Pogačar crashes and Abrahamsen wins stage in Tour de France
Pogačar, the three-time champion, crashed with 6 kilometers remaining. His rivals for the general classification slowed down so he could get back on his bike and rejoin them.
Abrahamsen finished just ahead of Swiss rider Mauro Schmid by a photo finish in a final sprint between the two after Belgian rider Mathieu van der Poel made a late push to catch them. It's the Norwegian rider's first stage win at the Tour and the first in this race for his team, Uno-X Mobility.
Van der Poel was 7 seconds behind in third, while the GC group including Pogačar and yellow jersey-holder Ben Healy finished 3:28 back.
Healy still leads by 29 seconds from Pogačar.

IRVINE, Scotland (AP) — Lottie Woad of England played bogey-free Friday and took advantage of unusually calm conditions toward the end to post a 7-under 65, giving the English star a two-shot lead over top-ranked Nelly Korda and Nanna Koerstz Madsen in the Women's Scottish Open. Woad is making her professional debut, which only means she gets paid at the end of the week. She looks no different from the last couple of weeks, when she won the Women's Irish Open and then tied for third in the LPGA major in France at the Evian Championship. Korda birdied her last two holes for a 66 to get to within two shots, hopeful she is trending in the right direction as she goes for her first win of the season. Koerstz Madsen also shot 66. Woad, who played her college golf at Florida State, was at 12-under 132 after spending two days before the largest crowd at Dundonald Links, playing in the same group as Korda and Charley Hull of England. Woad's finish at the Evian Championship earned her an LPGA card, prompting her to turn pro. The Women's Scottish Open felt no different from her other July events. It was all about trying to ride the momentum. She dismissed the notion that she has started her pro career by taking a 36-hole lead in a tournament co-sanctioned by the LPGA and the Ladies European Tour. 'I played in seven majors now so I've had all that experience, and obviously the LET events, too,' Woad said. 'So wasn't really new things I guess. Kind of knew how to deal with it.' She has missed only two greens each of the last two rounds on the links course just to the north of Royal Troon on the Ayrshire coast. It's a strong field with the final major of the year, the Women's British Open, next week at Royal Porthcawl in Wales. The biggest help was the wind, or lack of it. Korda, winless after a seven-victory season in 2024, made her lone mistake with a bogey on the par-5 18th as she made the turn. She handled the calm conditions on the front nine to get in the final group. 'Apparently this is not really Scottish weather. It's pretty soft, so I've been hearing this is not the typical weather and course they usually play out here,' Korda said. 'But overall, when you get good rounds under your belt, that's always a step in the right direction. My main focus is this week. I'm trying to finish as best as I possibly can.' With new contract, Ja'Marr Chase already playing hard at Bengals training camp
CINCINNATI (AP) — Bengals wide receiver Ja'Marr Chase didn't participate in training camp last year as he tried to negotiate a contract extension. While he went on to become the sixth wide receiver in the Super Bowl era to lead the league in receptions, receiving yards and touchdown catches in the same season, Chase still felt like he missed something by not being a part of practices leading up to the first week of the season. 'I love to work,' Chase said. 'I'm a workaholic. I love to work. Joe asked me today, am I tired? I said, 'Call the play while I'm tired.' At the end of the day, when it's the fourth quarter and I'm tired, they're not going to ask me if I'm tired. It's all about how hard you can push yourself at the end of the day, especially on days like this. As long as you get 1% better each day, that's how you improve.' Chase was present at all of training camp last year, but he watched it from the sideline as a part of a hold-in. He went on to receive the lucrative contract he was looking for in March, but he bet on himself entering 2024 and played on his rookie contract. He only received a few last-minute practice reps leading into the first week of the 2024 season. While he started a bit slow, Chase still had a terrific season. He was a unanimous All-Pro last season, finishing the year with 127 receptions for 1,708 receiving yards as well as 17 receiving touchdowns. But Chase's two worst games of the season were the first two weeks. That included an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty in Week 2 at Kansas City after he thought a penalty should have been called for a hip-drop tackle on him. 'I had great legs last year,' Chase said. 'Like I said, I love to work. At the end of the day, I get to work on stuff that I didn't work on last year and getting that real feel from the (defensive back) and working on certain things that I wanted to do this year. I get a chance to do it in camp now instead of just doing it in games.' Chase has been an active receiver and target of quarterback Joe Burrow during the first two training camp practices. 'So you're supposed to have on and off switch and go out and do it.' Unlike Chase, Hendrickson isn't present on the sidelines at Bengals practices. Hendrickson is working out in Florida as he tries to negotiate a new contract. 'I don't really know much about what Trey got going on in his situation,' Chase said. 'I'm not in his situation anymore. I'm sure everyone wants to be treated the same.
