FBI and DOJ Memo Claims There Is No Jeffrey Epstein Client List After All
The list, which has been the subject of speculation since the disgraced financier died in 2019, was said to include detailed records of his activities with high-profile individuals including flight logs to his private island.
The new information, released in a two-page memo and first published by Axios, directly contradicts theories floating in right-wing circles surrounding the nature of Epstein's death and an apparent government 'deep state' plot behind it; prominent conservative figures have repeatedly called for the Trump administration to release the files in full.
Trump's Attorney General Pam Bondi revealed in February she had been given Epstein's client list from the FBI, which she was preparing to investigate and release on grounds of 'transparency', noting 'Americans have a right to know.'
Yet according to the memo obtained by Axios, investigators found 'no incriminating 'client list'', along with 'no credible evidence... that Epstein blackmailed prominent individuals.' It adds there is no 'evidence that could predicate an investigation against uncharged third parties.'
It says investigators have viewed a video from the Manhattan prison that supports a medical examiner's finding the 66-year-old took his own life.
The memo also adds there will be no charges for anyone else involved in the Epstein case; his associate Ghislaine Maxwell is currently serving a 20-year sentence on child sex trafficking and related charges.
In its memo, according to ABC News, the DOJ memo states that among the government highest priorities is 'combatting child exploitation and bringing justice to victims.' It then adds: 'Perpetuating unfounded theories about Epstein serves neither of those ends.'
Bondi was asked in February when the DOJ would release the list of Epstein's clients. She told Fox News, 'It's sitting on my desk right now to review, that's been a directive by President Trump.'
At that time, Donald Trump Jr. reposted a story saying Bondi had accessed Epstein's client list, adding 'LFG', or let's f--king go.
The next month, talking to Fox's Sean Hannity, Bondi clarified the FBI initially had only handed over 'a couple of hundred pages of documents.'
She added, 'You're looking at these documents going, 'these aren't all the Epstein files, there were flight logs, there were names, victims' names, where's the rest of the stuff? And that's what the FBI had turned over to us.''
After receiving 'thousands' of pages, Bondi said in March, 'We're going to go through it as fast as we can but go through it cautiously to protect all the victims of Epstein because there were a lot of victims.'
The Attorney General said at the time that there were at least 254 victims of Epstein, who was accused of serial sex trafficking of women and girls, including at his Miami mansion and private island in the Caribbean.
Bondi added, 'We believe in transparency, America has the right to know. The Biden administration sat on these documents, no one did anything with them. It's a new day, it's a new administration everything's going to come put to the public, the public have a right to know, Americans have a right to know.'
The Daily Beast has contacted the Department of Justice for comment.
The new finding comes a month after Elon Musk blew up his relationship with Donald Trump by posting on X, 'Time to drop the really big bomb: Donald Trump is in the Epstein files. That is the real reason they have not been made public.' He later deleted the post.
After Musk's claims on X about Trump being on Epstein's list, the president told NBC News, 'That's called 'old news.' That has been talked about for years. Even Epstein's lawyer said I had nothing to do with it–it's old news. This has been talked about for years and years. And as you know, I was not friendly with Epstein for probably 18 years before he died. I was not at all friendly with him.' Musk later deleted the claims from his account.
The news of the latest memo shocked many MAGA influencers. Savanah Hernandez posted on X, 'Why did Pam Bondi get in front of the entire nation and say she had the Epstein client list on her desk? She should step down as Attorney General for lying to the American public.'
Alexander Sheppard, who was jailed for his role in the January 6 riots, said on X, 'Dan Bongino either lied to us on his podcast for several years or he is lying to us now…" Deputy FBI Director Bongino, along with FBI Director Kash Patel, have been among the most vocal of the Epstein files.

