Ferrari driver gets a taste of karma after brainless move on Sydney's iconic Bronte-to-Coogee walk
The high-end vehicle, believed to be a Ferrari Roma or California, veered off Tamarama Marine Drive around 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, mounting the kerb and crashing through the barrier on the edge of the packed coastal path.
Emergency services rushed to the scene, and miraculously, no one was injured.
The driver, a 22-year-old man, returned a negative result to both roadside breath and drug tests but was issued a traffic infringement notice for negligent driving following police inquiries.
'Not the kind of street art we like to see on the Bronte bend,' one local page joked, sharing a picture of the mangled Ferrari.
Many residents weren't surprised.
'This guy's always hooning up and down, exhaust screaming,' said one commenter. 'Honestly, good outcome no one was hurt.'
'Karma,' another said.

Mark Latham addresses the most shocking claim in ex-girlfriend's AVO claim: 'Defecation'
Former Labor leader Mark Latham has confirmed a claim by his ex-lover Nathalie Matthews that he defecated on her, but insisted he was simply following orders. The independent NSW upper house MP has provided a sordid account of the couple's relationship, including that Ms Matthews called him 'master' during sex, in a 13-page affidavit filed in Sydney 's Downing Centre Local Court on July 31. Despite confirming some of the more graphic claims included in Ms Matthews' prior AVO application, Latham firmly denied any allegations of mistreatment. 'Ms Matthews and myself participated in an entirely consensual, open sexual and social arrangement free of coercion, intimidation and harassment,' he wrote. In his first public acknowledgement of the defecation claims, Latham claimed it occurred only once, which was for Ms Matthews' sexual gratification. 'She asked me to s*** on her in the bathroom once because it turned her on,' he wrote in the affidavit, first obtained by the Sunday Telegraph. 'I did that but said we wouldn't be doing it again.' He also claimed that Ms Matthews initiated the 'consensual subservience' aspects of their relationship. 'As a reflection of this desire, she insisted on calling me 'master' and that I use this nomenclature,' Latham wrote. 'She was a highly powered sexual woman who knew what she liked and how to get it.' Latham claimed the role play allowed Ms Matthews to 'orgasm multiple times'. He also claimed in the affidavit that Ms Matthews had up to 20 sexual partners during their two-year relationship. Daily Mail does not suggest the claims are true, only that they have been made in an application to the NSW Local Court. Daily Mail has contacted Latham and Ms Matthews for comment. The affidavit paints a different version of events from that provided by Ms Matthews in her application for a restraining order against Latham, first seen by The Australian. The 37-year-old alleges Latham, 64, inflicted 'a sustained pattern' of psychological, financial and emotional abuse against her for almost three years. She further alleges Latham demanded she refer to him as 'master' and framed the defecation as one element of an abusive relationship. 'Throughout our relationship, the defendant engaged in a sustained pattern of emotional, physical, sexual, psychological, and financial abuse, including defecating on me before sex and refusing to let me wash,' she wrote. Latham was the federal Labor Opposition Leader between 2003 and 2005, when he lost his bid for the nation's top job at the 2004 federal election to former Liberal prime minister John Howard. He retired from politics in 2005 before joining the Liberal Democratic Party in 2017, leading to his expulsion from his former party. Latham joined One Nation's NSW branch in 2018, but was sacked as its leader in 2023 and now sits as an Independent. He has denied all abuse accusations, claiming that he had 'scores of documents' which would vindicate him, and enjoyed a 'fantastic' sex life with Ms Matthews. Ms Matthews describes herself as the managing director of Skynet Global Logistics, a company involved in freight forwarding which has a presence in Sydney, Perth and Dubai. Latham and Ms Matthews began dating in 2023 and ended their relationship earlier this year. The matter will return to court next month.

