Nintendo Miis are post-gender on Switch 2
When you're creating a new avatar, the console simply asks you to "Select a style for your Mii." The styles look like the same stock models that several previous hardware generations used as their male and female models, but the Switch 2 has no pronouns or other gender signifiers attached to either one. Although Nintendo isn't making any assumptions about Mii gender, it does acknowledge that some games might do so. The second line of the creator screen says, "Some games may use style as a gender indicator."
Nintendo has previously used genderless language within individual games. That was the case for character creation in recent titles Splatoon 3 and Animal Crossing: New Horizons , so it seems in line with the company's current approach to put that neutral attitude at the hardware level.

You can now try Microsoft's Gaming Copilot AI assistant on PC
Microsoft revealed that it was working on an AI chatbot specifically for gamers back in March, and now it's here for a test drive. The beta version of Gaming Copilot is available to Xbox Insiders on PC via the Game Bar functionality. It's also available to try on Windows-based handheld gaming devices, but the company says the functionality there is currently limited. A variant of this tool recently launched as a beta for mobile . This is kind of like an AI version of those old Nintendo phone help lines. The chat box appears as an overlay on the screen and players can use it to ask questions about the game they're playing. Microsoft says this tool has been designed to help players traverse obstacles and that it "knows what you're playing and understands your Xbox activity." The system uses in-game screenshots to make sure it's providing useful advice. With that in mind, Gaming Copilot can also offer suggestions about new games to buy and answer questions about system accounts. It allows for text-based and voice-based queries, assuming a microphone is connected. Microsoft says it'll be adding more features in the future, including "richer game assistance such as proactive coaching." The beta build of Gaming Copilot is only available in English at the moment, though it can be used in various regions including the US, New Zealand, Japan and Singapore.

South Park uses new Paramount deal to take immediate shots at Trump and his manhood
Yesterday, Matt Stone and Trey Parker officially secured a shiny new $1.5 billion contract with Paramount to produce at least five more years of South Park. A few hours later, they released an episode that seems almost engineered to make the new bosses regret that decision. South Park is really back, baby! Stone and Parker didn't pull a single punch when it came to their coverage of Trump in last night's season 27 premiere, titled 'Sermon On The Mount.' And we do mean literal Donald J. Trump, as the show emblazoned in gold on the screen during a photorealistic, deep-fake PSA depicting the president ripping his clothes off in the desert. (No more animated Mr. Garrison as a stand-in.) The PSA came near the end of the episode, as the citizens of South Park settled a lawsuit with Trump for $3.5 million, sort of like another famous settlement you may have read about recently. As part of that settlement, the town was required to mount a series of 'pro-Trump messaging,' including the aforementioned PSA. In it, the naked president gets an erection that's, uh, quite small. 'Trump: his penis is teeny-tiny, but his love for us is large,' a voiceover says over the shot. This isn't the only shot at Trump's (tiny) package throughout the episode. Earlier, he's depicted—with a photo of his real face on an animated body—lying in bed with Satan. 'Come on, Satan, you know you can't resist this,' Trump says while exposing himself. 'I can't even see anything because it's so small,' Satan responds. South Park's streaming rights may have gone for $300 million per year, but likely pissing off the leader of the free world? The Switch OLED went up in price, but you can still save $110
Nintendo recently made the unexpected decision to increase the prices of its last-gen Switch hardware due to 'market conditions,' adding $30 to the cost of the $199.99 Switch Lite, $40 to the standard $299.99 Switch, and $50 to the $349.99 Switch OLED. The price difference between the Switch OLED and the standalone Switch 2 now stands at a mere $50. But we found a deal that's worth checking out for those who don't want to spend anywhere near $400 for a Switch OLED. Woot is still offering the Switch OLED that comes with white Joy-Con controllers and a free download code for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, which is one of the console's best games. You'll pay just $289.99 at Woot, which was already a good deal at the OLED's original $349.99 price, let alone compared to its new, inflated price. This deal is available for the next four days, or until supply runs dry. The Nintendo Switch OLED Model: Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Bundle includes a digital copy of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. While the Switch 2 is currently getting all of the attention, the Switch OLED remains a great choice due to its vast game library full of modern classics. Some of its games may run better on the Switch 2, but you'll still get the same experience overall on the last-gen console. In fact, the Switch OLED's screen is superior in some ways to what's offered in the newer hardware. Looking past the facts that it's a smaller 720p screen and locked to 60Hz refresh rate, the OLED panel knocks the socks off the Switch 2's LCD when it comes to color accuracy, contrast, and brightness control. Since there's an abundance of vibrant games available for the console, including Super Mario Odyssey and The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening, to name a couple, the Switch OLED's screen will likely impress whoever's playing on it. Something to note: The discounted Switch OLED model is the 'International version,' and the biggest difference between this and something you can get at Walmart or Target is that it has a 90-day warranty through Woot. If you can look past that, it includes a power adapter for US outlets, and the console itself is region-free, meaning that games from any region will play as intended.
