Nia Jax returns to WWE with a ‘violent assault' on Tiffany Stratton

Yahoo03-05-2025

Nia Jax has been absent from WWE programming since Elimination Chamber on March 1 when she was pinned by Tiffany Stratton in a tag team match. Jax went on to miss WrestleMania 41 last weekend, but now she's back, and Stratton is still in her sights.
Nia's return took place on tonight's (Apr. 25) SmackDown after Naomi ruined the finish of a singles match between Tiffany and Jade Cargill that even the commentators admitted wasn't good. Naomi targeted Jade in the post-match angle, making it clear that their business is far from over.

That left Tiffany in the ring to be attacked by a returning Jax. Commentator Joe Tessitore described the scene that played out as a 'violent assault.'
Stratton is the reigning WWE Women's Champion, and she won the belt by cashing in her Money in the Bank contract on Jax roughly four months ago. Now it looks like there is at least one more chapter to come in their championship story.
What did you think of Stratton vs. Cargill and then Nia's surprise return? Let me know in the comments below, Cagesiders.

"Because he just belly aches and complains. This guy complains about getting multiple world title runs," he said (H/T to Fightful). "I've heard from my boys that still work there (WWE) that he is a headache, and this isn't a storyline, this is the facts." The awkward questions facing WWE after R-Truth's stunning Money in the Bank return

WWE ultimately did the right thing by bringing Ron 'R-Truth' Killings back, even if it painted itself into a bit of a corner in the process. Triple H handled the situation the way he felt he needed to by saying 'it's all part of he show' in the media scrum after Killings made a surprise appearance at Money in the Bank to beat up John Cena and cost him the main event match on Saturday night, six days after announcing his WWE contract would not be renewed. Triple H's line was an attempt to successfully shut down further questions about the matter because, in some way, a divided fan base passionately debating if it was a shoot or the greatest work of all time is a good thing. Advertisement Also, if it was a shoot as it appears to be, Triple H would need to admit that he and TKO chose to let Killings loose in the first place and have to explain the reasoning. And that's not good for business.
