Las Cruces Police to kick off Lunchbox Lemonade series this week

EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) – The Las Cruces Police Department's (LCPD) Community Outreach Team, along with community partner Raising Cane's, will host the first Lunchbox Lemonade event of 2025 this week.
This series will kick off from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Thursday, June 5, at the Plaza de Las Cruces Splash Pad, 100 N. Main St., LCPD said.
LCPD said this series encourages residents of all ages to have lunch with the Community Outreach Team at an area splash pad.
Participants can visit with team members, discuss police matters, and share their concerns about public safety while their kids cool off in the splash pad, LCPD said.
Additionally, LCPD will provide free popsicles, and Raising Cane's will offer free lemonade to all attendees. However, attendees are encouraged to bring their own sack lunch.
LCPD said other Lunchbox Lemonade events will be held 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Thursdays:
June 12, Metro Verde Splash Pad, 7125 Metro Park St.
June 26, Unidad Park Splash Pad, 1501 E. Hadley Ave.
July 10, Plaza De Las Cruces Splash Pad, 100 N. Main St.
July 24, Metro Verde Splash Pad, 7125 Metro Park St.
Aug 7, Unidad Park Splash Pad, 1501 E. Hadley Ave.
Aug 21, Plaza De Las Cruces Splash Pad, 100 N. Main St.

The Southaven restaurant will be hosting its grand opening at 357 Goodman Road West. Raising Cane's Chicken coming to Southaven, MS The hours for the restaurant will be Sunday through Thursday from 10 a.m. to midnight, and Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 1 a.m. The restaurant chain announced its plans to open a location in Southaven, Mississippi, in May of 2024. Future Cane's restaurants will also be coming to the Wolfchase area and on Winchester Road near Hacks Cross Road. Raising Cane's has over 600 locations across the U.S., including two locations in Tennessee. Las Cruces Police: 14-year-old dead after alleged road rage shooting

EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) – A 14-year-old boy is dead after a shooting 'believed to have stemmed from a road rage incident' on Monday evening, June 2, in Las Cruces, the Las Cruces Police Department (LCPD) said in a news release. LCPD said that at 9 p.m. on Monday, officers were dispatched to reports of shots fired near the intersection of Solano Drive and Spruce Avenue. Officers arrived to find a 14-year-old boy suffering from at least one gunshot wound. The boy was pronounced dead at the scene, according to LCPD. The name of the victim is being withheld for now as police continue to gather more information and contact the family, LCPD said. LCPD said investigators believe the incident stemmed from a road rage confrontation, though the exact circumstances remain under investigation. No arrests have been made at this time. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact police at (575) 526-0795. Information can be shared anonymously through Crime Stoppers of Las Cruces-Dona Ana County at 1-800-222-8477.
