High alert in Rajasthan; two airports closed, schools shut in 3 border districts

Meanwhile Air India in its tweet said, "In view of the prevailing situation, Air India has cancelled all its flights to and from the following stations – Jammu, Srinagar, Leh, Jodhpur, Amritsar, Bhuj, Jamnagar, Chandigarh and Rajkot – till 12 noon on 7 May, pending further updates from authorities. Two international flights en route to Amritsar are being diverted to Delhi. We regret the inconvenience caused due to this unforeseen disruption."
Around 2 a.m., the sounds of fighter jets were heard in many areas of Jaisalmer-Barmer.
Eyewitnesses said that at first it seemed that India was doing some exercise, but later it came to light that India had carried out an airstrike.
Meanwhile, officials said that four flights, which were going to the states near the Pakistan border, have been cancelled at Jaipur airport. Flight operations from Bikaner airport have also been stopped.
Bikaner District Collector Namrata Vrishni has cancelled the leaves of all the officers and employees of the district. All employees will have to attend their workplace as usual. A mock drill is to be held in Bikaner on Wednesday.
Officials said that leave of any officer or employee will not be accepted till further orders.
Government and private schools in the border district of Bikaner have also been closed on Wednesday. Final exams are going on in the school these days, which have been postponed.
District Education Officer Ramgopal Sharma has given these orders on the orders of the District Collector. Meanwhile, people in the border areas of Rajasthan rejoiced and were seen celebrating the demolition of terrorist hideouts. People in Barmer said that India has taken revenge by conducting airstrikes.

Kochi-Delhi Air India flight aborts takeoff, MPs on board share ordeal: ‘Felt like flight skid on runway'
An Air India flight AI 504, scheduled to fly from Kochi to Delhi in the early hours of Monday, faced an unexpected delay. According to officials, the aircraft aborted the takeoff due to a technical issue and returned to the bay. The Cochin International Airport Limited (CIAL) said the revised time of departure was 1:00 am on Monday. In a statement, the CIAL said, 'A technical issue caused an Air India flight bound for Delhi to abort the takeoff. Air India is rectifying it and has informed Cochin International Airport Limited (CIAL) that they are changing the aircraft. The expected new time of departure is 0100 hrs.' The incident came to light after Congress MP Hibi Eden, who was on board the flight, posted on social media that the aircraft seemed to have skidded on the runway. "Something unusual with this flight AI just felt like the flight skid on the hasn't taken off yet...." he wrote in a Facebook post. Rajya Sabha MP Jebi Mather, who was also on board, said the pilot later announced that the aircraft could not be used for travel. "Now pilot aircraft cannot be used for travel. So, will be shifting passengers to another aircraft and approx by 1 am," Mather was quoted by news agency PTI as saying. An Air India spokesperson said that flight AI504 operating from Kochi to Delhi on 17 August has been rescheduled to depart later this evening, necessitated by a technical issue detected during the take-off roll. 'The cockpit crew decided to discontinue the take-off run, following Standard Operating Procedures and brought the aircraft back to bay for maintenance checks,' the statement read. It added, 'An alternative aircraft is being deployed to operate the flight. All passengers have disembarked and our ground colleagues in Kochi are extending support to them.' The airline regretted the inconvenience caused to the passengers due to this 'unforeseen situation'. 'At Air India, the safety and wellbeing of passengers and crew remain our top priority,' the airline said. Earlier on August 16, Flight AI138 — operating from Milan to Delhi — was cancelled due to a maintenance task identified during pushback, and subsequently due to the crew coming under the mandatory flight duty time limitation norms. 'Air India sincerely regrets the inconvenience caused to passengers due to this unforeseen cancellation,' an airline spokesperson said. 'Our ground team in Milan extended immediate assistance to all affected passengers, providing hotel accommodation and offering full refunds on cancellation or complimentary rescheduling as opted by the passengers,' the spokesperson added. 'Alternative arrangements are being made to fly the passengers to their destination at the earliest. Terror accused from Dharmavaram sent to 14-day judicial remand
Tirupati: The Kadiri court sent Kothwal Noor Mohammed, a 42-year-old man from Dharmavaram, suspected to have links with Pakistani terror outfits, to 14-day judicial remand to Kadapa central prison on Sunday. Some of these WhatsApp groups included that of Jaish-e-Mohammed, Sadayi-Jihad, Maqbhuj Ki Awaz, Nazir-Aathi students open political group in Pakistan and Khafiran ki Lia Talwar. Noor Mohammed was also preparing himself to go abroad for training if any terror outfit provided him with an opportunity. The police investigation revealed that Mohammed, who worked as a biryani and tea master at a local hotel, was involved in brainwashing local youngsters visiting the local mosque. The police seized a mobile phone and some literature linked to the jihadi campaign from Mohammed's possession. The mobile phone has been sent to a forensic lab for analysis to uncover the depth of his involvement in cross-border terrorism activities. Addressing a press conference at Puttaparthi on Sunday, Sri Sathya Sai district SP V Rathna stated that the police department will seek the custody of Mohammed for further questioning once the forensic lab reports arrive. The police are investigating Mohammed's background, including his family and how he acquired funds to build a new house with modern amenities. Mohammed was booked under various sections of the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act-1967 and the BNS Act.
