"You can't ask questions": AAP leader Saurabh Bhardwaj slams govt on Air India Plane Crash
New Delhi [India], June 14 (ANI): Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Saurabh Bhardwaj on Friday launched a sharp attack on the ruling government over the growing concerns over public safety in India. He questioned, through a series of tragedies that have happened in recent months, asking for the government's accountability for rising accidents and crime incidents.
In a post on X, Bhardwaj said, 'You go for a vacation in Kashmir, and terrorists shoot you point blank. You go to a Kumbh and it ends in a stampede, killing many. You go to a Railway station, you can get killed again in a stampede. You go in a flight for work/vacation, and it crashes. You are studying in your hostel, and the plane falls on you. Rapes, extortion, murders are everyday happening around u. But you can't ask Questions because No one of responsible.'
The Aam Aadmi Party leader's remark came after the Al-171 Boeing Dreamliner 787-8 aeroplane bound for London's Gatwick crashed shortly after taking off from the Ahmedabad International Airport on Thursday.
The airlines said only one out of the 242 people on board the aircraft survived the crash.
The aircraft was piloted by Captain Sumeet Sabharwal, a Line Training Captain with 8,200 hours of flying experience, assisted by First Officer Clive Kundar, who had logged 1,100 flying hours.
According to Air Traffic Control (ATC), the aircraft departed from Ahmedabad at 1339 IST (0809 UTC) from runway 23. It made a Mayday call to ATC, but thereafter, the aircraft did not respond to the calls.
Immediately after departing Runway 23, the aircraft crashed outside the airport perimeter, and heavy black smoke began emanating from the accident site.
There were 169 Indian nationals, 53 British nationals, seven Portuguese nationals, and one Canadian national on board the crashed plane, airline authorities said. (ANI)

Maharashtra: 4 Bangladeshi migrants held at a labour camp in Kondhwa
The Military Intelligence (MI) unit of the Indian Army's Southern Command and the Pune city police arrested four Bangladeshi migrants from a labour camp in Kondhwa Budruk on Friday evening. Police have identified the accused as Swapan Nidhubhushan Mandal (39), Mithunkumar Dilip Mandal (31), Randhir Kumar Mandal (37) and Dilip Mandal (38), all natives of Bangladeshi, currently residing illegally in Pune city. An FIR was lodged against them at the Kondhwa police station under relevant sections of the Foreigners Act and the Passport Act. According to the FIR, based on information received from the Military Intelligence, a team from Kondhwa police station, led by senior inspector Vinay Patankar and assistant inspector Sachin Thorat, nabbed the four suspects at KEC labour camp on the Punyadham Ashram Road in Kondhwa Budruk. During interrogation, it was revealed that all four suspects are from Bangladesh. Police suspect they entered India illegally by crossing the international border at West Bengal individually over the last few years. A probe is on to know how they crossed the international border without any permission and then procured Indian documents such as Aadhaar card, Pan cards and voter ID cards. Sources in the police said the accused were initially working in Kolkata and other cities, but shifted to Pune a few months ago and were working on a construction site. Police suspect they are in possession of their Bangladeshi identity documents. Police have seized their cell phones and sim cards for investigation.

Visiting the Air India flight AI-171 crash site at Ahmedabad on Saturday (June 14, 2025), Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge said the government must fix accountability and not adopt a stance that 'accidents do happen'. I would also like to say that nobody should try to take credit by visiting the site or meeting the injured and then getting photos clicked,' Mr. Kharge said. Though he did not name anyone, Mr. Kharge's remarks seemed to be a reference to Union Home Minister Amit Shah's comments after visiting the crash site on Thursday (June 12, 2025), when he said: 'I want to tell you one thing. It was an accident. No one can stop accidents.' Compensation and accountability At the Ahmedabad Civil Hospital, Mr. Kharge met injured people, including the lone survivor of the plane crash, and others injured on the ground, including medical students. He later told reporters that the Centre must give compensation to the kin of the deceased and to the injured. After that, we will raise demands accordingly,'he said. AICC general secretary and Wayanad MP Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, who is on a two-day tour of Kerala, also said it was the time to be 'united in grief'. 'It is a moment where we need to stand together and just provide solidarity,' she said. 'It is being investigated. I am sure the investigating agencies will in the next few days enlighten the nation as to what happened. Revanth extends all out support to Telugu Film industry, urges collaboration for Telangana's $3 trillion vision
HYDERABAD Reaffirming his commitment to the Telugu film industry, Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy urged the bigwigs of Tollywood to put aside their previous issues with the government and be a part of the State's mission of achieving a $3 trillion economy by 2047. 'Even if the government seems a bit strict at times, it is only for your development,' he said. Speaking at the maiden Telangana Gaddar Film Awards (TGFA) ceremony at Hitex here on Saturday, Mr. Reddy urged the film industry to prepare a comprehensive plan for its development and submit it to the government, assuring that all necessary support would be provided. Recalling the history of recognising cinema in the region, Mr. Reddy said the Congress government instituted the Nandi Awards in 1964, a tradition that was carried on in undivided Andhra Pradesh. He lamented that no film awards were given for the last 14 years, pointing to the neglect by previous governments. 'I will be in active politics for another 22 years, and regardless of my position, I will continue to support the growth of Telugu cinema,' he said.
