I stayed at Alton Towers Hotel and saved £50 with this tip
From a range of hotels, including the Alton Towers Hotel, Splash Landings Hotel, CBeebies Land Hotel, Woodland Lodges, Luxury Treehouses and the Stargazing Pods, there is something for everyone.
I was recently lucky enough to test out a stay at the Alton Towers Hotel myself, as well as some extra perks that helped me save a lot of money.

The moment you arrive at the Alton Towers Hotel, you quickly get the sense that it's a luxury resort with a twist.
From the moment you step into the hotel, it feels like your ride has begun.
Stepping into the reception, friendly staff are quick to greet and help you check in and direct you to your room while sharing advice on what else you can find at the hotel.
All rooms at the Alton Towers Hotel are themed, from the Explorer Room, the Chocolate Room, the Splish Splash Room and the Moon Voyage Room, which I stayed in.
The hotel does a fantastic job at theming from the reception to the lifts; everything is on brand.
As soon as I stepped inside, the room I was met with space designs across all of the walls in the bedroom and even the bathroom.
A giant teddy bear on the bed greeted me, in a room that even had quirky lighting and a fun, extra interactive piece that anyone will enjoy.
Like any nice hotel, you're given tea, coffee and some sweet treats along with a mini fridge that guests can use.

Away from the room, the Alton Towers Hotel has lots of great facilities including a games room, the Dragons Bar, the Secret Garden Restaurant, a Costa Coffee, a gift shop, an entertainment area a small play from children.
Plus, all guests at the hotel get a free round of extraordinary gold, free parking, breakfast included and early access to the park one hour before it opens to the general public.
The real special highlight of the hotel for me was the Secret Garden Restaurant, where I was able to try using the Ultimate Dining Plan.
The ultimate dining plan is new to Alton Towers for 2025 and promises savings of more than 40%.
It allows you to enjoy a range of perks, including lunch at the park, an evening meal, sweet treats, vouchers at Costa Coffee and 20% off food and drinks.
Costing £90 per person, the ultimate dining plan is ideal for anyone staying at the resort who doesn't want to worry about food and drink.

At the Secret Restaurant, you're able to enjoy a starter, main, side and dessert along with a range of drinks.
The evening meal was fantastic, everything was tasty, and you could tell it was of good quality.
The staff made the evening all the more helpful, kind and a perfect example of great hospitality.
I was also able to use the plan during my day inside the park, enjoy coffee, bottles of water, ice cream, more soft drinks and lunch that were all covered by the plan.
We had lunch at the Oak in Chain restaurant just outside Hex, which would've cost us £38, but we didn't have to worry about the extra cost thanks to the plan.
Although the plan is a lifesaver, as it's new to Alton Towers, there seems to be some confusion about how it works and what it can be used for.

There were several times when staff were unsure of how the plan worked and what needed to be done to use the pass, which seemed to be scanning the codes I had on the app.
But, as with any new feature, it's a thing for everyone to get used to, so we expected some growing room.
I also find that in some areas of Alton Towers, there were limited vegetarian options.
During the hunt for lunch, we had no choice but to walk 20 minutes towards the Oak in Chain to find one vegetarian option as the best choice.
With the dining plan, I was able to save £52; without it, I would have spent more than £230 on food and drink alone.

A stay at the Alton Towers Hotel is the perfect way to treat yourself to a weekend of fun, thrill and excitement.
From the moment you arrive, you get to enjoy a break away from the stress of everyday life and can enjoy the feeling of being a child again.
The staff are real stars of the show, making every moment at the hotel and park unforgettable.
There's a clear reason Alton Towers is so popular for both children and big kids alike.

