This Hellcat Minivan Isn't Quite What It Seems

For years people have been joking about Dodge making a Hellcat minivan, something which will likely never be a production reality. But some guys with a shop decided to take on such a feat by themselves. The thing is how they went about it is so different from what an automaker and even a lot of builders would do, we doubt most people just looking at the thing would even suspect what it really is.After all, watching a minivan roast its rear tires while hearing a Hemi V8 roar and the huge supercharger whine is a boatload of fun. We've seen people modify Chrysler minivans before and literally burn rubber, but this one seems so much more appropriate.
Maybe that's the purist in us talking because a Mopar minivan should have a Mopar powertrain. But there's so much more going on with this build than just a powertrain swap. And we're not talking about how they had to also transplant the dash from the Hellcat to get everything to work.
These guys from the YouTube channel Rich Rebuilds cut the body of a Dodge Charger Hellcat, keeping the chassis, powertrain, and interior intact. Then they did the same thing with a Chrysler Town & Country, attaching the minivan body to the Hellcat chassis.
We've seen this sort of thing done before, including a minivan body grafted onto a Tesla Model S Plaid chassis. But this isn't what most people would expect to have going on under the skin when they first see a Hellcat minivan.
While it absolutely works and the thing looks spectacular once they wrap it in Plum Crazy, it would be cool to see how someone would shoehorn a Hellcat's powertrain into a Chrysler Town & Country or maybe a Pacifica.
Check out the second video to see these guys putting some of the finishing touches on their build before hauling it to a shop for a full roll cage to be installed. We can't wait to see this thing on a track!

Disneyland Autotopia Car Crashes Off The Track
Read the full story on Backfire News One of the cars at the Disneyland Autotopia ride in Anaheim, California went off the track, crashing in the dirt and foliage. We've been on the ride ourselves many times and never imagined such a thing was even possible with all the guardrails and such, but there are photos and video to prove it Disney and theme park aficionado Laughing Place posted the photos and video of the crash aftermath to X. While he was just as shocked as we were, he did note it didn't appear anyone was injured in the freak incident, which is a good thing. After all, we can't have any tragedies in the happiest place on earth, right? While we would think this is a first in the ride's 70 year history, it's apparently not even close. Another X user called The Infernoman who claims to have been at one point a trainer and working lead for the Autotopia ride confirmed this sort of thing has happened in the past. Saying it was 'very rare,' the guy said he has seen a car go completely off the tracks in the past, noting the off-road part of the ride is where it's most likely to occur. He goes on to explain that if one of the cars is hit hard from behind in the area where you make a U-turn, it could in fact get knocked off the track. That might be why workers at the ride emphasize not ramming into the back of the car in front of you. The ride was immediately shut down and everyone in the cars had to get out and walk to the exit with help from employees. Disneyland had the ride up and running again soon after the incident, so whatever happened it must have been an easy fix. This Nash Metropolitan Is Really A Suzuki Samurai
Read the full story on Backfire News People sure are getting creative with body swaps these days, but this Nash Metropolitan on a Suzuki Samurai is unexpectedly cool. Laugh all you want, we know the Jeep bandwagon will, but the Samurai is a respectable rig that won't break the bank. And showing up Wranglers in your Nash Metropolitan-bodied rig would be absolutely never really thought about the fact the Suzuki Samurai is of similar size to a Nash, but now that we do it's not surprising in the least. Back in the day, Nash was making economy cars when people didn't care about fuel consumption and such. They were weird and lacked broad market appeal. The Samurai was similarly mocked back in the late 80s and early 90s. Sure, they weren't fast and they looked like little toys, but it's like people don't realize the original jeeps (before they were a brand name) were made to be small, lightweight, and maneuverable. There are a lot of cool details about this build, like the fact it has a removable fiberglass top so you can enjoy open-air off-roading just like the Jeeps (but the doors say on). There is of course a roll cage, just in case things get a little tipsy. The turquoise and white paint is actually Raptor bed liner, so it can take a beating and not get all scratched up. That same stuff has been applied to the roll cage and the interior surfaces. Even better, the guy who built this has a tow bar and light so it can be towed to a trailhead. We imagine it's not really great on the interstate, but most good off-roaders aren't built for highway cruising anyway. According to the seller, who has this listed on Facebook Marketplace, this rig has won all kind of awards at car shows and has been in parades and such. If you're in the market for a unique off-roader, this could be it. Plus, at $14,500 you're not going to find many cheaper options that aren't riddled with problems. Got Hemi? See Which 2026 Ram 1500 Pickup Trucks Get the Revived V-8
Back by popular demand, the 5.7-liter Hemi V-8 is returning to the 2026-model-year Ram 1500. While the Hemi will come with Ram's eTorque mild hybrid powertrain—which it included before it left the lineup after 2025—fans of the brand surely will be paying closer attention to regaining access to that sweet, sweet V-8 power and noise. While full 2026 Ram 1500 information isn't out yet (we'll update this space when it is), we do know which '26 Ram 1500s will offer the V-8 as an option, and how much it will cost. That's right, the V-8 may be back, but it isn't standard equipment. Looking over the 2026 Ram 1500 trims, the 5.7-liter Hemi V-8 will be offered as an option on everything but the desert-bombing RHO and high-zoot Tungsten. As before, the 1500 Tradesman, Express, and Big Horn/Lone Star continue to come standard with Stellantis' aging 3.6-liter Pentastar V-6 engine. In a surprising turn, the Warlock adopts the Pentastar as standard kit, too; the 420-hp Standard Output (SO) twin-turbo 3.0-liter Hurricane inline-six engine it previously came with is now an option, alongside the resurrected Hemi it temporarily replaced for 2025. The Rebel keeps the SO Hurricane six as standard equipment, while Limited and Longhorn will again get the burlier 540-hp 3.0-liter Hurricane I-6 High Output (HO) standard. For those models that can offer the Hemi, there will be an upcharge for it on all but the Limited and Longhorn trims, where it'll be offered as a no-cost option. Here's a look at the powertrain options on the 2026 Ram 1500 lineup: To unlock the Hemi V-8's 395 hp and 410 lb-ft of torque, you'll need to spend $1,200. That slots the V-8 just below the 420-hp and 469-lb-ft 3.0-liter I-6 Hurricane SO in Ram's powertrain hierarchy—the twin-turbo six is a $2,695 upgrade for the Tradesman, Express, Warlock, and Big Horn/Lone Star. The Laramie and Rebel get the Hurricane SO as standard, with the Hemi an option. While order books are open and all 2026 Ram 1500s with the Hemi (save for the Rebel that will arrive later) should arrive by this summer, pricing for the 2026 model year, along with other details such as paint colors and trim changes, have yet to be announced—but we should see that soon.
