'Shocking' Tottenham slammed for 'disrespecting' fans before Bodo/Glimt semi-final
Tottenham are looking to salvage some positivity from a dreadful season by earning success in the Europa League and they must first find a way past semi-final opponents Bodo/Glimt
William Gallas has ripped into Tottenham's stars for their dismal Premier League efforts ahead of their Europa League semi-final. The Lilywhites sit in the bottom half of the Premier League but face Bodo/Glimt in the last four of the European competition.
Spurs were dismantled by Liverpool at Anfield ahead of facing their Norwegian opponents and suffered their 19th loss in the Premier League. While the north London side are safe from relegation, they could yet finish just one place above the bottom three and are a single point above West Ham having lost their last three league matches.
And ex-defender Gallas believes that Tottenham's stars have disrespected their supporters. The Frenchman, who spent three seasons at White Hart Lane during his career, lamented the efforts of Ange Postecoglou's stars.
"The Tottenham players, what they are thinking right now?" Gallas said to Prime Casino. "Because now they know they are safe in the Premier League. Their position is what, 16th? It's very crazy. It's shocking. It's very disrespectful to the fans. It's not good enough.
"They will stay in the Premier League, that's what they are thinking right now. They are thinking only about that semi-final they have to play in the Europa League.
"All of them are thinking about the semi-final. They don't care about winning games in the Premier League anymore. That's unacceptable."
Gallas believes Postecoglou could lose his job without winning the Europa League this term. The Aussie's position has already come under a great deal of scrutiny and he is under growing pressure, despite repeatedly defending his position.
"If they win the Europa League, OK, everybody will clap," Gallas added. "But we don't know if you will manage it. But if they don't, I'm sorry. I think the manager is going to be sacked. Some players, they don't know how to defend, they are not defending, they are not giving 100 percent."
Speaking ahead of the game against Bodo/Glimt, James Maddison revealed he was embarrassed by Spurs' efforts against Liverpool.
'No-one in the whole club - from top to bottom - can be satisfied internally, to be satisfied with where we are. It definitely hurts. I had to do an interview at Liverpool on Sunday and we had lost 5-1," he said.
"It is a little bit embarrassing, I am a bit embarrassed myself and you have to go and talk. And I know no-one actually wants to hear what I have got to say because they want to see the reaction. And get the reaction.
"And that is the chance we have on Thursday night which is the beauty of the quick turnaround because we can go and put it right on Thursday if we get a good result."

Pep Guardiola hails Man City after impressive win over Juventus
Erling Haaland scored his 300th career goal and Rodri played 66 minutes on his first start since September as City moved through the gears at Orlando's Camping World Stadium on Thursday. City defied intense heat and a later torrential downpour to sweep aside a Juventus team that beat them 2-0 in the Champions League last season. A simply outstanding display! 🩵 🦓 2-5 🩵 #FIFACWC — Manchester City (@ManCity) June 26, 2025 Guardiola's team looked more like the all-conquering outfit they have been for much of the Spaniard's reign rather than the ponderous side that laboured through much of the 2024-25 campaign. The statement victory ensured they won Group G with a 100 per cent record and theoretically secured a more favourable route through a tournament they must now be among the favourites to win. City manager Guardiola said: 'I liked the way we did it. It has been a long time since we had a performance like this on and off the ball. The players were committed and we are happy to beat a top side. 'This is just one game but I think the players felt again what it was like to be a good team. It's the first time we've performed the way we can. 'We won the last two but we adjusted a few things. I'm really pleased because the players realise what we have to do to get back to what we were in the last decade. 'The belief always comes from your performances, not your past.' The loss of Rodri with a serious knee injury for the majority of last season was one of the key reasons for their failure to match the standards of the past. After winning the Premier League for the previous four years, City failed to mount a strong title defence and exited the Champions League before the last 16. His appearance in Orlando represented a notable step up in his comeback after three substitute outings. Guardiola said: 'Sooner or later Rodri had to start. I said, 'OK, 45 minutes' but at half-time he said he wanted five to 10 minutes more. The game was under control. 'In the last few games we have conceded a lot of transitions but it didn't happen this time. Everyone knows how important Rodri is. He is one of the best players in the world.' City's early opener from Jeremy Doku was cancelled out by Teun Koopmeiners after an Ederson error but a Pierre Kalulu own goal restored the English side's lead. Haaland, Phil Foden and Savinho all struck in the second half as City made victory certain before a Dusan Vlahovic consolation. An electric performance ⚡️@JeremyDoku is your Man of the Match! ✨ — Manchester City (@ManCity) June 26, 2025 Away from the tournament, City midfielder Jack Grealish has not travelled to the United States. Guardiola had little to say on reports linking the England international with Bayern Munich. He said: 'I wish him the best but I don't know what is going to happen.'.

Tottenham Hotspur sue Sir Jim Ratcliffe's Ineos for £11m
Tottenham Hotspur have lodged a High Court claim for £11million against Sir Jim Ratcliffe's company Ineos Automotive, the club's former sponsor. Court documents show that Spurs are alleging that Ineos failed to make a payment as contracted of just under £500,000 in August last year and in December missed a payment of £5.1million for the 2025-26 season. A five-year sponsorship agreement was signed in 2022, worth a minimum of £17.5million overall, but Spurs terminated the contract in March this year, claiming the decision was prompted by Ineos's failure to pay. As part of the deal, Ineos named seats in the Spurs dugout, had advertising displayed on big screens at matches and its Grenadier car became the club's 4×4 vehicle partner. As first reported by The Lawyer, Spurs are seeking just over £11million from Ineos — £5.5m for missed payments last year, another £5.3milllion for the 2026-27 season, the final year of the original sponsorship deal, as well as £300,000 in interest. In 2024, Ratcliffe's Ineos Group bought a 29 per cent stake in Manchester United, one of Spurs' Premier League rivals and their opponents in the Europa League final on May 21, and it now runs the football operations at the Old Trafford club. Ratcliffe has withdrawn from other sports-related deals, including those with the All Blacks rugby team and Sir Ben Ainslie's America's Cup team. An Ineos statement read: 'We had a contractual right to terminate our partnership contract and in December 2024 exercised that right. 'Like any business, we have to be diligent in how we operate and where we invest marketing budgets. It's completely normal for partnerships to be reviewed on a regular basis, and we've decided that the partnership wasn't working out for us. We have the right to terminate the partnership.'
