Kevin Young and the BYU Cougars are targeting 7-foot-3 Italian center Luigi Suigo. The 2026 recruit reportedly has the Cougars on a short, according to Joe Tipton of On3.

The big man is expected to be visiting a few Big Ten programs, but could make a trip to Provo in the near future. Louisville, Kentucky, and Texas A&M are also pursing.
Suigo played last season for Olympia Milano and also stood out in the adidas Next Gen Tournament Euros earlier this year. In the title game of that event, he finished with 21 points, 11 rebounds and four assists.

During the 2024 U17 FIBA World Cup, Suigo averaged 7 points, 6.6 rebounds, and 1.1 assists per game. Suigo was also one of 60 invitees to the NBA's Basketball Without Borders Europe, rising his international profile.

What makes Suigo intriguing is his size, but Mhis Basketball IQ could be his most underrated characteristic. If BYU can make an impression early, they have a decent chance to land him.

Four-star offensive lineman, Emanuel Tucker, announced his commitment to the Tigers on Thursday afternoon. Dale Zanine Tucker is a 6-foot-7, 295-pound offensive tackle from New Albany, Mississippi, and he chose the Tigers over two in state schools: the Ole Miss Rebels and Mississippi State Bulldogs. Tucker was formerly committed to Mississippi State before reopening his recruitment and committing to the Tigers. Advertisement Tucker ranks as the No. 203 overall recruit and No. 16 offensive tackle in the 2026 class according to the On3 Industry Rankings. He becomes the third offensive lineman to commit to the Tigers in 2026, joining four-star offensive tackle, Brysten Martinez, and three-star interior offensive lineman, Jalan Chapman. Tucker made a trip to Baton Rouge this past week where the Tigers seemed to have sealed the deal with the four-star. After the official visit, it seemed LSU were the favorites for his commitment. LSU's 2026 class, which is headlined by five-stars Tristen Keys and Richard Anderson, still ranks second in the country behind the USC Trojans, who have 28 commits to LSU's 10. Both programs have held the top spot at some point in these past few months, and the Tigers are making their case to secure the top spot in the rankings. Nine of LSU's 10 commits rank inside On3's top-300 prospect rankings. Jalan Chapman is the only one outside of the top-300 at this time. Minnesota women's coach Dawn Plitzuweit gets 2-year contract extension with raise
Associated Press MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Minnesota women's basketball coach Dawn Plitzuweit has received a two-year contract extension that was approved Thursday by the university's board of regents. Plitzuweit is 47-29 over two seasons at Minnesota, including 13-23 in Big Ten play, with leading scorer Mara Braun missing much of them with foot injuries. The Gophers capped Plitzuweit's second year by winning the WBIT championship. They have not appeared in the NCAA Tournament since 2018. The new deal, which covers the next six seasons through 2031, gives Plitzuweit a raise of roughly 7% to bring her base salary to $900,000 for 2025-26, according to the Minnesota Star Tribune, with annual increases of $30,000. That's in the middle of the pack in the 18-team Big Ten, which sent 12 of them to the NCAA Tournament this year. Plitzuweit was hired away from West Virginia, where she spent one season, to replace Lindsay Whalen.
