Meghan Markle's ex-pal 'splits with her husband after 16 years of marriage'

Daily Mirror3 days ago
Jessica Mulroney, the former best friend of Meghan Markle, is reportedly "sad but relieved" over her shock separation from her husband Ben, after also cutting ties with the Duchess of Sussex
Former best friend of Meghan Markle, Jessica Mulroney, has split from her husband after 16 years of marriage, according to reports.

After a turbulent few years, the Canadian stylist and her husband Ben are said to have parted ways, after she also lost contact with her former friend Meghan.

The fallout with the Duchess of Sussex was allegedly prompted by a racism row that left branded her as 'toxic' in the Toronto social scene, and no longer in touch with one of her closest friends. As news of the couple's separation broke, a Toronto source said that Jessica was not keeping quiet about her newly single status. It comes after Prince Harry's devastating loss in royal rift was exposed as Meghan 'holds the cards'.

The source told Page Six that Mulroney attended a wedding in recent weeks and was not wearing her wedding ring, and spoke freely about her separation to other wedding guests. In addition, her husband Ben didn't attend the nuptials.
"They've split," a Canadian source told the publication, "Jessica seemed sad, but also relieved to have some clarity." Another insider in the know confirmed they have separated "some time ago".

One of the last times that Mulroney mentioned Ben, with whom she shares three children, on her Instagram was back in March 2024 when she joked about them both forgetting their wedding anniversary.
Jessica's separation comes after her years-long friendship with Meghan came to a dramatic end several years ago. The women first bonded in Toronto when Meghan was working on the TV show Suits, years before she first met Prince Harry.
Meghan and Jessica quickly hit it off, and were spotted side-by-side through many monumental moments, including Meghan's 2018 wedding to Prince Harry, where her three children had roles in the ceremony. Jess is even said to have come along on one of Meghan and Harry's official royal tours to New Zealand, Australia, and Tsonga.

However, during the early days of the Covid pandemic in 2020, an incident saw Jessica be accused of "problematic" behaviour, is reported to have caused a major falling out between Meghan and Jess.
Amid the Black Lives Matter protests, lifestyle blogger Sasha Exeter alleged in an 11-minute video that after she had posted a Black Lives Matter call to action post, the two women had got into a row over DM and claimed Jess had threatened the blogger's connections with brands and sponsors.

"If you go to the press over this nonsense and threaten to go to your followers, I won't be afraid to go to brands and tell them what you are doing to me," Jess said in a message, which Sasha called "textbook white privilege" but said she didn't believe Jess was a "racist".
According to reports from the Daily Mail, Jessica made a point of Meghan's mixed race background in a comment on the video, saying to Sasha she was "unequivocally sorry", adding: "As I told you privately, I have lived a very public and personal experience with my closest friend where race was front and centre. It was deeply educational." Jessica issued a multitude of public apologies.

Page Six reported at the time that the controversy gave Meghan the "excuse" she had wanted for some time to cut her best pal off. A source was quoted as saying that Meghan had already felt like Jess was trying to boost her professional opportunities based on her close bond with the Duchess, and "'make a career out of the friendship".
The insider added: "The white privilege row has really given Meghan the excuse she was waiting for to cut Jess off for good...I don't know what the tipping point was, but Jess has been on the outs for some time."

