Vizione, Permaju unit terminate RM250m construction deal over project uncertainty

VIZIONE Holdings Bhd and Permaju Property Sdn Bhd (PPSB) have mutually agreed to terminate a RM250 million construction contract, citing uncertainties related to project approvals and commercial viability.
In a filing with Bursa Malaysia today, Vizione said PPSB, a wholly owned subsidiary of Permaju Industries Bhd, intends to re-submit the project's development plans to the authorities.
Following a reassessment, both parties agreed to terminate the letter of award (LOA) on an amicable basis, effective immediately.
'No work related to the LOA was commenced and the company did not incur any material cost related to the LOA since its acceptance on December 7, 2023,' Vizione said.
The contract, first announced in December 2023, covered the third phase of a 10-phase development under a joint .
At the time of the award, only two phases had been completed. The project was initially scheduled to begin on Jan 1, 2025.
The termination is not expected to have any material impact on Vizione's earnings per share or net assets per share in the immediate future. –TMR

NSCMA president starts NSCMH private placement

Dato' Seri Lee Tian Hock, Director of CMH Medical Holdings Bhd., briefed attendees on the private placement and hospital's development plans. SEREMBAN: NSCMH Holdings Sdn Bhd has launched its private placement exercise with a strong show of confidence from the Negri Sembilan Chinese Maternity Association (NSCMA) president, Datuk Seri Lee Tian Hock (pic), who became the first subscriber with a RM25mil investment for 10 million shares. In a statement, NSCMH Holdings said support also came swiftly from the Seremban Wah Chai Association and the Negeri Sembilan Persatuan Hainan, which committed RM1mil and RM250,000, respectively. Following a briefing session, the three parties submitted their subscription forms on the spot. The private placement, priced at RM2.50 per share, is open to members of the NSCMA, employees, association members, and attending doctors of CMH Specialist Hospital and CMH Dialysis Care. A minimum subscription of 100,000 shares applies, with the exercise running until Sept 6. Lee conducted the briefing, outlining the mechanics of the placement, the hospital's long-term development blueprint and answering questions from attendees. He assured that should the subscription be oversubscribed, he would reduce his portion to accommodate others. However, if undersubscribed, he would take up the balance to ensure the success of the exercise. 'This is not only a fundraising initiative but also a commitment to social responsibility. 'By leading with my own investment, I hope to inspire confidence and drive collective participation towards the success of this private placement,' Lee said. NSCMH Holdings plans to issue 18 million new shares. It is targeting RM45mil to finance 30% of the RM120mil construction cost for CMH Specialist Hospital's new medical block. This comes under its phase two redevelopment project. The remaining RM80mil will be funded through bank borrowings guaranteed personally by Lee, with corporate guarantees from NSCMA and NSCMH Holdings. Lee stressed that the arrangement does not involve mortgaging hospital land or buildings and complies fully with the association's constitution. Upon completion of the exercise, NSCMA will retain a controlling stake of 69% in the company.

Unity Ministry Seeks RM250 Mln Under Budget 2026 For Five Initiatives

KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 18 (Bernama) -- The National Unity Ministry (KPN) is seeking a RM250 million allocation under Budget 2026 to implement five initiatives aimed at strengthening community harmony and empowering communities. Its minister, Datuk Aaron Ago Dagang said the Unity and National Identity initiative involves an allocation of RM100 million to implement the Flagship Kembara Perpaduan programme to strengthen the nation-building agenda. 'The Community Harmony and Well-being initiative, with an allocation of RM100 million, aims for a more progressive Neighbourhood Watch Areas (KRT) by revitalising the Voluntary Patrol Scheme, empowering Community Mediators, and implementing the MADANI Harmony Initiative. "Under the 'Ini Warisan Kita' (This is Our Heritage) initiative, an allocation of RM10 million is for the acquisition of historical materials and national heritage treasures to be preserved and inherited by future generations, while the 'Transformasi Pendigitalan' (Digitalisation Transformation) initiative, with an allocation of RM20 million, is for the digitalisation of national heritage treasures including museums, archives, and libraries to make them more accessible to the public," he said in his speech during the ministry's Budget 2026 dialogue session here today. He said that the fifth initiative, Conducive Unity Premises, with an allocation of RM20 million, aims to improve the facilities and amenities of agencies under the KPN for the well-being of the people. "Last year, the allocation we requested was RM290 million, but we only received RM90 million. For next year, we are requesting RM250 million, and we hope it will be considered because there are many more activities we want to carry out," he said. In a similar development, Aaron also hopes that the Finance Ministry and the Inland Revenue Board will consider providing tax exemption incentives to companies that contribute directly to unity programmes or activities at the community level. "We know that in Malaysia, there are many large companies that can help us provide funds for activities, but these companies, no matter how much money they give, will claim tax relief under social responsibility," he also said. Today's dialogue session involved government agencies, non-governmental organisations (NGOs), KRT, associations, and students from institutions of higher learning (IPTs) to discuss needs, suggestions, and priorities related to the Budget 2026.