Major setback in gay student's discrimination claim against Macquarie University
A homosexual student has lost a battle against Macquarie University after claiming his placement at a Catholic school resulted in discrimination and victimisation. Sydney teaching student Simon Margan argued the university should have known it was 'dangerous' to assign him to a Catholic school for a three-week placement in October 2022. He argued the university was aware of his sexuality and that it was a 'notorious fact' that religious schools are opposed to LGBT + rights. NSW Civil and Administrative Tribunal rejected the complaint from proceeding to a full hearing in a decision published on Friday. 'I have refused to give Mr Margan permission for his complaints of homosexual discrimination and victimisation against the university to go ahead,' Deputy President, Acting Judge Nancy Hennessy ruled. 'The conduct which Mr Margan has identified as being detrimental to him as a homosexual person or which he perceives as being unfair, dangerous or done in retribution for complaining, is lacking in substance. Mr Margan's complaints against Macquarie University were twofold. He claimed the institution discriminated against him by assigning him to the school, despite concerns being raised and initiated a 'fitness-to-practise' process after he requested to be removed from the placement. Mr Margan also complained that the university 'victimised' him in refusing to allow him to withdraw from the course without penalty after he complained the Catholic school had discriminated against him and harassed him. He also claimed that Macquarie University exposed him to 'additional detriment' when it informed the Catholic school of his complaints during the placement. According to the findings, Mr Margan initially said his only preference regarding his placement location was that the school was accessible by public transport. He did not take advantage of the preference system the university requested he use and was ultimately assigned to the Catholic school. Mr Margan did not dispute this, but argued he was never asked if he objected to being assigned to a religious school and made his homosexuality and objections to placement at a religious school known. He further claimed he had little time to raise objections, given he was assigned to the school just five days before he was due to start After receiving an 'unsatisfactory' grade for the placement, the university implemented 'fitness-to-practise' processes relating to Mr Margan. He then requested assistance from the university relating to his grade and the 'problem of harassment' he said he faced during the placement. The university asked Mr Margan to make a formal complaint and told him the 'fitness-to-practise' process would be suspended while investigations proceeded. About three months later, the university found there was no evidence of harassment or discrimination. However, it rule that the university failed to give Mr Margan sufficient opportunity to withdraw from his studies after he was allocated to the Catholic school and that the school supervisor failed to give him adequate feedback. He was given permission to withdraw from the placement unit without penalty and the 'fitness-to-practise' process was abandoned. Acting Judge Hennessy found that Mr Margan's claims of discrimination and victimisation lacked substance. 'Contrary to Mr Margan's submission, there is no duty of care under the Anti-Discrimination Act for the University to take 'every reasonable precaution to prevent the reasonably foreseeable harm' of being placed in a Catholic school'. 'Even if the university placed Mr Margan in a Catholic school knowing that he is homosexual, that is not a breach of the Anti-Discrimination Act. 'Nor has the university victimised Mr Margan by subjecting him to a 'detriment' because he complained about harassment or discrimination by staff at the school.'

The chilling moment kids of some of Sydney's most elite families were rocked by vile child abuse allegations
Some of Sydney 's most privileged and wealthy families have been caught up in the latest disturbing childcare sex abuse allegations after the city's top schools were named in the investigation. Hundreds of homes across the city were sent chilling letters from the principals of many of Sydney's most elite private schools. Childcare worker David William James, it said, had worked at their children's school and was charged with making sex tapes and child abuse material in school toilets. James himself is a former private schoolboy, who was a student at elite Knox Grammar on Sydney's leafy north shore. He was subsequently employed there as an out of hours child care worker at his old school, where fees reach up to $80,000 a year. But he had also worked in similar roles at after-hours childcare at St Andrew's Cathedral School ($63,000 a year), Barker College ($79,000 a year), and Ravenswood School for Girls ($56,000 a year). In total, he worked in after-hours childcare at almost 60 different schools and locations across Sydney, in some of the city's wealthiest areas on the north shore and in the CBD, inner west and eastern suburbs. Police charged him with 12 offences including nine counts of aggravated use of a child under 14 to make child abuse material, using a child under 14 to make child abuse material, and two counts of possessing child abuse material. James, 26, is accused of standing behind primary school-aged boys using the urinal and sexually touching himself behind them. He allegedly took explicit photos of ten children aged between five and six at out-of-school-hours care over three years between 2021 and 2024. Police are now confident that any alleged offending was restricted to a handful of locations, including one where he worked for just a single day. The six childcare centres where the alleged offending took place were: Willoughby Kids House (where he worked for one day), Helping Hands - St Ives Public School, Helping Hands – Lane Cove West, Pyrmont OSHC - City of Sydney, St Ives OSHC Centre - KIDZONE, and Barker College's OSHClub. Australian Federal Police have sought to reassure the parents of pupils at the 52 other schools where he worked that they have nothing to worry about. Nonetheless, many parents are left wondering whether further terrible allegations may yet emerge, even if James worked at their school's OSHC for just one day. James worked at scores of out-of-school-hours centres with children and other providers also kept him employed on a casual basis. Police allege offences occured at only six of the 58 OSHC Centres where he has worked over the last six years. However, authorities have only just notified the other 52 out-of-hours school services where James worked between March 2018 and September 2024, leaving parents to question the emails they were sent by their school heads. Australian Federal Police say they do not believe any alleged offending took place at those 52 other centres. The list includes other elite private schools such as St Luke's Anglican Grammar School, Fort Street Selective High School and a fleet of Catholic primary schools. Federal police only revealed the scale of its operation after a non publication order about identifying James was lifted in Sydney's Downing Centre Local Court. Junior Adventure Centres, which runs three of the centres where the alleged abuse is said to have taken place, issued a statement on the day news broke of James arrest. It admited it was 'only just finding out details of alleged offences, with the Non-Publication Order (NPO) being lifted today. 'We fully understand how distressing this matter is, and we share the immense upset and concern surrounding it. 'We have been co-operating with police and doing all that we can to assist them in their investigation. We are now contacting all our parents at the centres the AFP has listed.' Parents of student at St Andrew's Cathedral School were also alerted to the investigation, but with a more reassuring update. 'Mr David James, who was named in the media today, was assigned to our OOSHC for one shift, five or more years ago,' it read. 'There is no suggestion that the current charges against him relate to current or former students of St Andrew's Cathedral School. 'St Andrew's Cathedral School has been contacted by the Australian Federal Police today to advise us that our OOSHC service is NOT under investigation.'
