UFC 316 winner Andreas Gustafsson spoke to MMA Junkie and reporters post-fight after his unanimous decision victory over Khaos Williams.
NEWARK, N.J. – Andreas Gustafsson met the media Saturday after his win over Khaos Williams at UFC 316.
Gustafsson (12-2 MMA, 1-0 UFC) took a unanimous decision from Williams (15-5 MMA, 6-4 UFC) on the preliminary card at Prudential Center. He was an underdog in the fight, but also took the matchup on a week's notice.
Gustafsson was set to fight a week prior against Jeremiah Wells, but had an opponent switch to Trevin Giles on short notice. Then Giles suffered an injury on weigh-in day that canceled the fight. Gustafsson got pushed to a bigger event at UFC 316, but had to endure the drama of changing matchups and the annoyance of back-to-back weight cuts.
'It's a long and never-ending fight week – the first week when you have weight, and then you have to start over,' Gustafsson said at his post-fight news conference. 'That's life. It feels great (to win).'

Liz Carmouche is not slowing down. Despite turning 41 earlier this year, Carmouche (25-8) is still adding records and titles to her already impressive resume. It appeared she edged out Bishop in a close first round, and then found herself in trouble in the second, surviving several close submission attempts from Bishop. In Round 3, that's where the magic happened for Carmouche. She connected a brutal, counter left hook on Bishop's shin, dropped her, and then followed up with a few shots on the ground to close out the show. After the fight, in her post-fight interview, Carmouche called for the opening of the a women's bantamweight division in the PFL and a fight with PFL star and 2024 tournament champion Dakota Ditcheva. "I would love to do a super fight at 135 (pounds), and get that division in here and headline," Carmouche said. "I think that would be amazing. I think when Dakota is healthy, I would love to get a chance to fight Dakota." With this win, Carmouche finds herself on a three-fight winning streak and 12-1 since leaving the UFC in 2020. This latest feat adds to Carmouche's impressive resume. She's a former two-time UFC title challenger, was the last Bellator women's flyweight champion – a title she defended three times, and is now a PFL tournament winner.

UFC heavyweight suspended for doping violation originally appeared on The Sporting News The UFC career of Alvin Hines is in serious jeopardy. The heavyweight, who lost his Octagon debut at UFC 317 earlier this year, has been suspended for a year after a failed drug test. Hines, who took a bout with Jhonata Diniz on short notice in June, tested positive for the anabolic steroid Drostanolone, the promotion announced. The test results were released by Combat Sports Anti-Doping (CSAD). MORE: Dana White still has trust with Conor McGregor to make big fights A native of Minnesota, Hines was also found to have 3a-Hydroxy-2a-methyl-5a-androstan-17-one and testosterone metabolites, as well as a metabolite of Tamoxifen, 3-Hydroxy-4-methooxytamoxifen, a hormone and metabolic modulator in his system. The tests were take from samples collected both in-competition and out-of-competition. In the release, the UFC noted that the cases reflected that Hines consumed the substances that are banned before he was signed to the UFC, but that he also failed to disclose taking them when his onboarding into the UFC Anti-Doping Program was completed just days before his bout. "Under the UFC ADP, CSAD evaluates each case and can reduce periods of ineligibility based on the athlete's degree of fault and their level of cooperation," the UFC said in a statement. " While Hines failed to disclose his prior use of these substances during onboarding, the estimated concentrations of these substances in Hines' samples were reflective that they were near the tail end of excretion and supported his explanation of their use prior to being signed to the UFC and entering the UFC registered testing pool." The suspension started on July 11, 2025 and runs for one year.