Ozzy Osbourne's final resting place is nod to infamous career moment

Ozzy Osbourne once said he didn't want to be remembered as the man who bit off the head of a bat, but the acclaimed musician's burial place had a cheeky nod to the infamous moment. The Black Sabbath frontman passed away on July 22 at age 76 and was laid to rest this week on the grounds of his mansion in England. That means the singer was buried just a stone's throw away from multiple bat boxes — man-made structures designed to provide shelter for bats. He had them installed in his Buckinghamshire abode in 2022 — a possible attempt to make amends years after he was slammed by animal rights activists for ripping the head off a bat with his teeth live on stage, which he later defended by saying he thought it was fake. A source close to the singer told the Daily Mail that the irony of him being laid to rest so close to the bat habitats did not go unnoticed amongst his loved ones. 'The subject of the bat boxes in the grounds has prompted some real laughter and joy — something for sure Oz would approve of,' they said. 'You cannot even make it up. He has spent decades being caught up in this drama around bats and animal rights groups — and then he is there at his final resting place in a space used to help encourage bats to thrive in the UK countryside. It has prompted quite a few laughs and funny reactions. It is like Ozzy had the last laugh.' Ozzy and his wife, Sharon Osbourne, bought the 250-acre estate, known as Welders House, in 1993, and according to the insider, it was a place they often 'escaped' to when they needed a break from fame during the height of his career. '[The mansion] had been where he and Sharon escaped from the showbiz world in the 1990s and 2000s to simply focus on family,' they explained. 'Once again it showed how despite all the amazing rock and roll success and celebrity he had, in his heart he was always a family man.' The Daily Mail has reached out to the Osbourne family for comment. Ozzy announced that he planned to move back to Welders House permanently in 2022 after years of spending most of his time living in Los Angeles. At the time, he had the home revamped, adding the bat boxes as well as a 'rehabilitation wing' following his Parkinson's disease diagnosis in 2020. Planning documents for a health and welfare exercise suite, a swimming pool, and decking were submitted to the local council in March that year. But his battle with Parkinson's and a crippling fall that exacerbated his old quad bike injury are thought to have delayed his return to the UK. Ozzy famously bit the head off a bat after a fan bizarrely hurled the animal on stage during a Black Sabbath show in January 1982. It's been debated whether or not the creature was alive at the time; Ozzy has claimed that it was and that he needed to be rushed to the hospital for a rabies shot, while audience member Mark Neal, who alleges he was the one to throw it, has insisted it was dead. Either way, Ozzy's mouth was seen filling with blood as the audience watched on in horror, and he never lived down the shocking incident. He has long insisted he initially thought the bat was a rubber toy rather than a live animal before he bit it. In a 2020 interview with the Los Angeles Daily News, Ozzy admitted, 'It's not the way I want to be remembered [but] I know I'll be the man that bit the head off the bat. That will be my epitaph. It won't be, 'Here lies Ozzy Osbourne … he did a bit of good…' It's going to be, 'The bat-biting lunatic,' which … I don't care.'

Pamela Anderson and Liam Neeson 'can't fake' their chemistry as insider spills on red hot romance

Pamela Anderson and Liam Neeson raised quite a few eyebrows as they promoted their new Naked Gun reboot, with onlookers wondering if their affection for each other was real or just for show. Insiders who know the pair say their romance is the real deal. 'It's very sincere how they feel,' a source told Page Six. 'That is the truth.' 'They're not going to show up on the red carpet and be adorable just to be fake, that's not either of them.' 'They make for a beautiful couple…Liam is a gentleman, he's warm and present, he's a very lovely man,' the source claimed. According to an insider who spoke to US Weekly, Neeson, 73, 'has been intrigued and smitten' by the former Baywatch star, 58, 'since they started filming the comedy,' adding that the action star 'expressed this to her.' The widowed Neeson, who lost his wife Natasha Richardson following a skiing accident in March 2009, had sworn off dating in 2024, but admitted to People that he was 'madly in love' with Anderson. 'She's just terrific to work with,' he said, adding, 'I can't compliment her enough, I'll be honest with you. No huge ego. She just comes in to do the work. She's funny and so easy to work with. She's going to be terrific in the film.' For her part, Anderson said she was 'nervous' to meet the Taken star before starting the project. ''[I was] nervous to meet [Liam], of course and you're always nervous the first day on the set...' she said at a SiriusXM Town Hall event in New York City on Wednesday where the couple held hands. The actress who has been vegan for more than three decades brought healthy treats to her co-star on set. 'I brought sourdough bread to Liam and cookies and muffins and it kept me busy, said the I Love You: Recipes from the Heart cookbook author. She said the baking 'Kept me outta trouble,' and that her muffin recipe is 'very special... It's very good for you. Let's just say that.' Neeson called the sourdough 'phenomenal' and revealed the muffins featured 'a lot of bran'. During the event, the Schindler's List star admitted he was charmed by Pamela from the moment they first met. He said: 'Well, you know, we had never met before and I remember thinking: "Wow, she is gorgeous" but she had this wonderful sense of silliness and just humanity about her. In a 2024 interview with People Neeson said of Anderson, 'I can't compliment her enough... She's funny and so easy to work with. She's going to be terrific in the film'; Pictured in New York City on Wednesday 'I don't want to blow her head up, but it was like I just felt an ease with her, you know, and we discovered a silliness with each other, which was terrific, you know?' The pair appear to have the approval of their sons, who joined them on the red carpet of the US premiere in New York City on Monday. Neeson is dad to Daniel, 28, who shares his last name, and Micheál Richardson, 30, who shares his late mother's. Anderson shares her sons Brandon, 29, and Dylan, 27, with ex-husband Tommy Lee.

