Official gifts given to Royal Family disclosed including lavish Rolls-Royce
When you're a member of the Royal Family, you can expect a few fancy gifts from time to time, but some are rather surprising.
Perhaps one of the most elaborate presents given to King Charles was a Rolls-Royce from the King of Bahrain, Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa. Given to the King in May 2023, it's worth around $443,575 - or £329,545 and was a gift for his Coronation.
The lavish car is said to be brought out for official purposes, including state occasions. But this isn't the only generous gift.
During the month of his coronation, the monarch also received a feather crown, two beaded chest pieces and two carved staffs from Amazonian Indigenous leaders Uyunkar Domingo Peas Nampichkai and Atossa Soltani, reports Sky News.
Former US president Joe Biden and then-first lady Jill Biden also gifted the King a leather folder containing printed letters between Queen Elizabeth II and former president Dwight D Eisenhower.
In April that year, the King and Queen Camilla also received two gold Blue Peter badges from Blue Peter presenters during a visit to Liverpool ahead of the city hosting Eurovision.
But that's not all - during an audience with Ukrainian President Volodymr Zelenskyy in February, the King was presented with a framed mosaic, a scrolled document about St Sophia Cathedral and a signed Ukrainian ship's flag.
Meanwhile, Queen Elizabeth II was given a Cedar of Lebanon tree from Pope Francis in 2022 - the year of her Platinum Jubilee. The year before, during a visit to the Coronation Street set in Greater Manchester, she received a cobble from the original set in a presentation case.
The avid Corrie fan was also presented with two gin glasses with a Manchester skyline silhouette design, a book entitled 60 Years Of Coronation Street and a bottle of Coronation Street gin.
In 2020, Prince William and Kate, then the Duchess of Cambridge, were both gifted a toiletries set from the president of Ireland, Michael D Higgins and his wife Sabina Higgins. This is according to official records, which cover official gifts to most members of the royal family from 2020 to 2023.
But did you know the Royal Family give each other presents on Christmas Eve as opposed to Christmas Day in keeping with their German heritage? And the presents they give to each other speak volumes about their family dynamics and sense of humour.
Over the years, quirky presents have included a toilet seat and homemade chutney, according to Hello magazine.
When she first joined the Royal Family, Princess Kate gave the late Queen some homemade chutney, a recipe from her own grandmother. Princess Anne gave her brother Charles a leather toilet set.
She also once gifted her father, Prince Phillip, a pepper mill with a light on the end, to enable him to season his food during barbecues when it was dark.

Afterwards, Ozzy gifted him a cross which he keeps around his neck. " Ozzy is everything to me, always has been," he says. "And to be able to go on stage and honour my hero and sing that song to him, without knowing that they were his final days, was everything to me. "I will try my best to keep that spirit and keep that energy alive. I love that guy. I got to know him personally at the end and I love that family. I've got nothing but love, always." Now, Harrison is getting ready for the release of Are You Ready, Boy?, which was filmed at the famous Hansa Studios in Berlin, the birthplace of albums including David Bowie's Heroes and U2's Achtung Baby!. Making music and all of his creative output he sees as "life or death", he says in the film. "I mean, 100%," he adds while on the red carpet. "I think that's how I like to play, you know? I mean, red or black, every time. "I love taking risks and this film is the most vulnerable I think I've ever been. It's pretty uncomfortable for me to watch. I've seen it once, I'll watch it tonight and probably never watch it again... "I think in this day and age, it's very easy for us to cut around things and make them palatable and digestible. I wanted to do something that would be raw and uncomfortable, and this is what came out." The film comes during an intense period for the star, who has just opened his own music venue and shop in London, and is also planning a world tour and the return of his own festival, Bludfest, in 2026. "I think it's important for [fans] to know who I really am," he says, of why he wanted to make the film. "I think 30 seconds on an Instagram video doesn't quite cut it. It's a fly-on-the-wall documentary… we didn't have an overarching narrative at the start of it. "I said, come with me for two weeks, roll the cameras and see what happens." The star also spoke about Bludfest, which he launched in 2024. The third event next year will be "bigger and better," he says. The festival was set up as he felt prices had become too expensive and he wanted to show it could be done differently. "I had something to prove," he says. "I think this festival was important… It made me sick, the price of tickets. And a lot of promoters, I don't think, took me seriously. "We made a massive statement and I will continue to do that. I love my community, I love my fanbase. They're all I care about."

In an interview with the Big Issue, she said: "I cannot bear to think that my people are doing exactly the same thing to another nation." Miriam has stood by her statements and has no worries about it. She told The Guardian newspaper: 'People say: 'You're just an actor, for f***'s sake, shut up.' Well, that is a point of view. I don't happen to share that. "I think that if you have a chance to make an impact for good, to change things, then you should. I think it's an absolute requirement, and people don't, out of fear sometimes. They are afraid of being cancelled. You can't cancel me!' She condemned the actions of Hamas and allies on October 7. Miriam said what is happening in Gaza is 'shocking, embarrassing and wicked and I cannot understand why all Jewish people, particularly members of synagogues, do not want immediately to stop what is going on.' The actress was awarded an OBE in 2002 for Services to drama, but she has now faced calls for her to be stripped of the honour. The Campaign Against Antisemitism (CAA) responded to her statements and called it 'repugnant'. A statement from the CAA said: "The fact she was born Jewish does not give her license to use her immense platform to spread anti-Jewish venom. 'This has to be the end of the road. She must be shunned by the showbiz world that has fawned and bowed until now.' CAA added that it would write to the Honours Forfeiture Committee as well as BAFTA to ask them to remove Miriam of her titles.

It comes after the Duke and Duchess of Sussex announced that they would be extending their lucrative deal with the streaming giants, in what was described as a "multi-year, first look deal". In this new partnership, Netflix can approve or turn down any projects before anybody else, an agreement the New York Times described as a "first-look deal" with the couple, who now have "more options" but "less investment". It stands to reason that the royals might be apprehensive about the prospect with a range of Harry and Meghan-helmed TV and film projects on the horizon. However Grant Harrold, who worked as a butler for King Charles, thinks there may be less to worry about this time. Indeed, he suggests that Harry and Meghan will likely be "more careful" not to cause any "further upset", but there's one thing they really don't want to see again. Grant, speaking on behalf of OLBG, said: "I do think they will start being more careful not to cause further upset as they move into their future business ventures. 'If they cause any more damage with these programmes it will impact any on-going attempts to build bridges. 'I think the Royal Family are beyond this now. I don't think they'll be surprised or disappointed by it, because they're used to them doing what they want now. Their biggest concern will be another tell-all documentary on their fallouts with the family.' In the original arrangement five years ago, the Sussexes, who stepped away from their royal duties for a new life in California in 2020, landed an eye-watering deal reportedly worth more than 100 million dollars (£74 million). Announcing the latest deal on Monday, Meghan said: 'We're proud to extend our partnership with Netflix and expand our work together to include the As ever brand. My husband and I feel inspired by our partners who work closely with us and our Archewell Productions team to create thoughtful content across genres that resonates globally, and celebrates our shared vision.' It comes before the grand premiere of season two of With Love, Meghan, which is due to air this month. In the latest instalment of her lifestyle programme, the Duchess is set to grace our screens with a "fun and heartwarming" season. It promises "celebrity chefs, talented artists, and beloved friends" as they take on some "hands-on adventures" that will reportedly be packed with "laughter and discovery".