Why does the White House want to redesign gas cans? Explaining the situation
The White House says it wants to 'Make Gas Cans Great Again.' Under a plan announced July 24 by President Donald Trump's Environmental Protection Agency, the federal government is encouraging manufacturers to add vents to portable fuel containers, also known as gas cans. It would effectively reverse a 2009-rule by federal environmental officials at the time that required portable gas cans - used for lawnmowers, chainsaws, ATVS and stranded vehicles - to have special vents that stop the vapors from escaping. Proponents of that rule - which was finalized in 2007 - said the vapors that escape contributed to ozone pollution. But the 2009 rule created an online market for pre-ban gas cans among buyers dissatisfied with the new cans. Why does Trump want to redesign gas cans? 'Gas cans used to pour gas,' Trump's head of the EPA, Lee Zeldin, said on X, formerly Twitter. 'Now they just dribble like a child's sippy cup.' But many modern designs are often infuriatingly ineffective at actually filling tanks because the vents work so poorly, critics argue. Instead of stopping vapors from flowing out the complicated spouts and relief valves, the new designs often cause gasoline spills, which some critics say are far worse than a tiny amount of vapor escaping from an older design. Some rules for gas cans will still remain in place Other rules for gas cans have to remain in place under federal law, like making sure they're child-resistant and limiting the risk of flash fires. What happens next for gas cans? The EPA's announcement is non-binding for manufacturers and doesn't prohibit the vents. Rather, the EPA is asking manufacturers to redesign the gas cans to have vents 'to facilitate fast and smooth fuel flow.' This article contains material from USA TODAY Daniel Munoz covers business, consumer affairs, labor and the economy for and The Record. Could a Canadian Zohran Mamdani win an election here? Party insiders have hopes — and tips
A former Ontario MPP says the NDP should be looking south to inspire their new federal leader As the federal New Democratic Party starts its search for a new leader, one former Ontario MPP says the NDP should be looking south for inspiration: Zohran Mamdani. Joel Harden tells Yahoo Canada there is an appetite for policies similar to the New York City mayoral hopeful's here — Canadians just need to see a candidate embrace those ideas. 'Canadians are hungry for these ideas,' Harden said. 'They're hungry for a candidate and a campaign that can lead them to believe that if we vote for this, there's a good likelihood these things will happen.' Mamdani, 33, beat former New York state governor Andrew Cuomo after polling at just 2 per cent earlier in 2025. Mamdani will now be the Democratic nominee for mayor of New York City. The democratic socialist is campaigning on policies like free transit, a $30 minimum wage, increased taxes on the super-rich, rent freezes and government-run grocery stores. Mamdani's underdog campaign was praised by Toronto Metropolitan University political science professor Bryan Evans, who told Yahoo Canada the reason Mamdani won was his focus on affordability, followed by a direct communication style that used humour effectively to connect with people. A team of about 50,000 volunteers also canvassed for Mamdani across New York. Cuomo was the favourite to win, despite not having a great track record as governor, including accusations of bullying, corruption, and sexual harassment. 'You add all that up… it's quite the remarkable achievement,' Evans said. Jared Walker: Mamdani ran 'relatable' campaign that resonated amid affordability crisis Former NDP speech writer and executive director of the non-profit Canadians for Tax Fairness, Jared Walker, told Yahoo Canada that Mamdani had an air of authenticity that other politicians have struggled to achieve. 'He's talking about affordability in a relatable way,' Walker said. '(It is) spoken by a messenger that is believable on the issue.' Walker said Mamdani's platform could just as easily work in Canada, and that all of his policies have at least been discussed at one point by the NDP. That makes the main lesson from his success how he communicated those policies and connected with voters, according to Walker. He admitted that the federal NDP could do a better job at those campaign elements, but attributed the party's poor showing in the last election to U.S. President Donald Trump's threats of making Canada the 51st state, which the Liberals were able to capitalize on. Praise for Mamdani from Ontario NDP leader: 'We're inspired' Ontario NDP Leader Marit Stiles congratulated Mamdani after his win in a post on X. 