India's Strike On 11 Airbases Destroyed 20% Of Pakistan Air Force Infra, Several Fighter Jets: Sources
Last Updated:
The attack targeted major ammunition depots and airbases such as Sargodha and Bholari, where F-16 and JF-17 fighter jets were stationed, sources said
India's attack on 11 airbases of Pakistan on May 10 destroyed 20 per cent of its air force assets, and over 50 individuals were killed, including a squadron leader, top government sources told News18 on Tuesday.
The attack targeted major ammunition depots and airbases such as Sargodha and Bholari, where F-16 and JF-17 fighter jets were stationed, sources said. As a result, nearly 20% of Pakistan's air force infrastructure was destroyed. Over 50 individuals, including Squadron Leader Usman Yusuf and four airmen, were killed in the bombing of Bholari airbase, they added.
India says several Pakistani fighter jets were also destroyed. 'On May 9-10, India became the first country to strike 11 airbases of a nuclear-armed nation in a single operation, destroying 20% of Pakistan's air force assets. High casualties were inflicted at Bholari airbase, including the death of Squadron Leader Usman Yusuf and destruction of key fighter jets," the sources said.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has already said that over 100 terrorists were killed in Operation Sindoor during the May 7 strike on terrorist headquarters in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. On May 10, within just three hours, India targeted 11 military installations, including Noor Khan, Rafiqui, Murid, Sukkur, Sialkot, Pasrur, Chunian, Sargodha, Skardu, Bholari, and Jacobabad. Satellite images before and after the strike on Shahbaz airbase in Jacobabad and the Bholari airbase clearly show the scale of destruction.
The government says that on the night of May 9-10, 2025, India's counteroffensive became a historic milestone when, for the first time, a country successfully attacked the airbases of a nuclear-armed nation. This was also possible as India earlier deployed kamikaze drones with the objective of neutralising Pakistan's air defence capabilities, including disabling Lahore's air defence system, sources added.
Speaking to the nation on Monday, PM Narendra Modi had said, 'India struck at the heart of Pakistan. India's drones and missiles attacked with precision. They damaged those airbases of the Pakistani air force, of which Pakistan was very proud. India caused heavy damage to Pakistan in the first three days itself, which it had never imagined."

How Canada, Russia, EU figure in UPBJP's campaign on 11 years of Modi govt
Lucknow: If medical treatment of over nine crore people under Ayushman scheme was more than twice the population of Canada, the construction of 12 crore toilets under Swachh Bharat Abhiyan surpassed the total population of Canada and Italy taken together. Likewise, the laying of more than 42 lakh km of optical fibre in the country was almost 11 times the distance between earth and moon. That's how the UP BJP has portrayed the scale of welfare measures and developmental initiatives rolled out during the 11 years of Narendra Modi government. The depictions came through social media posts even as the saffron outfit geared up to celebrate 11 years of PM Narendra Modi in office. The comparisons were seen as BJP's bid to simplify the figure and create relatability for people by comparing with a known, developed nation. This is especially true in case of construction of toilets under Swachh Bharat Abhiyan which underlined the massive scale of sanitation efforts, crucial for rural health and dignity—especially for women. Similarly, the metaphor vis-à-vis optical fibre, a senior BJP leader said, was meant to emphasize the depth of digital connectivity achieved even in remote areas, tying into the broader 'Digital India' vision. This is not all. The number of loans disbursed under Mudra scheme – 52.5 crore – is shown as more than the total population of US, Russia and Australia taken together. "Naya Bharat! Abhutpurva Scale! (New India! Unprecedented scale)" the party mentioned in one of the posts. Analysts said that by comparing Mudra loan beneficiaries to entire nations' populations, the BJP sought to underscore how deeply and widely its economic policies managed to penetrate. It tends to give a sense that almost every third Indian has been touched by the scheme—a powerful narrative to the informal sector, small traders, and aspiring entrepreneurs.

Mizoram BJP chief slams govt for ‘misutilisation' of central funds
1 2 Aizawl: Mizoram BJP unit president Vanlalhmuaka on Monday slammed the state govt for not judiciously utilising the funds allocated for implementation of central schemes, resulting in underutilisation of central funds meant for the uplift of marginal sections of the society in the state. Addressing party workers at 'Mipui Run' or Atal Bhavan (BJP office) in Aizawl, Vanlalhmuaka said while some people in Mizoram benefited from the central schemes launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi's govt, there are a number of people who have not received full benefits of the schemes due to misutilisation of funds. Making special mention to 'Housing for All', he said a large number of people could not complete the construction of their homes despite receiving funds under the scheme. According to the records maintained by the state rural development & administration (RD&A) department, 25,011 beneficiaries of Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojana - Gramin (PMAY-G) or 'housing for all' out of 29,966 selected families in Mizoram have completed the construction of their homes which is 83.46% as of May 20. RD&A officials said the PMAY-G was launched during 2016-2017 when the fund was released in four instalments and after 2020 the fund was released in three instalments. They said the central govt has given a green signal to continue the PMAY-G til 2028-29 for which 54,588 families have been selected as beneficiaries while it is yet to be known when the fund will be given to them.

State pushed back 330 illegal foreigners: CM
1 2 3 Guwahati: Assam chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Monday informed a one-day special sitting of the legislative assembly that about 330 illegal foreigners have been pushed back from the state so far and govt is waiting for floods to recede to send back another 35 individuals. "Of the 330 people we have pushed back, none of them have returned. It is impossible for them to return now," he added. He said the process of evicting illegal foreigners from Assam will now be intensified and expedited. "As Pakistani elements and fundamentalist elements from Bangladesh have entered Assam, we have to be proactive like never before to protect the state from these elements," Sarma added. He said this is also the reason why state govt has decided to revive Immigration (Expulsion from Assam) act of 1950 and enforce it. "Under this law, a deputy commissioner can push back whoever he finds to be an illegal foreigner without referring them to the Foreigners' Tribunals," he added. He reiterated that those having appeals in courts will not be touched. Sarma said a constitutional bench of the Supreme Court recently ruled that the IEA Act is in force and the state govt can proceed under its provisions.
