Driver pleads GUILTY to killing woman, 22, in 140mph horror crash on Christmas Day as he fled police in his Mercedes
Evan Forde, 32, was driving his Mercedes in Brent Cross, north London, when he crashed into another vehicle at high speed.

He then proceeded to flee from the police on foot in the early hours of the morning on December 25, 2022.
Brazilian Maria Carolina Do Nascimento was a passenger in the BMW that Forde crashed into.
The young woman tragically passed away at the scene.
The accident occurred on a 40mph stretch of road in Hendon Way at around 3.45am.
Despite the speed limit, Forde had been driving at speeds of more than 140mph.
This resulted in Nascimento's tragic death, despite the London Ambulance Service rushing to the scene and desperately trying to save the girl.
Shortly before the fatal crash, police officers on patrol in a marked vehicle had indicated for his car to stop.
However, the vehicle drove off from police and there was no pursuit, according to Scotland Yard.
Moments later, cops were informed that the same car had been involved in a collision.
The occupants of the Mercedes did not stop for the police as they proceeded to flee the scene on foot.

On Tuesday, Forde appeared at the Old Bailey where he pleaded guilty to causing Ms Nascimento's death by dangerous driving.
Members of the victim's family wept in court after he admitted the offence.
Defence barrister Tasmin Malcolm said Forde had "always accepted" he was driving the Mercedes.
She said: 'Undoubtedly the speed Mr Forde was driving will be an aggravating feature to the court.
'It is important we are satisfied of the accuracy of the material relied on by the Crown.'
Prosecutor Frederick Hookway observed that small variations of the speeds involved in the case were unlikely to have an impact given the defendant had reached 'top speeds of over 140mph'.
Judge Anthony Leonard KC adjourned sentencing until October 22 and granted Forde continued conditional bail.
He told him: "You have pleaded guilty to a very serious charge.
"There was perhaps no option other than to do so given the state of the evidence.
"However, the fact you pleaded at this stage will be taken into account at sentencing.
Previously the Metropolitan Police said it had made a referral to the Independent Office for Police Conduct as is routine in such circumstances.

Couple are jailed after victim was raped on camera - but only found out when blackmailer sent her footage and demanded £5,000
A couple has been jailed after a man raped an unconscious woman while his partner filmed it. Their victim only found out what had happened when one of the pair blackmailed her by sending her the footage and demanding £5,000. Indre Bruziene, 40, and her partner Vasile Radacanu, 33, invited the woman to their address in Sheerness, Kent on September 18, 2020. They downed alcoholic drinks together at the property, causing the victim to become intoxicated. Radacanu then raped her during which she was, at one point, unconscious. Bruziene filmed the incident throughout, first from through a window and later from inside the home. Radacanu clearly was aware he was being recorded as he made gestures towards the camera on several occasions. The victim then woke up in her own bed the next morning with no recollection of what had happened to her. In March 2021, she received a call from Bruziene accusing her of breaking up her family before sending her the clip of the rape. She asked the woman for £5,000 and claimed that if she did not pay her she would send the video to the victim's husband. The victim refused to pay the sum of money and told her family about the ordeal before calling the police. Radacanu, from Romania, and Bruziene, from Lithuania, were both arrested the next day. Their phones were seized by investigators and Radacanu was later charged with two rapes, attempted rape and two sexual assaults. Bruziene was charged with blackmail. The pair pleaded not guilty at Maidstone Crown Court but were convicted of these on January 28, 2025, following a trial. Radacanu was sentenced to 12 years and six months in prison on Thursday, and Bruziene was jailed for three years and three months. Detective Constable Hollie Brown said: 'The criminal actions of Radacanu and Bruziene were unspeakably vile as they took advantage of a vulnerable victim who was not aware of what was happening to her. 'As soon as the victim received the video of her abuse from Bruziene she showed great courage in disclosing her ordeal to her family and then contacting the police. 'Detectives then swiftly secured the offenders phones and they have now, quite rightly, been brought to justice.'

Drunk driver who killed scooter-riding boy, 12, in hit-and-run crash had boasted about being behind the wheel without a licence for 18 years, court hears
A drunk driver who killed a 12-year-old schoolboy boasted about driving without a licence for 18 years, the High Court has heard. Just days before Lucas Trainor was fatally knocked down by Peter Milligan, 51, it is claimed he was bragging in a bar that he had no licence after being disqualified in 2007. Lucas was struck by a Skoda Fabia while riding a scooter in Portaferry, Co Down, on July 8 this year. Milligan, of Ashmount Park in Portaferry, has admitted driving the car and told police he had been drinking in two pubs prior to the crash. He faces a total of 11 charges, including causing death by dangerous driving, failing to stop or remain at an accident, and driving without insurance or a licence. Opposing bail, prosecution counsel Sarah Minford claimed the defendant should have retaken his driving test following a previous ban in 2007, the Belfast Telegraph reports. She added that a witness states 'he was bragging in a bar on July 5 that he hadn't had a licence for 18 years yet he continued to drive throughout this time'. 'It seemed to be something he took great pleasure in and was proud of,' Ms Minford told the court. Lady Chief Justice Dame Siobhan Keegan refused his application for bail, ruling that he poses a high risk of re-offending. It was heard that Lucas was found at the scene and was taken to hospital where he died after sustaining traumatic head injuries Witnesses reported the car hitting the boy and then leaving the area before the Skoda Fabia was found fifteen minutes later. Police located the vehicle after receiving a second report that it had been abandoned after hitting the wall of a property four miles away. After identifying Milligan as the owner of the car, he was found by officers the following morning, around half a mile from where the vehicle was left. The 51-year-old refused to take a preliminary breath test before he was taken to hospital for treatment of a fractured foot, the court heard. Ms Minford said that CCTV shows Milligan downing pints of beer in a bar in the town on the night Lucas was killed. Footage also showed the Skoda travelling at speed through Portaferry, where another pedestrian was almost hit before the fatal collision. Ms Minford told the court that Milligan had admitted to causing the boy's death by his driving and to being under the influence of alcohol. 'He stated he had been drinking in two bars, one in Strangford and one in Portaferry,' Ms Minford said. Milligan claimed a friend gave him a lift home and was checked on his mother before he decided to get in his car to 'go for a spin', despite knowing he had no valid licence or MOT for his car. Milligan's barrister said he had gone out on a drive to clear his head due to the pressures of caring for his mother, who suffers from advanced dementia. After the fatal collision, he panicked and drove off without knowing what he had hit, according to his account. The court heard that as police read the charges to Milligan he told them: 'I am so sorry for the death of Lucas, please give my condolences to his poor mother and father, I will regret this until the day I die'.' Lady Chief Justice questioned how Milligan avoided sitting a test following his disqualification as she denied him bail. 'I do not understand how somebody remains undetected without a licence for 18 years. Does nobody chase that?,' she said. She cotinued: 'Given the seriousness of these offences, the applicant's track record and his own behaviour, I couldn't be confident he would comply with any conditions I would set.'
