Noida: The cities of Noida and Ghaziabad witnessed overwhelming public participation on the 11th International Yoga Day, celebrated on Friday under the theme 'One Earth for One Health'.
Residents gathered in large numbers across parks, stadiums, residential societies, offices, and hospitals, embracing yoga for physical and mental well-being.
In Noida, the main event was held at Noida Stadium, Sector 21A, led by minister-in-charge Brijesh Singh, principal secretary of tourism, culture and charitable works Mukesh Kumar Meshram, and district magistrate Manish Kumar Verma. Thousands joined a mass yoga session conducted by trained instructors.
Brijesh Singh also planted saplings at the venue, promoting environmental awareness.
Ghaziabad's central event took place at IMS Dasna, with deputy chief minister Keshav Prasad Maurya as the chief guest. Organised by the District Administration and Civil Defense, the event saw huge participation from government officials, residents, and civil society.
A live telecast of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's address was screened at both venues.

"Yoga is not just a physical activity; it is a sadhana that strengthens the spirit of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam—the world is one family," he said.
District magistrate Verma emphasized the widespread outreach: "Inspired by the Prime Minister and chief minister Yogi Adityanath, Yoga Day was observed across the district—from stadiums to homes. Yoga must become a part of our daily lives for a healthier nation."
Residential sectors in Noida, including 28, 35, 46, 55, 62, 105, and 7X, hosted enthusiastic community sessions.
In Sector 46, RWA president Vijay Kumar Rana shared, "We had a vibrant turnout. Yoga T-shirts and fruit refreshments added to the spirit." One of the largest gatherings occurred at Shivalik Park, where over 5,000 people participated in a mega session organised by the Vishwa Jain Organisation.
Corporate and medical institutions also joined the celebrations. DLF Mall of India, Noida Child PGI, and GIMS hosted sessions for employees and students.
At GIMS, director Dr Rakesh Gupta noted the distribution of tablets under the Swami Vivekanand Digishakti Scheme and basic life support training for staff. To complement the yoga activities, Arogya India Wellness Center organized a free health check-up camp at Noida Stadium, reinforcing the day's message of holistic health and wellness.
Meanwhile in Delhi, over 2,000 yoga enthusiasts gathered at Kartavya Path, their voices rising in unison with the chant of 'Om'.
International Yoga Day 2025 unfolded as a vibrant display of unity and mindfulness, organised by the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC). The morning began with a live telecast of the Prime Minister's address from Visakhapatnam, which set the tone for the 11th edition of the celebration.
In the presence of Union health minister JP Nadda and NDMC vice-chairman, Kuljeet Singh Chahal, the session was led by Acharya Pragya Sagar in collaboration with the Morarji Desai National Institute of Yoga.
Addressing the crowd, Nadda said, "People around the world are doing yoga to stay healthy, and more and more people have started practising yoga in the past ten years."
NDMC made seamless arrangements across eight locations, including mobile toilets, healthcare services, and drinking water. Additionally, yoga protocol events were organised at NDMC Old Age Home and Working Women's Hostel, among other venues.

More than 1 lakh participants including Haryana governor Bandaru Dattatreya, chief minister Nayab Singh Saini and yoga guru Baba Ramdev among others performed yoga together at the state level function organised on the banks of Brahmsarovar in Kurukshetra on Saturday. (PTI) Saini said, 'From today itself, a 5-minute yoga-break programme will be started in all government offices of the state. Its purpose is to provide a stress-free environment to the employees.' Saini said that a credit-based system will be started for the evaluation of students' yoga performance in all government schools. Along with this, yoga will also be implemented as an academic course in all universities and colleges of Haryana, Saini said. He said that yoga and naturopathy subjects will be recognised under the Ayush medical system from this year itself and government registration of doctors of these subjects will also be started. Saini also released three booklets based on the biography and yoga journey of Baba Ramdev and the Yoga protocol booklet prepared by Haryana Yoga Commission. During the programme, 1 lakh saplings were distributed to yoga practitioners by the forest department. Saini also praised the district administration for making all efforts to prepare for the grand and successful organisation of the programme for the last 25 also said that DC Neha Singh's is among the top four deputy commissioners of the state. Health minister Aarti Singh Rao, MP Naveen Jindal, former minister of state Subhash Sudha, health additional chief secretary Sudhir Rajpal and Ayush director general Sanjeev Verma were also present at the Yoga Day programme . Saini said that the day is not far when Haryana will emerge as a new power in the field of logistics and supply chain and the Dheerpur depot will prove to be a milestone in the creation of developed India-developed Haryana.'This will increase the prosperity of the farmers, entrepreneurs and businessmen of the state and our youth will get new employment opportunities. The investment of Dubai's Saraf Group in Haryana reflects deep faith in our economic policies and business-friendly environment here, which is also a symbol of strengthening economic relations between India and the United Arab Emirates,' he said. 'This container depot equipped with modern facilities has been built on 18 acres of land. Apart from this, a multimodal logistics park is being operated by Saraf Group on 115 acres of land in Palwal. A transship hub is also being developed on 30 acres of land in Rewari. Former chief minister Manohar Lal had given his consent to this project during his Dubai visit, citing the example of ease of doing business. This ICD project is a stamp on our simple policies of the logistics and economic sector in Haryana and a go-global approach,' he added.

Vijayawada: Yoga is the cultural treasure of India and daily yoga practice is essential for maintaining good health and well-being, said district Collector G Lakshmisha. He further stated that yoga fosters mental calmness and leads to a happy and healthy life, while addressing International yoga Day celebrations at Indira Gandhi Municipal Corporation (IGMC) stadium here on Saturday. Several thousands of yoga lovers, students, government employees and others participated in the celebrations. Chief Commissioner of Land Administration (CCLA) Special Chief Secretary G Jayalakshmi, Vijayawada city Police Commissioner SV Rajasekhar Babu, Joint Collector S Ilakkiya, DCP KGV Saritha, former minister Peetala Sujatha, APNGO State president A Vidyasagar, and others took part in Yoga Day celebrations. Collector Lakshmisha mentioned that for the past month, yoga sessions were held on Yoga Street in the city with the participation from various department officials, staff, voluntary organisations, the Yoga Association, yoga walkers' groups, ex-servicemen, and people from different sections of society. He said around 8,50,000 people were trained in the city and practiced yoga as per the common yoga protocol during the past one month. He emphasised the need for yoga to become a part of everyone's life. He further said yoga fosters mental calmness and leads to a happy and healthy life. He urged every employee to dedicate some time to yoga daily to boost immunity and improve blood circulation. Commissioner of Police (CP) SV Rajasekhar Babu stated that in honor of International Yoga Day, yoga events were conducted for an entire month involving various themes and venues including on BRTS Road and other places like Kondapalli fort, Berm park etc. He said the NTR district set a world record with a floating yoga session on the Krishna River using watercraft. He urged everyone to incorporate yoga into their daily lives, adding that yoga helps relieve stress and brings mental peace. Collector Dr G Lakshmisha presented certificates and mementos to yoga association members, who played key role in achieving the floating yoga world record and to district officials and staff who actively participated in the month-long yoga festival. The month-long Yoga campaign conducted by NTR district administration and other associations ended on Saturday with a mega programme at IGMC stadium.