Alton Towers reveals it's opening new attractions for Halloween Scarefest event
Alton Towers has unveiled two new attractions that will thrill guests this Halloween. The Edge of the Forest and Dark Hollow are the new additions for Scarefest 2025 Alton Towers Resort has unveiled two terrifying new attractions ahead of Scarefest 2025. Scarefest 2025 kicks off at the Staffordshire theme park on 27 September, running on all of the weekends from then until 2 November. One of the new attractions is a live-action scare maze set deep in the eerie Dark Forest, named the Edge of the Forest. Those who dare to enter will be stalked by horrifying tree-like creatures and plagued by a mysterious presence known only as the Leshwall - a spirit said to twist the trees and infiltrate your mind. READ MORE: UK's 'happiest town' is seaside spot with white sand beaches and crystal-clear waters As well as the new maze, Alton Towers Resort has also announced a new scare zone for 2025. Dark Hollow, a free-flowing outdoor scare zone plunges visitors further into the expanding world of TH13TEEN. In this haunting extension of the Dark Forest, a chilling presence watches from the shadows, luring thrillseekers deeper into its grasp. Here, visitors are tasked with uncovering the truth behind sightings of 'The Twisted' - forest-born creatures believed to punish those who disturb the natural order. Bianca Sammut, vice president of Alton Towers Resort, said, 'At Alton Towers Resort, we're always raising the bar for thrills and our latest scare attractions, The Edge of the Forest and Dark Hollow, are no exception. The new scare maze and scare zone bring the twists of the Dark Forest to life in terrifying new ways and we can't wait to see brave fans take it on during Scarefest 2025.' As part of the 2025 Scarefest lineup, Alton Towers Resort has announced several other attractions will be making a return. Guests can once again brave the Altonville Mine Tours, descend into the unnerving depths of the COMPOUND scare maze - first introduced in 2024 - and wander through the eerie atmosphere of the Burial Ground scare zone. For younger visitors, Trick O' Treat Town with HARIBO and MAOAM, offers a delightfully spooky walk-through experience where visitors knock on doors along Spooky Avenue and into the Witchy Woods. Along the way, there's the promise of sweet treats, and a fair share of playful tricks. Families can look forward to the return of Amigos in the Afterlife, which offers a vibrant celebration inspired by Dia de los Muertos. As night falls, guests can take on the resort's rollercoasters in darkness - including Wicker Man, Oblivion and new for 2025, Toxicator - as part of rides in the dark.

Ebbw Vale teenager wins exclusive gig with Nieve Ella
Ceri Jones, 19, was selected from hundreds of entries in Veygo's 'Gig in a Limo' contest, which offered one lucky fan the chance to enjoy a private concert with the British singer-songwriter ahead of her Reading Festival appearance. The surprise gig took place on the streets of Cardiff, where Ceri and her friends Mollie Lewis and Olivia Pink were greeted by Nieve herself before being whisked away in a white Hummer limo. The performance, organised by young driver insurer Veygo, featured stripped-back renditions of fan favourites including Car Park and Good Grace, creating an unforgettable moment for the South Wales trio. 'It all felt completely surreal,' said Ceri. 'I couldn't believe she was standing in front of me, never mind performing some of my favourite songs in the back of a limo. Today is a core memory for me and my friends, I'll never forget it.' The prize also included Reading Festival tickets, meaning the group will see Nieve Ella perform again this Sunday on a much bigger stage. The artist, known for her emotionally resonant lyrics and Gen Z appeal, has been gaining momentum across the UK's indie-pop scene. (Image: Newsquest) Veygo, headquartered in Cardiff, is the official learner and temporary car insurance partner of Rockstar Energy presents Reading Festival. The company launched the competition to celebrate young drivers and encourage safe, flexible driving options. James Armstrong, young driver expert at Veygo, said: 'Nieve was the perfect choice for this once-in-a-lifetime experience, a true Gen Z voice who embodies fun, freedom, and making memories with friends. These are exactly the moments we want young drivers to say 'yes' to.' The event has sparked excitement across South Wales, with many praising the campaign for spotlighting local talent and giving young people in the region a chance to shine. For Ceri and her friends, it was more than just a concert, it was a celebration of friendship, music, and the magic of unexpected moments.
