Struggling with a mental block? Answer these 5 questions to ‘feel a shift in your body'

Call her new book a block-buster.
In 'You Have the Magic,' NYC-based influencer and manifestation coach Haley Hoffman Smith reveals the five questions to ask yourself to identify and break free of mental barriers limiting your success.
Hoffman Smith — who rose to fame on social media with her spiritual self-help videos and peeks into her luxury lifestyle — said she developed the Subconscious Breakthrough Formula through personal discovery she achieved in EFT tapping sessions.

EFT involves tapping on specific acupressure points with your fingertips while focusing on a particular issue or emotion and repeating affirming phrases.
'It's quite simple,' Hoffman Smith, 28, told The Post. 'If you don't yet have something you want or it's perpetually blocked, ask yourself these questions to work with the subconscious mind, and then you know exactly what to tap on and release.'
The evolution of the five questions

Hoffman Smith tested variations of the questions by herself and within her Dreamaway Membership, a program that promises 'deep subconscious rewiring, magnetic breakthroughs and daily energetic support' for $250 a month.
These five core queries deliver clarity, catharsis and 'delicious aha moments' in all aspects of life, including love, money and creativity, she said.

'I think we're used to asking ourselves, 'Why isn't this happening for me?' or 'Why is this so blocked despite my best conscious effort?' to which the answer is usually, 'I have no darn idea!'' Hoffman Smith said.

'The nature of subconscious breakthrough questions is they're asked in a way we don't expect, so it yields answers that have been eluding us.'
The five questions are:
What bad thing happens if this goal comes to fruition?
What do you believe you need to give up that you currently like about your life in order to bring this in?
Why does it make sense mentally that this is blocked for you? What is the evidence that you have for why this should be difficult or impossible?
What is an example of a time in the past when you also felt this way?
How would a new belief — or getting what you really want — be a mismatch for your identity and self-concept?
Tips for successfully using the formula

Hoffman Smith asks herself these questions 'quite frequently' when she seems blocked.
She recommends doing the same if you notice yourself 'continuously bumping up against the same pattern' or 'experiencing an invisible forcefield around something' you'd like to do.

The key is to find a space where you can go deep without distractions. Self-compassion and playful curiosity are important.
'I find that in early morning hours or late at night, I am most likely to have a big breakthrough because I'm in a lower brainwave state, so the subconscious mind is a bit more accessible,' Hoffman Smith said.
Slower brainwaves — associated with creativity, relaxation and reduced stress — are generally more prevalent in the evening as you prepare for bed.
How to tell if it's working
It's crucial to trace a situation to its root or understand why the subconscious is experiencing fear and resistance, Hoffman Smith said.

EFT tapping helps bring relief.
'It's highly encouraged to do some EFT tapping to clear the resistance and fear — and you'll know that's worked when you feel the actual shift in your body,' Hoffman Smith said.
'Fears dim, emotions release, stickiness melts, tightness loosens,' she added, 'and new perspectives and hope easily pour in.'

If that doesn't work, go deeper with the questions.
For example, you could ask yourself, 'What bad thing happens if I get subconscious clarity here?' and see if there's any resistance.
'However, in my several years of doing this work with thousands of people, these questions have always consistently yielded 'aha' moments,' Hoffman Smith said.

If you have significant trauma or suspect that subconscious investigation might bring triggering reflections, she recommends working with a licensed mental health provider.
'This is an explorative process, and the answers it yields can lead to gleeful epiphany or some deeper emotions,' she said.

‘From the World of John Wick: Ballerina' leaps into first position at the box office

