McGregor, 37, took a major step to returning to the octagon last month by re-entering the UFC's drug testing pool and submitting a sample to them.
And his first test has come back negative for any banned substances.
Helwani added: "He also confirmed he is back in the pool, has submitted tests and all have come back clean. 'It's all systems a go,' he said."

He was set to return to the cage last June against Michael Chandler but withdrew from their long-overdue showdown with a broken pinky toe.
If McGregor fights again, his next outing will be his first since he was found civilly liable for having assaulted Nikita Hand at a Dublin hotel in December 2018.
McGregor appealed the verdict turned in at Dublin's High Court but lost his bid to overturn the civil verdict late last month.

Isak, 25, was the subject of a rejected £110million offer from Liverpool - with the St James' Park club wanting £150m to sell. However, having already splashed large sums on the likes of Florian Wirtz and Hugo Ekitike, Shearer took a dig at Isak after seeing the latter net the opener against Bournemouth. Ekitike had scored against Crystal Palace mere moments into his debut in the Community Shield, before also managing to score on his Anfield debut on Friday night. The Frenchman, who arrived on Merseyside for an initial £69m from Eintracht Frankfurt, took a pass from Alexis Mac Allister and nutmegged a Cherries defender before a lucky bounce put him through one-on-one and allowed him to slot home and open his Premier League account. Moses Itauma, 20, so calm and calculated even Mike Tyson wouldn't scare him, says Frank Warren

Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) FRANK WARREN reckons Moses Itauma is so calm and calculated that even the Planet's Baddest Man might struggle to scare him. At just 20 years old - with only 20 amateur and 12 entry-level pro bouts to his name - the Kent heavyweight faces 37-year-old brute Dillian Whyte tonight. Whyte warned the wonderkid to keep cool but later told talkSPORT that - if provoked - he could 'f*** up' the whole Itauma team. But Warren, who was famously left with an injured eye after a 2000 altercation with Mike Tyson, says nothing fazes his ice-cool prospect. The 73-year-old Hall-of-Famer told SunSport: 'Mike Tyson, in the early days, won 90 per cent of his fights outside the ring. "The intimidation was unbelievable. I mean, he really intimidated people. 'Most of the American heavyweight guys back then were from the streets but that's what he managed to do with a lot of them. 'There were a rare couple of fighters he couldn't intimidate, like Buster Douglas. "And he couldn't intimidate Evander Holyfield in any way, shape or form. Whyte has been involved in wild wars - verbally and physically, inside and outside of the ropes - with the likes of Anthony Joshua and Derek Chisora. Moses Itauma leaves sports psychologist baffled as he reveals boxing is his 'drug' ahead of Dillian Whyte fight But the howling heavyweight has played the quiet little lamb this week in Saudi Arabia. It looks like he is trying to lure the youngster into a false sense of security - before pouncing. But the Queensberry kingpin has total faith in his wonderkid-turned-man being the wolf in sheep's clothing. 'Everybody's trying to get the edge," he explained to us. "That's the way it is. 'Moses is a young guy, 20 years old, this is a bit of a new experience for him. "But he handled himself very well.
