MoF Organises Workshop on Cabinet Resolutions Related to Outsourcing and Instalment of Debt Collection from Federal Entities
Workshop aims to enhance collection efficiency and support financial sustainability across federal entities
In a step aimed at enhancing the efficiency of debt collection and supporting financial sustainability across federal entities, the Ministry of Finance (MoF) organised a specialised workshop in Dubai to discuss the provisions of Cabinet Resolution No. (14) and Cabinet Resolution No. (15) of 2025, concerning the outsourcing and instalment of the collection of debts owed to federal entities.
The workshop was attended by directors of financial and legal affairs from various federal entities, as well as representatives from the Ministry's Government Revenue and Legal Affairs departments.
The session comes as part of the Ministry's ongoing commitment to supporting federal entities in their capacity as creditors and parties responsible for the collection of dues, and to familiarise them with the mechanisms and procedures that allow for greater flexibility in implementing these resolutions.
This, in turn, contributes to improving the efficiency of financial collections and raising levels of compliance, in line with Federal Decree-Law No. (15) of 2024.
H.E. Saeed Rashid Al Yateem, Assistant Undersecretary for the Government Budget and Revenue Sector at the Ministry of Finance said: 'This workshop reflects the Ministry of Finance's commitment to enhancing transparency and efficiency in managing federal financial resources by empowering entities to implement the Cabinet resolutions on debt collection in a flexible and financially governed manner. Implementing outsourcing and instalment mechanisms is an important step toward advancing the federal financial system and ensuring financial sustainability. At the Ministry, we are keen to provide full support to federal entities and equip them with the tools and mechanisms needed to ensure the swift and effective implementation of these resolutions, thereby strengthening confidence in the federal financial system.'
The workshop featured a detailed explanation of the legal and regulatory frameworks related to the Cabinet Resolutions, in addition to discussions around proposed execution models for outsourcing and instalment. The session also addressed how to integrate these mechanisms into the financial systems and procedures of federal entities. Furthermore, it provided a platform to respond to participants' queries and facilitated knowledge exchange among the various concerned parties.

Egypt raises level of preparedness to ensure stability of electricity following military Iranian-Israeli escalation
Egypt's Minister of Electricity and Renewable Energy Mahmoud Essmat held a meeting with the heads of electricity companies on June 13, 2025 following Israeli attacks on Iran- press photo CAIRO- 13 June 2025: Amid the ongoing military escalation between Israel and Iran, Egypt's Minister of Electricity and Renewable Energy Mahmoud Essmat held a meeting with the heads of electricity companies, directing them to raise the level of preparedness to secure the unified power grid and ensure the stability of electricity supply across the country. During the meeting, the Minister also reviewed fuel reserves required to operate power generation units and discussed plans to increase the share of renewable energy in the national energy mix in the coming period, according to a statement released by the Ministry on Friday. He emphasized adopting new operational strategies to optimize fuel usage, maximize the efficiency of kilowatt-hour production, and enhance the economic return on each unit of fuel consumed. All necessary measures will be implemented within the framework of the current national energy plan. The Minister further instructed the heads of electricity companies to maintain continuous coordination with the control centers within their respective companies and with the regional control centers of the Egyptian Electricity Transmission Company. He stressed the importance of ensuring that leadership teams remain on-site around the clock and closely monitor developments in real time to safeguard the unified grid and ensure uninterrupted power supply. The Prime Minister added that coordination is underway between Governor of the Central Bank of Egypt Hassan Abdullah and Minister of Finance and Ahmed Kouchouk to increase the strategic stockpile of key commodities. Egypt rolls out digital ticketing across 110 museums and archaeological sites
Egypt's Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities has completed the installation and activation of self-service ticketing machines at the Saqqara archaeological site. This initiative aligns with the Ministry's digital transformation strategy and directives from Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, Sherif Fathy, aimed at enhancing services within archaeological sites and museums, thereby improving the tourist experience through the use of advanced technology. These new machines allow both Egyptian visitors and tourists to easily purchase entry tickets using bank payment cards. This move is expected to alleviate congestion at traditional ticket booths and supports the shift towards providing smart, advanced services within Egypt's tourist destinations. Mohamed Ismail Khaled, Secretary-General of the Supreme Council of Antiquities, explained that this service is a key component of an integrated electronic system for booking tickets to museums and archaeological sites. This system also includes options for purchasing from mechanized ticket windows or via the official online booking website. He added that the Ministry is progressively rolling out these machines across various open museums and archaeological sites nationwide, following a defined timeline. This expansion aims to boost service quality and elevate the overall tourist experience. Mohamed Shaaban, Assistant Minister of Tourism and Antiquities for Digital Services, affirmed that these machines exclusively accept electronic payments via bank cards. He also noted that the electronic booking system further includes the Experience Egypt mobile application, available on both the Play Store and App Store, in addition to a centralized ticket sales center catering specifically to tourism companies. He clarified that the electronic ticketing system has now been activated at 110 museums and archaeological sites across the republic. Notable locations include the Giza Pyramids area, the Egyptian Museum in Tahrir, the Citadel of Salah El-Din, Deir El-Bahari Temple, Karnak Temple, the Valley of the Kings in Luxor, and Abu Simbel Temple in Aswan.
