We've had plenty of teasers, but on Thursday morning Hulu finally released the first full trailer for the upcoming sci-fi horror series "Alien: Earth". While watching the new extended preview, it's impossible to not think of the original 1979 film that started it all. You can watch the trailer below.

The official synopsis for "Alien: Earth" reads: "In the year 2120, the Earth is governed by five corporations: Prodigy, Weyland-Yutani, Lynch, Dynamic and Threshold. In this Corporate Era, cyborgs (humans with both biological and artificial parts) and synthetics (humanoid robots with artificial intelligence) exist alongside humans."
"But the game is changed when the wunderkind Founder and CEO of Prodigy Corporation unlocks a new technological advancement: hybrids (humanoid robots infused with human consciousness)."

We see what appears to be the birth of the hybrid Wendy early in the trailer, when a girl who appears to be terminally ill has her consciousness transferred into the body of an android.
The trailer also gives us some brief but promising looks at the other aliens who will be a problem for the heroes in "Alien: Earth". Rather than just the xenomorph, we learn that the crashed ship was transporting four other alien species.
We get what appear to be very quick glimpses at some of those other species in the trailer; including something that looks like a small, squid-like creature.
"Alien: Earth" will premiere on Hulu on Tuesday, August 12 on Hulu and FX. The series debuts with a two episode premiere. Fans outside the US will be able to watch the episodes on Disney+. After the premiere, episodes will release one at a time weekly.
"Alien: Earth" stars Sydney Chandler, Alex Lawther, Timothy Olyphant, Samuel Blenkin, David Rysdahl, Essie Davis, Adarsh Gourav, Babou Ceesay, Diem Camille, Moe Bar-El, Erana James, and Kit Young.
The series was created by showrunner Noah Hawley, known for acclaimed series such as "Fargo" and "Legion".

The Tony-nominated play starring George Clooney, which was adapted from the 2005 Oscar-nominated film written by Clooney and Grant Heslov, will air its penultimate performance. The play tells the story of veteran journalist Edward R. Murrow taking on Sen. Joseph McCarthy during the Red Scare of the 1950s. The performance airs Saturday at 7 p.m. ET/4 p.m. PT on CNN. It will stream on CNN's website, as well as Max. The 78th Annual Tony Awards: If you need more theater in your life after watching Clooney do his thing (who doesn't?), then you're in luck! The Tony Awards — arguably the best of the major awards shows thanks to the rousing live performances that give it non-stop energy — will honor the best of the stage. Cynthia Erivo hosts the spectacle, which features performances by the casts of Gypsy, Sunset Boulevard, Just in Time, Death Becomes Her, and more. As a bonus, the original cast of Hamilton is reuniting to celebrate the show's 10th anniversary (doesn't it feel much longer?). The telecast airs Sunday at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT on CBS. Ben Affleck reprises his role as Christian Wolff, an autistic man who's a genius with numbers and also really good with guns. He works as an accountant for criminal organizations while also serving as an informant for the Treasury's financial crimes division. In The Accountant 2, Affleck is joined by Jon Bernthal as Christian's soldier-for-hire brother Braxton, who had a small role in the first film but gets bumped up to basically co-lead here. When Christian needs help with a job, he calls on his estranged brother, and they reconnect as they go on a gun-toting road trip together. It's literally Rain Man as an action thriller. It's funnier than the original, and Affleck and Bernthal are very entertaining together. After a modest theatrical run, it's now streaming on Prime Video, which makes sense; it's very much in the same vein as the Road House remake, one of the streaming service's biggest original hits. If you're math-phobic, here are some other movies to stream or watch on-demand this weekend: : Director Dan Trachtenberg's quest to revitalize the Predator franchise continues with this animated feature that's now streaming on Hulu. The bloody action flick is something of an anthology movie, as warriors from various time periods — a Viking, a ninja in feudal Japan, and a World War II pilot — go up against a Predator alien who sees them as a challenge. It's Trachtenberg's second released Predator movie, after 2022's cult favorite Prey, and will be followed by live-action thriller Predator: Badlands later this year. : Robert De Niro and Robert De Niro star in this Mafia drama. De Niro plays dual roles as 1950s mobsters Vito Genovese and Frank Costello as they fight for control of the Luciano family. It tells famous tales of Mafia history in a way you've seen many times before, but De Niro, screenwriter Nicholas Pileggi (Goodfellas), and director Barry Sonnenfeld (Bugsy) know what they're doing. There are three actors from The Sopranos in the supporting cast — Kathrine Narducci, Michael Rispoli, and Matt Servitto — if that's something you take into account in deciding whether to watch a mob movie. The Alto Knights flopped in theaters but is looking to find a second life on Max. : Writer-director-producer Tyler Perry is back with a new Netflix drama. Taraji P. Henson stars as Janiyah, a woman at the end of her rope. She's a single mother having an exceptionally bad day. She gets evicted from her apartment, robbed, and disrespected everywhere she goes. She just needs to deposit her check at the bank so she can pay for her daughter's medicine, and when even that goes wrong, she ends up a suspect in a crime she didn't mean to commit, and it turns into a hostage situation. It's a film that empathizes with everyone who is just a few bad breaks away from calamity. The supporting cast includes Sherri Shepherd, Teyana Taylor, and Sinbad. A sure sign that the weather's changing is the arrival of fresh singles aiming to be the season-defining hit. And previous title-holder Sabrina Carpenter is throwing her hat back into the ring with "Manchild," a country-influenced ode to the dim men in her life with a little disco thrown into the mix. The video accompanying the release feels like a deliciously overstuffed trailer for an off-the-wall '70s road movie. Ahead of the release of "First Steps" on July 25, Marvel Studios have debuted composer Michael Giacchino's full main theme for the Fantastic Four. Sonically, the track is a mix of bright mid-century retro-futurism and some more spacey synth. Disney is also releasing the theme on a "Galactic Blue" 7-inch LP, which is available for pre-order here. Get your first listen below. We Know When Wicked For Good's Trailer Will Be Debuting, But There's A Bit Of A Catch

