The World's Most Beautiful Airports for 2025

Finding beauty in the airport may sound more like a philosophical experiment than a realistic travel experience, but the most innovative terminals of today are prioritizing architecture and aesthetics as integral elements of their design.
Every year, the Prix de Versailles architecture awards highlights the most beautiful new airport terminals around the world. Beyond just visual appearances, the prize also aims to recognize intelligent sustainability in airport design.
Modern airports 'must resolve formidable difficulties in terms of flow management and the aircraft themselves,' Jérôme Gouadain, secretary general of the Prix Versailles, said in a statement. 'This new brand of facilities can also be seen as works of art, or at least as things of beauty.'
The six airports that made the 2025 Prix de Versailles list harness design elements that evoke the serenity of nature while incorporating innovations to limit carbon output. In December, three of the airports will be selected to win the even more prestigious Prix de Versailles World Title.
Below are the six most architecturally stunning new airports of 2025, including two of the best airports in the US.

Yantai's seaside landscapes were the inspiration for the new terminal at the city's international airport. The building's large undulating roof was inspired by nearby Kunyu Mountain, and its interior curves and stone were designed to mimic the region's scenic coastline.

Hilton's Sustainability Chief: Clean Energy Push, Hotel Upgrades Behind Emissions Drop

When clean energy starts to make business sense – not just climate sense – that's where real traction begins. Hilton's experience shows that in markets where renewables are cost-neutral, owners buy in. Hilton says it's unfazed by recent rollbacks in U.S. clean energy tax breaks, despite cuts to government programs designed to make renewables cheaper and more accessible to businesses. Renewable energy is seen as a key solution in reducing the amount of fossil fuels used by hotels. Hilton says its strategy, built on partnerships with private utility companies, has insulated it from some of those risks. 'Utilities mostly work independently in the U.S. They're private entities,' Jean Garris Hand, Hilton's global head of sustainability, told Skift. 'Most of the renewable power that we are purchasing is through those utilities, so even if programs are being scaled back in some areas, our procurement still goes through.' The company says its demand signals help shape those markets. 'Where the rubber meets the road is where financial transactions are made,' Garris Hand said. 'By requesting renewable power in markets, we're sending the pull signals to utilities that we're interested in this.' In the U.S., Hilton's renewable power purchasing program, launched in 2021, saw 100% adoption among its owned hotels and prop

MakeMyTrip Raises $3.1 Billion to Shrink Trip.com Group's Stake

MakeMyTrip is decisively paring its long‑time investor's stake on the business. And as more buybacks could come before year‑end, Group's influence looks set to keep shrinking. MakeMyTrip on Tuesday said it raised around $3.1 billion as part of its plans to repurchase shares from China's Group, which at one point owned more than 45% of the company. MakeMyTrip said in a stock exchange filing last month that it was raising money to buy back shares, and after several repurchases during the quarter, stake is down to 16.9%. MakeMyTrip said it is open to doing more buybacks later this year. "We'll remain open to kind of dipping into further buyback even in the rest of year because we haven't really deployed directly from the balance sheet through the quarter," MakeMyTrip Chief Financial Officer Mohit Kabra said during an earnings call Tuesday. Following the announcement, Skift accessed the company's 6-K filing with the U.S. SEC, which also revealed a board overhaul. right to nominate directors on MakeM
