Flag-inspired fests hosted in Aizawl
The celebrations, held at Vanapa Hall in Aizawl, featured the inauguration of the Tiranga Mela and Tiranga Concert, led by minister for art & culture C Lalsawivunga, who served as the chief guest.
Lalsawivunga said the Tiranga Mahotsav is part of India's 75th Independence Anniversary celebrations and aims to promote national unity. He underscored the Tricolour's significance as a symbol of unity, reflecting India's rich diversity of tribes and languages. "The Tiranga represents our shared commitment to the nation," he said, urging citizens to deepen their devotion to the country.
The Mahotsav is part of the ministry of culture's "Har Ghar Tiranga" initiative, launched in 2022 to encourage every citizen to display the national flag at home.

'War 2' box office collection day 4 (Live): The Hrithik Roshan, Jr NTR, Kiara Advani starrer crosses the Rs. 150 crore mark, while Rajinikanth's ‘Coolie' closes in on the Rs. 170 crore on Sunday
Three powerhouse performers of the Indian entertainment industry joined hands for one of the biggest spy thrillers of 2025 - 'War 2'. With the star power of Hrithik Roshan , Jr NTR , and Kiara Advani , the vision of director Ayaan Mukherji, and a gripping tale packed with high-octane action sequences, the movie became the talk of the town right from the word go. Released on August 14, the film did live up to the expectations with an impressive opening. However, after smashing collection on August 14 and 15, the movie's business slowed down. Yet, as we speak, the movie has crossed the Rs. 150 crore mark. 'War 2' box office collection day 4 update Released a day ahead of Indian Independence Day, 'War 2' opened with Rs 52 Cr across all languages in the domestic market, according to Sacnilk report. Released in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu, the movie made Rs 29 Cr, Rs 0.25 Cr, and Rs 22.75 Cr, respectively. Thereafter, it benefited from the Independence Day festivities and earned Rs 57.35 Cr. If we break it down, then the film made Rs 44.5 Cr in Hindi, Rs 0.35 Cr in Tamil, and Rs 12.5 Cr in Telugu. However, from day 3, i.e., Saturday, the movies saw a drop in business. Trade reports show that on the opening day, with the collection of Rs. 65 Cr, 'Coolie' outshone 'War 2,' but on day 2, the latter had the last laugh. Nevertheless, on Saturday, the tables turned one more time, and despite a drop of around 29 percent, it collected Rs. 38.6 Cr. As we speak, it is still leading the race, with a business of Rs. 9.91 crore on Sunday, day 4, bringing its total to Rs. 168.26 crore. 'War 2' Review 'Hrithik Roshan brings gravitas to the screen as the roguish yet poised Kabir. He impresses as a high-octane action hero and in the film's emotional moments. Junior NTR matches his energy and intensity, holding his own as a performer and in executing the action sequences. Kiara Advani makes her presence felt despite limited screen time, though the use of stunt doubles in an early fight scene is noticeable. 'Maareesan' OTT release date: When and where to watch Fahadh Faasil–Vadivelu's emotional drama
The film 'Mamannan', directed by Mari Selvaraj, which starred Fahadh Faasil and Vadivelu , created a new dimension for Vadivelu. Following that, the new film in which the same team came together again is 'Maareesan'. The film, directed by Sudheesh Shankar, was released in theaters on July 25th, and opened with positive reviews. Kovai Sarala, Vivek Prasanna , Livingston, Renuka, and many others played crucial roles, while the music was composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja . OTT premiere date announced Now the much-awaited OTT release of 'Maareesan' has been announced. According to the official announcement from the digital partner, 'Maareesan' will be streaming on Netflix from August 22nd. The film will be released not only in Tamil but also in dubbed Malayalam, Hindi, Telugu, and Kannada languages. This will give those who missed it in theaters and multilingual audiences the opportunity to experience the film. Storyline of property and deception 'Maareesan' plot revolves around Fahadh Faasil and Vadivelu. Fahadh Faasil's character, who deceives the amnesiac Vadivelu and tries to seize his property, is interesting. The emotional journey between the two drives the story forward, creating high expectations among the fans for the film. Despite decent reviews after its release, the feel-good drama failed to impress the theatrical audience and earned below-average numbers at the box office. Vadivelu's strong performance The highlight of this film is Vadivelu's performance. He plays a stronger and more important role here than the serious character he played in 'Maamannan'. Critics praised his dimensional performance and Fahadh Faasil's naturally talented acting as a strong foundation for the film. The conflicts and emotional scenes between the two in particular were considered to be best reflected on screen.
