The first half of the game saw the Legends in the goals for their respective teams, while the second half of the game gave celebrities a chance to make some saves.
Dubliner Byrne was in the goals for the World XI team, and made an outrageous double save against opposition actor Dean Lennox Kelly and podcaster Stephen Bartlett.
The double goal-scoring attempt happened just two minutes into Byrne taking up his position in goals with the 46-year-old barely phased with the instant pressure England tried to put on him.

Following the saves, one commentator praised the singer for 'two professional level saves.'
Fans took to X (formerly Twitter) to share their own praise of the singer and presenter with one writing: 'He's a legend! Best goalkeeper for sure! Best podcaster! Best singer! Best boss.'
Another added: 'Well done Nicky.' Dermot Kennedy also lined out for the World XI team. Pic: Ryan Browne/REX/Shutterstock
Paddy Power's Official account commented: 'What a double save from Nicky Byrne, he's in a world of his own.'
A minute later, the father-of-three was handed a yellow card by referee Rebecca Welch for handballing an effort from Jermain Defoe outside the area.
As a youngster, Nicky played football for St Kevin's Boys in Dublin before turning to the professional ranks and joining Leeds United as a goalkeeper in 1995. The World XI team won 5-4 with £15m (€17,600) raised for Unicef on the night. Pic: Ryan Browne/REX/Shutterstock
After two years with the British club, Byrne joined Shelbourne, and also had a stint with Cobh Ramblers.
At underage level, Nicky played for the Republic of Ireland. Though he retired as a soccer player, he's been well known to frequent charity matches such as Soccer Aid and also played as a substitute for Liverpool Legends XI in 2009.
Other Irish stars lining out for the World XI on Sunday night included Giants singer Dermot Kennedy as well as Irish football manager John O'Shea.
Opposition team members included former Manchester United players Gary Neville and Wayne Rooney as well as former One Direction star Louis Tomlinson.

Owen Farrell completes return to Saracens

Owen Farrell has rejoined Saracens from French club Racing 92. The former England captain called time on his 16-year stay with the Gallagher Premiership side at the end of last season. But fly-half Farrell has agreed to leave Racing 92 and return to Saracens after a disappointing, injury-disrupted campaign with the Top 14 outfit. He told the club's official website: "Saracens is my home and the opportunity to come back is one that excites me enormously. "Having watched from afar this season, it is clear to see that the club has incredible potential, and I can't wait to get back in the mix for the 25/26 season." The 33-year-old ex-club captain has signed a two-year deal at the StoneX Stadium to rejoin a club with whom he won three European Cups and six Premiership crowns. Farrell made his Saracens debut in 2008, 11 days after his 17th birthday, and amassed 256 appearances before heading for France. He has won 112 England caps and made six Test appearances for the British and Irish Lions, although he has not been included in the squad - coached by his father Andy - for this summer's tour of Australia. Farrell has not played Test rugby since the 2023 World Cup, initially taking a break to prioritise his mental wellbeing, before his move abroad made him ineligible for selection. Saracens director of rugby Mark McCall is hoping the vastly-experienced stand-off will play a role in what he believes will be an exciting future for the club. McCall said: "Owen has Saracens in his DNA. His competitive spirit is woven into the fabric of this club and we are delighted he has chosen to come home. "He returns to a young group full of potential, players eager to learn, play and push for success. We know he will love being part of where this group, and this club, are headed."

Leinster thrash the Bulls to secure URC title

LEINSTER won their first United Rugby Championship (URC) title in four years with a 32–7 win against the Bulls in Saturday's final at Croke Park. Despite the Irish rain making an appearance, a record crowd of 46,127 came out to see Leinster dominate the South African opposition. The match saw Leinster take an early lead, scoring three tries within the first 22 minutes. Captain Jack Conan, Jordie Barrett, and flanker Josh van der Flier were the try-scorers, showcasing the team's forward dominance. By halftime, Leinster had a 22–0 lead, leaving the Bulls with little opportunity to mount a serious comeback. Scrum-half Fintan Gunne, the only uncapped player in the match-day squad, added a late try to seal the victory and cap a superb team performance. Also despite missing several star players, including Tadhg Furlong, Hugo Keenan, and Jamison Gibson-Park, Leinster fielded a team rich in international experience. Nine of their starters are heading to Australia with Ireland's summer touring squad, and another eight are set for upcoming tests against Georgia and Portugal. Speaking after the match, Bulls head coach Jake White acknowledged the disparity in squad strength, saying, 'It was like Ireland versus the Bulls.' He noted that while Leinster could bring on players like RG Snyman, the Bulls finished the match with eight non-internationals. Although Gibson-Park was withdrawn pre-match due to a minor leg issue and James Ryan limped off early in the second half, head coach Leo Cullen reassured fans, stating, 'It's nothing serious. Both should be fine for the Lions.' With the Lions and Ireland tours set to begin within a week, Leinster's internationals now shift focus to the summer stage. Cullen expressed pride in their progress: 'A big part of our mission is developing players, and we're proud of how many are stepping up to the next level.' This victory not only ends Leinster's recent title drought but also reaffirms their position among Europe's most elite rugby clubs. See More: Bulls, Croke Park, Leinster, Leo Cullen, Rugby, URC

€10,000 in prizes is up for grabs this summer as Emerald Park celebrates a decade of the popular Cú Chulainn Coaster. Emerald Park has announced plans to give away €10k over 10 days from June 30 to July 9 to mark the milestone as the amusement park will have daily cash giveaways and hidden golden envelopes, as well as a new on-ride video experience. There will be €1,000 in prizes every day over the 10-day period and any group booking who attends the park before 1pm will be automatically entered into a draw for the cash raffle, which will take place every day at 2pm. "The Cú Chulainn Coaster has been at the heart of Emerald Park for the last decade and continues to be a massive draw for guests from Ireland and abroad," Managing Director of Emerald Park, Charles Coyle said. "This 10 year milestone is a celebration of all the thrills, laughter and unforgettable memories shared on this iconic coaster. "We're incredibly proud of what it represents and there's no better way to mark the occasion than by giving back to our guests with a €10,000 celebration full of fun, surprises and prizes." Among the other prizes include 10 golden envelopes which will be hidden across Emerald Park and its zoo every day. These will contain prizes such as park memberships, family day passes, merchandise and more. The Cú Chulainn Coaster is one of the most popular attractions at Emerald Park, having been launched in June 2015. It stands more than 32 metres high and drops 31 metres, reaching speeds of 100km/h. "Designing the Cú Chulainn Coaster was a truly special project for us at The Gravity Group. We set out to create a world class wooden rollercoaster that combined thrilling intensity with a uniquely Irish story and it's been incredible to see it embraced by millions of riders over the past 10 years," said Korey Kiepert, rollercoaster designer and founding partner at The Gravity Group. "Seeing Cú Chulainn Coaster become a landmark attraction in Europe and a point of pride for Emerald Park is immensely rewarding. Here's to the next decade of thrills!"
