CDK Launches SimplePay: Fast, Efficient Payments for Consumers, Greater Efficiency for Dealerships

AUSTIN, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- CDK, the leading automotive retail software provider, has introduced CDK SimplePay —a fully embedded, cloud-based solution that offers dealers a seamless, secure and scalable way to process payments while delivering a frictionless experience for customers. "CDK SimplePay provides an end-to-end solution that reduces friction, improves cash flow, and empowers dealerships to deliver a more transparent and satisfying experience for their customers.' -Sanjay Almeida, chief product officer at CDK Share As dealerships strive to meet rising consumer expectations, CDK SimplePay eliminates common payment challenges—such as fragmented systems, manual reconciliation, and compliance concerns—by integrating directly into the CDK platform. This seamless connection enables faster, more secure transactions and real-time visibility. SimplePay can be used for ongoing vehicle maintenance, service, parts, and down payments. A recent internal CDK study revealed that dealers spend up to 30% more-time reconciling payments when using third party processors. CDK SimplePay addresses this inefficiency by embedding payment workflows into the CDK ecosystem, enabling auto reconciliation, Europay, MasterCard and Visa (EMV) terminals, and real-time comprehensive customer payment options. 'Dealers have shared that they want more control, better support, and a simpler way to manage payments,' said Sanjay Almeida, chief product officer at CDK. 'SimplePay is our answer to that need—providing an end-to-end solution that not only reduces friction and improves cash flow but also empowers dealerships to deliver a more transparent and satisfying experience for their customers.' CDK SimplePay delivers the following key benefits to dealers: Seamlessly Embedded Solution in CDK Platform – No need to switch between tools or re-enter the same data, thus saving dealerships time and reducing errors. Cloud EMV Terminals – Payments are now processed through the cloud, making it easier to update, manage and scale across locations. Auto Reconciliation – Payment records are matched with accounting entries automatically, helping prevent human errors and reducing time spent on manual bookkeeping. Flexible Payment Options – Customers can pay in the way that's most convenient for them, including text-to-pay, tap-to-pay, mobile wallet services, and digital payment links. Security and Compliance – Includes built-in Payment Card Industry (PCI) compliance and advanced fraud protection to keep customer data safe and meet legal requirements. Operational Efficiency – By automating and simplifying payment workflows, dealerships can work faster, reduce delays, and improved how they manage cash flow. Fully Compliant Surcharging – Enables dealers in eligible states to offset credit card payment processing fees in a compliant and automated way, according to regulation. Concierge Experience – Dealers receive assistance with setup, training and ongoing support, making the transition smooth and stress-free. CDK SimplePay also enhances the consumer experience by offering faster checkouts, transparent pricing, and a familiar interface that supports partial payments, digital receipts, and real-time transaction summaries. Mastercard denies pressuring game platforms, Valve tells a different story

The outcry after a recent marketplace crackdown on games with adult content, seemingly due to pressure from payment processors, prompted Mastercard to release a brief statement Friday pushing back against recent headlines. 'Mastercard has not evaluated any game or required restrictions of any activity on game creator sites and platforms, contrary to media reports and allegations,' the company said, adding, 'At the same time, we require merchants to have appropriate controls to ensure Mastercard cards cannot be used for unlawful purchases, including illegal adult content.' This follows an open letter by the advocacy group Collective Shout addressed to executives at Paypal, Mastercard, Visa, and other companies, criticizing them for allowing the sale of 'No Mercy' and other games that depict rape, incest, and child sexual abuse. In the following weeks, Steam announced that it would ban games that violate the rules of its 'payment processors and related card networks and banks.' Then said it was removing games with adult content from its browse and search pages while conducting a broader audit. While Mastercard's statement seems to undermine the narrative that payment and card companies were the ones pressuring the game marketplaces, Steam owner Valve responded with a statement of its own, provided to PC Gamer and other gaming sites. According to Valve, 'Mastercard did not communicate with Valve directly, despite our request to do so. Mastercard communicated with payment processors and their acquiring banks. Payment processors communicated this with Valve, and we replied by outlining Steam's policy since 2018 of attempting to distribute games that are legal for distribution.' Valve said its response was 'rejected' by the payment processors, who noted the 'risk to the Mastercard brand' and pointed to a Mastercard rule against 'illegal or brand-damaging transactions.' Meanwhile, said that it's now re-indexing free games with adult content while negotiating with payment processors including Stripe, which for its part said it's 'unable to support sexually explicit content' due to 'banking partners.'
