Everything to Know About ‘Tracker' Season 3: From Possible Cast Changes to Returning Guest Stars

Yahoo13-05-2025

Tracker is a CBS success story — but that doesn't mean season 3 won't go through some changes to keep things interesting.
The hit series, which premiered in February 2024, has viewers tuning in each week to see their favorite fictional survivalist Colter Shaw (Justin Hartley) travel the country to help solve various missing persons cases. But over time, fans have also become accustomed to watching Colter receive help from his team: handler Velma (Abby McEnany), hacker Bobby (Eric Graise) and attorney Reenie (Fiona Rene).
Tracker quickly found success after being coined the most-watched broadcast premiere since NCIS' final episode with Mark Harmon in September 2021. Its average viewership was reported to be 18.2 million per episode, according to Paramount+ and broadcast measurements.
Variety's annual list of the year's 100 most-watched primetime telecasts revealed that Tracker episodes earned 15 top spots. Despite making Us wait 11 weeks for new episodes, the second season dominated viewership with the season 2 premiere bringing in 8.3 million total viewers — a nearly 10 percent increase in viewership from the season 1 finale. The season 2 premiere also marked the show's highest audience since the series debuted in February 2024 after the Super Bowl.
Burning 'Tracker' Questions We Need Answered Before Season 3: Is Gina Alive? Will Billie Return?
"It's really the cool show now, right? So, we actually got really lucky. I feel like I blinked, all of a sudden woke up and it's been 20 years. But I've been in this business long enough to have developed these relationships," Hartley told The Hollywood Reporter in April. "When you see the people on our show that are familiar faces and actors you know, like Jensen Ackles and my wife [Sofia Pernas], these are relationships I've had for a long time. I was really grateful I was able to do that."
He continued: "I think they trusted me knowing I'm not going to call them and ask them to do something, or invite them to do something unless I think it's really cool and fun and would be good for them as well. So we start off on that foot, and then this show became what it is. It's huge. People think it's cool and want to be a part of it, which is also nice because it allows you to get a bigger pool of talent."
The CBS show has already been renewed for a third season. Keep scrolling for everything to know about the next installment:
The second season wrapped up Colter's white whale case with ex Camille's (Floriana Lima) missing sister but he still has yet to solve the mystery surrounding his father's death. Colter previously thought his brother, Russell (Ackles), was responsible but has since questioned that.
Tracker stars Hartley, McEnany, Graise, Rene and now Chris Lee. There are also certain guest stars who keep returning including Ackles, Hartley's wife, Pernas, Melissa Roxburgh and Jennifer Morrison.
Before season 2 aired, Robin Weigert exited the show in a shocking shakeup. Weigert's character, Teddi, was written off in the season 2 premiere by having her wife, Velma reveal that they needed some distance. Velma has since been working with Reenie, and Teddi hasn't been discussed despite her prominent presence in the show's first season.
"One of the challenges in season 3 is going to be reconfiguring the team and figuring out what that team looks like," executive producer Elwood Reid exclusively told Us Weekly in May 2025 about making sure Tracker doesn't "fall into complacency."
He continued: "I don't want the show to be phone a friend every week. I think that gets old and Justin is always challenging me on that. He's like, 'Do we need to do this? Do I need to call Bobby all the time? Can I do this?'"

During season 2, fans were surprised by Graise's six-episode absence. Reid revealed how the writers' room reacted to the strong backlash — and how Bobby's cousin fits into the equation.
"It's one of those things where actor availability is always an issue. There have been shows where people don't even notice [if a character is missing]," Reid noted. "With those dynamics — and in playing with this team dynamics — that's all stuff we're going to continue to play with in season 3 as the show evolves."
There will also be appearances from other past characters.
"We're going to bring back some characters from seasons 1 and 2 — we're going to see them more and more," Reid told Us. "There's been some fun characters that I think are fun to see in Colter's world [season to season]."
According to Hartley? Possibly.
"I don't want our audience to forget that this man is mortal, he's not a superhero. He can die!" Hartley told The Hollywood Reporter in April. "The things he is doing are very, very dangerous."
Reid elaborated to Us one month later, saying, "There's the physical element of it. But then there's also — which I think we've seen a few times during the season — there's the emotional thing that gets to him. I continue to remind ourselves — the writers — that he's human, he can die and he can get hurt."
He continued: "Justin is always pitching that we see an episode where Colter is almost dead in the middle of the show and we go back. He's got all kinds of crazy ideas but I think that's what makes the show fun. The minute he becomes like Superman, he is out. That's not what Justin wants to play — and I don't think that that's what the character is."

