Rahman, 21, was nearby during the whole attack also holding a knife and advancing towards the men they attacked.
The three men were located two days later in the centre of Coventry.
Raza and Ahmadzi ran away from officers but Rahman was detained and in possession of an axe.
Officers caught up with Raza and Ahmadzi later the same day and arrested them.
Rahman tried to claim in interview that while he was there and seen holding a knife, he hadn't actually been involved.
He told officers he had witnessed the assault and only picked up the knife because he didn't want anyone to use it.
Rahman was convicted of his involvement following a trial at Warwick Crown Court.
Raza and Ahmadzi pleaded guilty and the trio were sentenced last Friday:
- Hanif Rahman, of Rye Hill, Coventry: Jailed for five years for wounding, possession of a bladed article and possession of an offensive weapon.
- Emal Ahmadzi, of Skelmersdale, Lancashire: Jailed for four-and-a-half years for wounding and possession of a bladed article.
- Said Raza, of Emscote Road, Warwick: Jailed for four years and nine months for wounding and possession of a bladed article.

Thieves steal pink diamond worth $25 million, caught hours later
Dubai police said on Monday they caught three thieves just hours after they stole a precious pink diamond worth $25 million. "The Dubai Police General Command has foiled the theft of a very rare pink diamond, valued at $25 million," the police said in a statement shared by the United Arab Emirates' official news agency WAM. A diamond trader who had brought the jewel from Europe was lured to a villa by a crime gang under the pretense of a viewing by a potential wealthy client, police said. But the gem was stolen when the diamond dealer arrived for the bogus inspection, the statement added. "I just had a problem," a man can be heard saying on an emergency call released by the Dubai Media Office. "I came to meet a client to sell a diamond to them. They looked at the stone and now ... it's stolen." Within eight hours three people from an unspecified Asian country were arrested "thanks to the efforts of specialized and field teams, and by using the latest artificial intelligence technologies," police said. Video footage shared by the Dubai Media Office showed the three men with their faces blurred after their arrest as well as CCTV footage of the gang. Dubai is an important hub for diamond trading. Tightly controlled and policed, the UAE prides itself on its security and stability. The heist came just days after police said a group of thieves stole $2 million of merchandise from a family-owned jewelry store in Seattle in a daylight robbery that took only 90 seconds. Alaska Sen. Stadium ban for man arrested for racially abusing Premier League star Antoine Semenyo
A 47-year-old man, who was arrested after the Premier League's season opener on Friday due to alleged racist abuse, has been banned from attending any regulated soccer match in the United Kingdom. The incident occurred during Friday's match between Liverpool and Bournemouth, with broadcast video showing a fan engaging with Bournemouth player Antoine Semenyo, while the forward went to retrieve a ball for an impending throw-in. The fan can be seen shouting and pointing at the winger just before the Ghanaian restarted play. Local police said Saturday that a man had been arrested following reports racist abuse was directed towards Semenyo. 'He has now been bailed with conditions, which includes not to attend any regulated football match in the UK and not to go within one mile of a designated football stadium,' Merseyside police said in a statement Monday. The police added that the investigation into the incident 'remains ongoing and we continue to work closely with the club.' On Saturday, Semenyo posted a statement to X, formerly known as Twitter, saying that the night will 'stay with me forever - not because of one person's words, but because of how the entire football family stood together.' The 25-year-old winger thanked both his Bournemouth teammates and Liverpool's players, as well as the match officials for reacting in the way they did. He went on to score both of Bournemouth's goals, though the Cherries ultimately still succumbed to a 4-2 defeat. 'Scoring those two goals felt like speaking the only language that truly matters on the pitch,' Semenyo added. 'This is why I play - for moments like these, for my teammates, for everyone who believes in what this beautiful game can be. 'The overwhelming messages of support from across the football world remind me why I love this sport. We keep moving forward, together.' The English FA also released a statement following the incident, stating the organization was 'concerned' about the alleged 'discrimination from an area of the crowd' and pledged to work with authorities, both clubs and match officials to 'establish the facts and ensure the appropriate action is taken.'