The latest installment in the 'John Wick' series leaped into first position at the box office. 'From the World of John Wick: Ballerina,' pirouetted to the No. 1 spot Friday, its opener, raking in $10.65 million, according to The Numbers. The thriller, which The Post said 'has good fights, bad everything else,' is the fifth installment of the 'John Wick' franchise starring Keanu Reeves — and features Ana de Armas as a ballerina who doubles as an assassin. Landing in second was the live-action remake 'Lilo & Stitch,' with sales of $9.3 million. The film, which was slated to be a direct-to-streaming title on Disney+, went on to set the record as the biggest four-day Memorial Day weekend domestic opening of all time. 3 In 'From the World of John Wick: Ballerina,' Ana de Armas plays a ballerina who doubles as an assassin. ©Lions Gate/Courtesy Everett Collection 'I and the other filmmakers always believed that it could be a big, perfect summer blockbuster to go see on a huge screen,' its director, Dean Fleischer Camp, told Variety. 'I'm proud of how hard it delivers on that. It's super funny, it's action-packed, and it's super emotional.' Taking third was 'Mission: Impossible — The Final Reckoning' with $4 million in revenue. 3 Maia Kealoha made her film debut in 'Lilo & Stitch.' ©Walt Disney Co./Courtesy Everett Collection Tom Cruise's stunts in the film just earned him the Guinness World Record for most burning parachute jumps by an individual. 'The star leapt out of a helicopter 16 times while strapped to a parachute pre-soaked in fuel and lit ablaze, before cutting away the charred remnants of the first chute and safely deploying a backup. No other actor or stuntman has come close to that amount of death-defying drops,' the record book stated on its website. 3 Tom Cruise earned a Guinness World Record for his stunts in 'Mission: Impossible — The Final Reckoning.' ©Paramount/Courtesy Everett Collection Wes Anderson's 'The Phoenician Scheme,' which Slate called the filmmaker's 'worst yet,' was in fourth, with a $2.55 million dollar take. 'Karate Kid: Legends,' which The Post said was 'awful,' fought its way to fifth, earning $2.45 million.

The Best Moments From 15 Years of Governors Ball

This weekend, Governors Ball returns to NYC's Flushing Meadows Corona Park for another packed festival weekend — and the 2025 edition marks its 15th anniversary. Headliners Tyler, the Creator, Olivia Rodrigo, and Hozier are gearing up to create some memorable moments, as will the burgeoning acts who might just have their own breakout sets. As fans prepare for the start to another summer festival season, here's a look back at some jaw-dropping moments that have defined the celebration. In June of 2024, Chappell Roan was just about to hit a new apex of her career. She had put on a series of viral performances already: NPR's Tiny Desk, Colbert, Coachella. Little did everyone know that her appearance at Gov Ball would put her over the edge. She entered the stage in a giant apple, painted as the Statue of Liberty and smoking a blunt. It was dramatic, daring and, most importantly, fun. But before she even stole the weekend with both her iconic outfit and stellar performance, her reputation as the summer's must-catch live show preceded her: aerial shots of the crowd showed a headliner-worthy crowd filing in for her mid-day performance. Any heavy rainfall would immediately upturn the ground at Randall's Island, the fest's former stomping grounds, leading to endless mud and a canceled weekend. When the last day of the 2016 weekend was canceled due to storms, headliner Kanye West announced a surprise show at Webster Hall later that night, a club with only a 1,350 person capacity. He didn't seem to anticipate that thousands more would show up, leading to chaos in the streets of Manhattan that West watched from the roof of his car. The show did not in fact go on due to the mayhem but at least those fans got a good story. When Azealia Banks joined the Gov Ball line-up in 2013, it had been two years since her last hometown show. She played in the Sky Vodka tent, a small side stage that could barely contain the thousands who spilled out and into the field to watch Banks put on a career-defining set. Clad in an orange bodysuit and joined by her back-up dancers, she gave a stellar pop show for the audience while still a year away from releasing her debut album. During his 2024 set, Peso Pluma made a wrong step and fractured his foot while performing. The moment went unnoticed by the audience but a crew member brought him a chair a little later in case he needed it. But like a true superstar, he powered through the injury and didn't give any less of a rousing set to all the fans. He just did the rest on mostly one foot. 'If I have it fractured, I don't give a s— because you all deserve a grand show,' he said. When OutKast announced their reunion in 2014, they became a big draw of the entire festival season. But a lackluster performance at Coachella that year left fans and critics wanting more. Thankfully, they had a headlining set at Gov Ball that summer to help redeem their live skills. The hits-laden set made Coachella look like it was just a rehearsal. Killer Mike joined the duo on stage to perform 'The Whole World.' Before Kendrick Lamar and 'Not Like Us,' there was Pusha T's 'Infrared.' The Clipse member was in the middle of a public beef with Drake when he played Gov Ball in 2018, replacing Brockhampton last minute. He performed his Drake diss 'Infrared' for the crowd, a track claimed Drake used ghostwriters. The song was so well-received that the audience transformed into a 'Fuck Drake!' chant not once but of Rolling Stone The 50 Greatest Eminem Songs All 274 of Taylor Swift's Songs, Ranked The 500 Greatest Albums of All Time