Grammy nominee 'embarrassed' as tour cancelled after plea to fans over gigs

JP Saxe, whose song If the World Was Ending, featuring Julia Michaels, was nominated for a Grammy in 2019, has announced that his solo tour has now been cancelled Singer-songwriter JP Saxe has announced that his tour has now been cancelled. The Grammy -nominated artist was due to embark on a series of headline shows next month but has told fans that they will no longer be going ahead. ‌ JP, 32, whose song If the World Was Ending, which featured his ex-partner Julia Michaels, received acclaim following its release in 2019, had announced the Make Yourself at Home tour in June. He was scheduled to visit a host of cities in his home country of Canada, the US, Brazil and several other countries on the tour in September and October. ‌ He however announced yesterday that the tour was cancelled and has said that he "didn't sell enough tickets," after sharing concern over the prospect. It comes after Taylor Swift sparks engagement rumours as fans spot Travis Kelce's lock screen. ‌ JP has told fans earlier this week that the tour was at risk of being cancelled. In a video on social media, he said: "I'm extremely embarrassed to tell you this but I'm going to tell you anyway. If I don't sell twenty or so thousand tickets to my tour in the next 48 hours, it's going to be cancelled." He continued: "If we're just not in a place yet to sell out these 2 or 3k cap venues, that's fine. It's always been my goal to connect deeply not widely and I stand by that." ‌ In a message to fans, JP said that "just in case" they were waiting until closer to the gigs to buy tickets "that approach" wouldn't work because there wouldn't be a show. He said: "Whether that happens or not, I'm grateful to you for caring about my songs and I hold on to a sliver of hope that I will see you in the fall." The singer said in the caption of the video, which was shared on platforms like TikTok, that he didn't want to cancel the tour. JP told his followers at the time in the post: "48 hrs… f*** being cool about it, I don't wanna cancel this s**t." He later shared that his friends had told him to "ask for help" from fans and issued another update yesterday. He said the more recent video: "Over the last few days we sold a few thousand extra tickets and I am beyond grateful to everyone of you who bought one. Those few thousand tickets are a reminder that being transparent in failure sometimes can be more powerful than the facade of success." ‌ The performer said that the reaction was also a reminder of how "wonderful" it can be to ask other people for help. He also wrote about watching a "community come together" and said it was the "nicest the internet has ever been" to him. JP, who confirmed that the tour won't be going ahead, continued: "But what those few thousand tickets are not is enough to save this tour. I'm really sorry. I'm so sorry. Every ticket purchase will be fully refunded with a small side of immense gratitude from a dorky ginger Canadian." ‌ He added: "I'm still a little embarrassed. I'm also feeling a lot of ambition to make sure this never happens again and just to make the most honest music I possibly can and the squad can grow and we can just have these full rooms but until then, I love you and I'm grateful to each one of you who bought a ticket and I'm really sorry." JP apologised again in the caption and said that he was "so grateful" for the way that fans have "shown up" for him lately. He said: "Thank you for giving a s**t about my music, I've certainly still got lots in me to share with you." In a guest column for Variety, published yesterday, JP said that his team were told last week that ticket sales "weren't where they needed to be". He said that it was suggested that he cancel the tour and then "try again next year". ‌ He said that it had felt "more embarrassing" before he publicly shared that the tour was at risk and suggested that he had "aimed too high" whilst recalling his initial post. JP said that once he had told his fans it felt "weirdly empowering" and he has suggested the experience will be better for his "growth". JP wrote in the recent article: "Applause for success is great. But there is something more interesting about being applauded for honesty in failure." He added: "It's not as good for my ego - but maybe it's better for my growth."
