However, the audio features on the two models differ. The BenQ EW2790U has dual 5W stereo speakers, while the EW3290U uses a 2.1 channel setup that includes two 2W speakers and a 5W subwoofer. Both monitors support six audio modes, including User, Dialogue/Vocal, Live/POP, Cinema, Game, and Studio Monitor, designed to optimise sound for different types of content.
Both monitors include BenQ's Eye-Care Suite, which incorporates Low Blue Light Plus technology, Flicker-Free screens, and Brightness Intelligence Plus Gen2. They also offer ergonomic adjustments like height, swivel, tilt, and pivot to help users customise their viewing position, according to the company.
The BenQ EW3290U comes with additional features such as a remote control with media keys, Scenario Hotkeys for switching between work, gaming, study, or movie settings quickly, and Display Pilot 2 software that includes tools like a Pomodoro Timer and Audio Equaliser.
Rajeev Singh, Managing Director of BenQ India, at the launch, said that the new monitors are designed to meet the changing needs of consumers who use displays for both work and entertainment. He added that the EW90U Series supports BenQ's goal to enhance everyday experiences through innovative technology.

Smart meter users save 78L on July electricity bills

Bhopal: Smart meter users in the state capital collectively saved Rs 78.65 lakh on their July electricity bills under the Time-of-Day (ToD) tariff scheme, the Madhya Kshetra Vidyut Vitaran Company (MKVVCL) said on Monday. The benefit reached 88,180 consumers in Bhopal alone, out of a total of 1,24,701 across the company's jurisdiction, who together claimed Rs 1.08 crore in rebates. The rebate, introduced under the new tariff order, offers a 20% discount on electricity consumed between 9 am and 5 pm, excluding any govt subsidy. It applies to eligible consumer categories under specific rules and conditions. In a media workshop held in the city, MKVVCL deputy chief general manager (City Circle) BBS Parihar said 1,96,026 smart meters were already installed in Bhopal City Circle, adding that "smart meters eliminate manual reading, ensure accurate billing, and help consumers track their power usage in real time." Parihar explained that with data updating every 15 minutes via the 'Upay' app, consumers can monitor daily, weekly or monthly consumption, predict upcoming bills, and identify wastage. He stressed that billing errors significantly reduced, and power theft prevention improved. The company installed over 3 lakh smart meters across 16 districts in the past year. "Not a single major glitch was reported," Parihar said, urging more residents to cooperate in installation drives. Officials said the ToD discount is also available to qualifying public water works, street lighting and industrial consumers during off-peak hours. Delhi To Organise It's First Industrial Ideathon, 652 Student Teams To Participate

Delhi's Industrial Ideathon 2025: The race to solve Delhi's toughest industrial problems has officially begun and the city's students are all in. In a first-of-its-kind Industrial Ideathon, a staggering 652 teams from top universities have signed up to take on challenges that range from untangling last mile logistics to helping small industries embrace Industry 4.0 technology. The contest, organised by the Delhi State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation (DSIIDC) in partnership with Netaji Subhash University of Technology (NSUT), has prizes worth Rs. 40 lakh on the line, but the real draw is the chance to pitch ideas directly to the people who shape policy and business in the capital. On August 13, NSUT will turn into an innovation war room as 124 shortlisted teams step into an intense eight-hour challenge. They'll tackle live problem statements, streamlining supply chains, making it easier to do business, integrating cutting-edge tech into small units, and helping MSMEs access finance and markets. The best 40 will earn a spot in the grand finale on August 22. Industries Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa says the massive turnout proves young Delhiites are ready to get their hands dirty solving real problems. "This overwhelming participation is proof that Delhi's youth want to be part of shaping our industrial future. They're ready to solve the real-world problems our businesses face every day," he said. Sirsa calls the initiative a bridge between classrooms, factory floors and government offices. "Students get to work on live problems with measurable impact, while policymakers gain fresh, actionable ideas straight from the country's brightest young minds. This is policy by participation in its truest form," he said. With over one lakh impressions on the official portal and more than 2,000 sign-ups during registration, the ideathon is already making waves beyond campus walls. All participants will get certificates, while winners will be felicitated by senior dignitaries at the closing ceremony. If the excitement around this debut edition is any indicator, Delhi's industrial policy may soon carry the fingerprints of its youngest problem-solvers. Students may visit for updates.