Is ‘Special Ops: Lioness' returning for season 3? Everything we know so far

By Aman Shukla Published on June 7, 2025, 19:48 IST Special Ops: Lioness , the gripping spy thriller created by Taylor Sheridan, has kept audiences on edge with its high-stakes missions and stellar cast, including Zoe Saldaña, Nicole Kidman, and Morgan Freeman. With Season 2 wrapping up on December 8, 2024, fans are eagerly asking: Is Special Ops: Lioness Season 3 happening? Here's everything we know so far. Has Special Ops: Lioness Been Renewed for Season 3? As of now, Paramount+ has not officially confirmed Special Ops: Lioness Season 3. However, there are strong indicators that a third season is likely. Zoe Saldaña, who stars as CIA operative Joe McNamara, revealed in an interview with Vanity Fair that she signed on for at least three seasons, suggesting a contractual commitment for more episodes. Additionally, South African streaming platform Showmax responded to a fan inquiry, stating that Season 3 is 'confirmed' and expected to arrive 'soon,' though no official announcement from Paramount+ has backed this claim yet. Special Ops: Lioness Potential Release Date for Season 3 Without an official renewal, no specific release date for Special Ops: Lioness Season 3 has been announced. However, based on the production timelines of previous seasons, we can make an educated guess. Season 1 premiered in July 2023, and Season 2 debuted in October 2024, with filming for Season 1 occurring between September 2022 and January 2023. If Season 3 follows a similar schedule, production could begin in mid-2025, potentially leading to a release in late 2025 or early 2026. What Will the Plot of Season 3 Be About? Special Ops: Lioness follows Joe McNamara and her team of female operatives as they undertake dangerous undercover missions to combat terrorism. Each season introduces a new high-risk operation, and Season 2 ended with the intense 'Operation Sky Hawk,' where the team intercepted Chinese nuclear scientists in Iraq to prevent escalation with Iran and China. The finale left several storylines open, setting the stage for Season 3. While specific plot details remain speculative, Season 3 is expected to dive into a new mission, potentially involving global conflicts hinted at in Season 2, such as tensions with China over Taiwan or new geopolitical threats. The series' signature blend of espionage, action, and moral dilemmas will likely continue, with Joe grappling with the personal toll of her covert work. Fans can also expect more paranoia, double-crosses, and intense firefights, as teased by the Season 2 finale's setup. Aman Shukla is a post-graduate in mass communication . Footage emerged of the 'Bad Blood' singer and the Kansas City Chiefs tight end via social media on Friday, June 6, watching the bride and groom slow-dancing. Swift and Kelce danced along in their seats as they watched on. At the event, Swift appeared to be taking style cues from her debut album era. Photos emerged of the 'Bad Blood' singer via social media that showed Swift making fashion and beauty choices that looked similar to the cover of her self-titled album that came out in 2006. Swift, 35, was the epitome of country girl chic as she rocked a gorgeous strapless floral midi dress and styled her blonde locks in loose curls to complete the look. Taylor Swift Looks Ethereal in Ivory at New York City Wedding, Brings Travis Kelce as Date According to fans on social media, the couple was reportedly attending a wedding in Nashville, Tennessee. Speculation is rife that the groom at the wedding is Kelce's cousin, although neither Swift nor Kelce, 35, have publicly confirmed any details surrounding the sighting. Text on an image shared by a fan account via X read, 'Not Taylor Swift being at my friend's friend's cousin's wedding…' The post was also captioned, 'A Fairy Princess attending a wedding today!😊' Earlier this week, Swift and Kelce were spotted enjoying a sweet date night together in a restaurant. Footage of the night out emerged via X and showed the couple in great spirits, smiling and seated close to one another in the restaurant. Following an incredibly busy period for both Swift and Kelce after the singer wrapped her mammoth Eras tour in December 2024 and the Kansas City Chiefs tight end played the Super Bowl in February, the couple are deliberately laying low. They've mostly avoided the spotlight since the Super Bowl and stepped out publicly just a few times. Taylor Swift Attends Travis Kelce's Kansas City Chiefs Game Against New England Patriots A source exclusively told Us Weekly on Wednesday, June 4 that Swift and Kelce are avoiding the spotlight on purpose. 'They are making fewer public appearances together because [their relationship] brings too much unwanted attention,' the source told Us, 'but there isn't trouble in paradise.' Speaking to Australia's Today show in February ahead of the Super Bowl, Kelce's dad Ed Kelce spoke about how the couple spending quality time together without the pressure of their high-profile work commitments will be beneficial for their relationship. 'I think, you know, once we get past the Super Bowl, I think it's going to be a very good period of time for the two of them,' he told Today cohosts Karl Stefanovic and Sarah Abo. 'Without the NFL season, without the Eras tour. Just them alone really connecting more. I think that can only be a good thing.