'What you've built goes far beyond New York City,' she said. 'You've captured the imagination of progressives everywhere with a blueprint for how we can win: with hope, with values, and with the belief that politics can be a force for good. We're watching — and we're inspired.' Could a Canadian Mamdani be victorious? But some political analysts suggested Mamdani was a tough sell as a mainstream politician given his democratic-socialist policies and years-long support for Palestine, often breaking with U.S. Democrats to call for a ceasefire and call out Israel's breaking of international law. Top Democrats still have not endorsed Mamdani. Former NDP MPP Sarah Jama was expelled from the party's caucus for a statement shortly after Hamas' October 7, 2023, attack on Israel that was critical of Israel. In January 2025, Jama's application to run again as a member of the NDP was denied by party officials. She ran as an independent and lost. Jama was also censured by Ontario's legislature for wearing a keffiyeh in the hall, which was deemed political apparel and against a dress code. Harden, who also wore a keffiyeh in parliament and was ejected along with Jama, said it was a very difficult time but figures like Jama still have a future in politics. He praised how Mamdani has handled the issue, saying that he didn't fall into any political traps but stayed on message and was direct. Mamdani was also endorsed by Brad Lander, who was also running to be the Democratic nominee for mayor of New York City. Lander is a progressive Jewish comptroller, and Harden says this helped show Mamdani had no animus toward Jewish New Yorkers. 'I think the world is ready for adult conversations that don't succumb to the gotcha politics and traps that some folks will lay,' Harden said. 'It is really important that everybody anywhere in the world can feel safe being who they are, can advocate for the things they believe without being smeared or mischaracterized.' Election data from New York City's mayoral Democratic primary showed a surge of young voters. Mamdani was clearly able to mobilize this demographic. New rules for the NDP's search for a new federal leader might have already taken notice. Signatures gathered by prospective leaders are now required to include at least 10 per cent from NDP members under 25 years of age.

Boy dies after being ‘left in hot car by child services driver shopping for tobacco'
A three-year-old foster child has died in Alabama after a driver employed by local children's services left him alone in a hot car for around five hours. The boy has been named by Jefferson County Coroner's Office as Kettorius 'KJ' Starks Jnr of Bessemer. He was found in the vehicle parked on a driveway with its windows rolled up, on Tuesday, July 22, reports. Chief Deputy Coroner Bill Yates stated the boy is believed to have been left alone in the car from 12.30pm until around 5.30pm when he was discovered. Tragically, he was pronounced dead at 6.03pm. Local temperatures reached around 95 degrees Fahrenheit (35C) on Tuesday afternoon, but the National Weather Service states it would have felt as high as 103 degrees (39.4C) by 1pm, taking into account the high humidity. The boy's aunt Brittney Debruce said he was living in a foster home and was under the care of Alabama's Department of Human Resources at the time of his death. Ms Debruce stated that a transport driver working as a contractor for the children's services department has picked the boy up from daycare and took him for a planned visit with his father in Bessner. After the visit, the driver is said to have alleged to purchase groceries and tobacco before parking the vehicle on the driveway of his home. The alarm was raised when Kettorius' foster carer went to pick him up from the daycare facility and found he wasn't there. Ms Debruce stated that she and Birmingham Police later found the child inside the car. The boy's mother was informed of the tragedy and the family are said to have been left devastated. "We don't know what's going on," Debruce added. Kettorius's parents issued a statement and described the situation as their "worst nightmare," adding: "Our baby should be alive." Birmingham police are investigating the child's death. In a statement, Alabama's Department of Human Resources said: "A child in DHR custody was being transported by a contract provider when the incident occurred. The provider has terminated their employee. Due to confidentiality, DHR cannot comment further regarding the identity of the child or the exact circumstances." The driver that picked up Kettorius worked for a company called The Covenant Services, that was contracted to carry out transport services. The Debruce family attorney Courtney French said: "This is a heartbreaking and preventable tragedy."
