after watching ex-UFC rival's sparring footage
Darren Till is looking to stay busy inside the ring but has shut down a fight with a long-time rival (Image: PA Wire) Darren Till has ruled out a fight with ex-UFC fighter Mike Perry after seeing him spar with top middleweight contender Sean Strickland. After leaving the world's premier MMA organisation in 2023, Till switched to boxing and signed a lucrative contract with Misfits. He made a knockout debut against Anthony Taylor and followed it up with a victory over Darren Stewart earlier this month. The 32-year-old is now eager to stay active following several injury setbacks over the last few years. Till recently laid out his plans for the rest of the year, which included a fight with Jorge Masvidal and Perry, but appears that the former UFC welterweight title contender has had a change of heart. Till and Perry have been embroiled in a heated rivalry for years, which seemed to reach a boiling point over the last few weeks amid speculation of a possible showdown. Perry, who hasn't competed since losing a professional boxing debut to Jake Paul last summer, is looking to make a comeback this year. The 33-year-old American recently trained with Strickland at Xtreme Couture in Las Vegas. It wasn't long before Till caught sight of the footage. It is fair to say Till was left unimpressed by the clip. In a post uploaded to X - formerly known as Twitter - he wrote: "Oh god. Oh my f****** god. [Misfits Boxing] I no longer want to fight [Mike Perry] due to how s*** he is, cancel all negotiations now for me please. Thank you!". Speaking about what the future holds, he recently told Plejmo: "Let's bring Misfits now to Liverpool. We haven't brought it to Liverpool. Let's do a main event. Let's do a pay-per-view with a massive star from either America or England, preferably America. A Mike Perry or a Jorge Masvidal, get that done. Get the win in the bag again, have a little bit of time off, and then look towards a f****** barnstormer at the end of the year, if it could be Chavez Jr." Till also revealed he would be open to a blockbuster showdown with Paul next year. "Yes, I'd definitely fight Chavez Jr. Let's say we then do a co-promotion, me and Misfits against Chavez, and then obviously set it up for Jake Paul, let's say the first quarter of next year," the Brit continued. "That's the perfect road. So let's say, fight at the end of the summer against Jorge Masvidal or Mike Perry. And then we set that up [against Chavez] at the end of the year. Then that's me on their [MVP] promotion next year in late March against Jake Paul, then there's maybe one or two fights there with Tommy or Logan Paul."

Jake Paul sparring footage leaves fans concerned ahead of boxing return
The American is set to make a return to action next month, but fans have been left concerned by the social media star's recently released sparring footage Jake Paul has left fans uninspired as he released new sparring footage ahead of his return to the ring this summer. The 'Problem Child' is scheduled to take on Julio Cesar Chavez Jr in a cruiserweight clash set on June 28 in Anaheim. This marks Paul's first fight since he cruised to a decision victory over former heavyweight world champion Mike Tyson last November. Chavez Jr - who holds a professional record of 54-6-1 - emerged victorious against former UFC middleweight contender Uriah Hall in his most recent match this past July. The Mexican's notable past opponents include Andy Lee, Canelo Alvarez, Daniel Jacobs, and ex-UFC champ Anderson Silva. As the highly-anticipated showdown draws near, both fighters are intensifying their respective training camps. On Monday afternoon, Paul decided to show off how his training was going to his millions of followers on Instagram. Paul, 28, was seen on the front foot and attacking his sparring partner with a wide range of strikes up top. The footage has since gone viral on social media - with many left uninspired by the clip. "I could have sworn he was better than this… what happened?" One fan wrote. Another user commented: "He looks worse than he did 3 years ago," while another posted: "He needs to drop weight, he's so slow and sluggish this heavy." A fourth replied: "He hasn't gotten better in like five years. Hella impressive." Another commented: "I thought he would be looking better than that tbh," while another boxing fan posted: "Hasn't improved at all since the Woodley fights." Should the 'Problem Child' emerge victorious and unscathed from his bout with Chavez Jr, the American is keen on a rematch with Tommy Fury and has even been in talks with the Brit's elder sibling, Tyson. Paul faced off against Fury in Saudi Arabia back in 2023, where despite scoring a knockdown in the final round, he lost on points. Since their first meeting, the two have continued to exchange insults online, fuelling speculation about a potential rematch. In a recent chat with Ariel Helwani, Paul said: "I think the Fury fight will happen in the next 12 months, yeah. He just has to be realistic about what's he's worth, right?" He said. "He just had a free fight on DAZN that tanked, couldn't sell the tickets in wherever he was like a 1,000 person venue and he's just negotiating like he's God. Again, I have ten names waiting to fight me in multiple different sports, MMA, boxing, all this stuff. These people just have to be realistic about what they're wanting to get paid and Tommy Fury isn't. "But I DM'd Tyson Fury because Tyson was like, 'You guys need to make this happen now.' I was like, 'Tyson, you've got to put your brother in check here. He's not going to get this money or this offer anywhere else.' He already missed out on the massive opportunity on Netflix, his dad, who is his manager has no idea what the f*** he's doing and you can't let your dad run your career. Tommy's not his own boss, he's an airhead as well so I just feel bad for him because he thinks he's worth more than what he's worth." Earlier this year, Paul's team revealed that Fury turned down a £6million offer to rematch on Netflix before 'Iron Mike' accepted the deal back in November. "I just can't wait to get back in there with this guy because in the past three years, I fought him two years into being a pro boxer now it's been three years since then," Paul continued. "It's just night and day and he hasn't got any better, right? He's been boxing since he was six years old, it's going to be the same stuff, same coach, his dumbass dad. He hasn't got any better so I just can't wait, seriously I can't wait to get in there with him and whenever we can make that happen it's going to be Christmas Day for me."