Chu's Wicked: For Good is a 'hotly anticipated' entry on the 2025 movie schedule. Anyone having doubts about my prediction could easily point to the fact that despite Universal's 2025 CinemaCon panel showing off some footage of the picture, fans haven't had the chance to gaze upon a trailer for the conclusion of this Oz-ified musical story yet. Well, I've got some good news and some news you might not be too pleased with, as you'll be able to see Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande in full regalia real soon. However, it sounds like there's only one way you'll be able to get back to Oz for For Good's first trailer, and you'll have to click more than your heels. First, here's the good news: per a press release from Universal Pictures, the release of Wicked: For Good's first trailer is set to take place on June 4th! In fact, the event is being billed as something truly 'global,' as it's going to take place 'simultaneously in all North American time zones.' And that's where the catch comes in, as it sounds like you'll only be able to see this sizzle reel in theaters. But at least it's attached to special bring-back screenings of Wicked, which you can currently purchase tickets for. So it's not like you're showing up for a preview and then dipping to go back to lawn work. Now, I'm sure there are plenty of people who aren't afraid to return to a theater near them to see For Good's first trailer and laugh, cry, and potentially sing along with this meteoric box office hit of 2024. However, one has to wonder how many of those fans are ready to follow through with that desire, especially on a random Wednesday. Peacock TV: from $7.99 a month/$79.99 a yearAll it takes is $7.99 a month to jump into the basic plan for Peacock TV. But with that investment, you not only get to stream Wicked, but you'll also find the documentary Defying Gravity: The Curtain Rises on Wicked. And with a special live musical event heading to NBC and Peacock this fall, you may want to keep that subscription active and enjoy everything the streaming home of NBC, Universal, and Bravo has to offer! View Deal While I'm someone who always advocates for the theatrical experience, especially when revisiting old favorites, I'd be foolish not to mention that a Peacock subscription could very easily scratch this itch for some, and right at this very moment. However, it would seem that Universal has some surprises in store for those who do choose to fly into the western sky once more to see Wicked and its sequel's trailer in theaters. So if you do go to this Wicked screening on June 4th, there's apparently going to be exclusive 'giveaways' for attendees. While that's a rather vague promise, what's for certain is that you'll be able to land yourself a commemorative poster for Wicked: For Good. And it I had to guess, it'll be a print of the image you see below: Don't take this the wrong way, but I can practically hear fans weeping over the mere invocation of that title, and the image of Elphaba and Glinda separated by a wide chasm that leads down the Yellow Brick Road. I mean, this is everything you would want out of a teaser poster - and it looks pretty spectacular. Though I'm not a die-hard obsessive over Wicked, I did really enjoy the first half of Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande's journey. And while this isn't a $16K charity performance with Idina Menzel and Kristin Chenoweth, I'm inclined to check this out for myself. Provided, of course, that this announcement hasn't led to another case similar to how Sinners' second IMAX 70mm run instantly sold out. So if you're rejoicifying that Wicked will be back in theaters AND you'll get to see the first trailer for its sequel during this special screening, go grab your tickets now! And don't forget that Wicked: For Good is set to hit theaters on November 21st; which may lead to some unsurprising double feature events. At least, one could only hope.
