If you're planning to get a pixie cut for fine hair, there are a few key things to keep in mind before making the chop.
Whether you're drawn to the laid-back feel of a choppy pixie or prefer the lived-in shape of an asymmetrical cut, it's essential to spend time with your stylist during your consultation. Make sure they understand your hair type, how it behaves, your personal style, and how much time—and money—you're willing to invest in maintaining your look.
According to Dale Herne, hairstylist at Hershesons Fitzrovia, it's all about the length. 'If the hair is too short, this can eliminate any texture, and when you apply product, the cut can sit too flat against your head,' he says.
'What I recommend doing with pixie cuts for fine hair is leaving the length a little longer, getting the shape right, and then when you apply product it creates the illusion of a tighter crop.'
For coily or curly hair, Herne offers this advice: 'It's better to cut all the sides and back and freehand the top of the hair. That way, you create a cool shape without going too short,' he tells ELLE.
Unless you're going for a buzz cut, it's important not to over-cut. 'You want to keep the softness,' he adds.
'Ideally, you want to let hair dry naturally, run your fingers through it, and 'scruff' the roots a bit,' says Herne. A leave-in conditioner with styling benefits—like the Living Proof Air Dry Styler—helps, too.
'You can also rough-dry the hair with a diffuser and use your fingers to create texture and body,' Herne adds.
Pixie cuts should always have some texture, rather than sitting flat against the scalp. 'The more movement, the better,' says Herne.
If you're ready to take the plunge, this close‑crop pixie is ultra‑short yet maintains a soft, refined silhouette that looks oh‑so‑chic.
Featuring longer lengths, this sleek pixie cut is equal parts elegant and relaxed—thanks to the side-parted styling trick.
Keep things extra cool and statement-making with a flipped-out pixie crop and choppy bangs.

Is Leah Williamson in a relationship?

Leah Williamson, footballer and captain of the England women's national team, has long sparked dating rumours with Elle Smith, an American model and former Miss USA winner. From sweet holiday snaps to celebrating her football wins together, the 28-year-old and her beau have somewhat soft-launched their relationship on Instagram over the last few months. However, from what we, and other social media sleuths (see: fans of the pair), can see, they're yet to actually make it 'official.' So, let's take a deep dive into their rumoured relationship, including some of the sweetest moments so far... Last month, Elle took to her Instagram to share snippets of her Majorcan holiday with her 127K followers. While many shots showed off her summer fits and stunning views of the Spanish island, a couple of pics saw the pair looking super loved up. Case in point: slide 3 caught Leah and Elle on a paddleboard together, while slide 17 saw Elle snap a candid pic of the footballer dressed up and heading out for dinner. Leah also posted snaps of the getaway — where they were celebrating Elle's birthday — which included a gorgeous photo of the pair at dinner. A selfie of the two was featured in the carousel too, which saw Leah and Elle sunkissed and smiling. Elle commented on the holiday roundup: "same time next year?" to which Leah responded: "yes please x." Err, cute. Back in May, Elle posted a black and white shot of her cuddling Leah, who was sitting on her lap. Leah was clutching a medal and wearing an England shirt following her team's 6-0 win against Portugal. The post also included footage of the match, in which Elle could be heard cheering on the team. Leah commented on the post: "We did it!" Even earlier in March, Elle posted a video of her and Leah floating in the ocean on a paddleboard. Leah appeared to be lying down and resting her head on Elle's legs, as they had a sweet, intimate chat. Elle accompanied the post with the caption: "happy birthday my love x." Leah responded with the cutest emojis: "🥰🤭🧜‍♀️." Interestingly, this Insta post sparked 'official' comments from fans, with one person writing: "The mother of hard launches!" Others said: "So happy for you!" while another person said they were the "cutest" together. Officially obsessed with these two.

Forget Leopard—Cow Print Is the Surprising Trend of Summer

Every item on this page was chosen by an ELLE editor. We may earn commission on some of the items you choose to buy. What is the bellweather for the latest summer trend, you ask? It's not about how many runways feature this design, nor about the virality of it on TikTok. Apparently, the way to know the Next Big Thing is to check if a Kardashian toddler has been spotted wearing it. And since True Thompson (Khloé Kardashian's daughter, for those not in the know) was recently seen donning the now-sold-out Prada Galleria Cow Print Bag, it solidifies what we should have already known: The era of leopard is over, and we have now entered into Cow Print Summer. We're no strangers to wearing animal prints. From snake to zebra, we've seen nearly every faux exotic in stores and on the runways. But in a post-Cowboy Carter world, where Bella Hadid is now a rodeo star and cowboy boots still reign supreme, it should come as no surprise that we've moved past big cats and arrived at bovine prints at last. From Holsteins to Guernseys, cowhide prints (or the real deal in hide form) have made their way to our shoes, bags, jeans, and belts. Whether you opt for a classic black-and-white print or something scattered with neutral browns and tans, the cow print trend is surprisingly simple to incorporate into your wardrobe. A standout bag or pair of sneakers paired with simple blue jeans is enough to do the trick, but you can also opt for a cow print dress if you want to beat the all hat, no cattle allegations. While Western wear is a quintessential summer vibe, cowhide—especially in coat and boot forms—is a trend we expect to spot well into the fall. So, you can officially say goodbye to shearling accessories and leopard spring skirts. Here, find some of our go-to moo-worthy picks if you want to explore the trend. Every product featured on is independently researched, tested, or editor-approved. Bella Hadid's $50 Western Shirt Is a Transitional Wardrobe Staple

Every item on this page was chosen by an ELLE editor. We may earn commission on some of the items you choose to buy. As a former horse girl myself, I'm living for Bella Hadid's cowgirl era. Over the past year, the model has given us a masterclass in equestrian-inspired fashion, mixing leather chaps and studded accessories with a hefty dose of denim. In a recent Instagram post, Bella topped off her rodeo duds with a Wrangler denim shirt—and you can score her exact style for just $50. Featuring yoke stitching and snap pockets on lightweight denim, Bella's shirt has all the trappings of classic cowboy style. And since the Western trend isn't going anywhere, this shirt is an easy way to infuse your wardrobe with Americana flair. Not sure how to wear it? Bella showed off two ways. First, she treats it like outerwear, leaving it unbuttoned over a delicate white eyelet dress. With fall around the corner, this layered look will come in handy when you want to keep sporting sundresses on cooler days, giving an edge (and extra warmth) to romantic silhouettes. Second, she opted for a denim-on-denim look, buttoning up the shirt and tucking it into a pair of lighter-wash jeans. A brown leather belt with a decorative Western buckle ties the whole outfit together. This riff on a Canadian tuxedo is a breeze to recreate with pieces from your own closet, and feels right on trend for fall. Since pretty much everything that Bella wears has a tendency to sell out, I was pleasantly surprised to find her exact Wrangler shirt in stock in every size. Just in case, I've rounded up a few similar styles to add to your transitional arsenal, starting at $49.
