It's an eagerly awaited Christopher Nolan film which stars Damon as Odysseus, the king of Ithaca, as he journeys home following the Trojan War.
Other big names in the film include Tom Holland, Zendaya, Charlize Theron and Robert Pattinson.
The Hollywood superstar has been spotted out and about at local shops and heading to the gym.
On Thursday night, the actor joined cast members for a meal at The Seafield Arms in Cullen.
And he told staff that it was the best dining experience they'd had during their travels around the globe, The Press and Journal reports.
Managing Director Charles Milne said in a post on social media: "It was Thursday evening, and as I walked through the dining room of The Beverly Hills Hotel, I recognised a famous face at every table.
"One A-lister leaned in and said: 'The food here is the best we've had on our journey around the world - and the young staff are remarkable. We wish we could stay longer.'
"Then I blinked... and realised I was still in Cullen.
"The compliments weren't for Beverly Hills - they were for the outstanding staff, chefs and managers of The Seafield Arms Hotel."
He then thanked director Christopher Nolan for bringing his crew to Banffshire.
Scots streets transformed for huge blockbuster as A-listers JJ Abrams and Glen Powell spotted
The Seafield Arms is described as a "hidden gem" in the heart of the village of Cullen.
It offers guests a "luxurious and relaxing experience" during stays and dining.
Last week, locals in a tiny Scots town were stunned when Matt Damon turned up at their local Motion Fitness gym.
Regulars did a double take as the Hollywood superstar wandered in sporting a beard.
Within seconds he was mobbed in the fishing port - with everyone wanted a snap taken with the acting legend.
And many were shocked to discover he was holding a Buckie Thistle shirt as well.
Huge greek ships have been spotted in Buckie Harbour - with historic Findlater Castle closed to the public while shooting is underway.

VANTASTIC I'm a single mum-of-4 & found a 5-night caravan holiday for £22 – we had 'private beach' access & saw seals for free Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) TAKING your family away on holiday can be expensive - but one savvy single mum shared how she did it for just £22 per person. Charlene Woracker, who has four children, revealed how she found a dream caravan holiday in St Ives for the bargain price. She booked a Haven trip during half term which set her back £111, and despite the six-hour drive, it was 'absolutely worth it' when they arrived. Upon arrival, they set off to eat the famous Cornish pasties and explored the gorgeous local town. She shared how her kids had loved exploring a beautiful little church as part of their free sightseeing day. Charlene then took her kids to the beach which was 'completely empty' and felt like they were abroad. The mum added: 'It was just us there on our own most of the time. It was like having a private beach.' She pointed out this was ideal for her family as her kids 'struggle with crowds.' Then it was time to see some very furry local residents - a population of seals. Charlene shared: 'The kids really wanted to see the seals, a local told us how we could see them for free in their natural habitat. 'It was only a 15 minute walk up the cliffs and was such an amazing moment when we got to the top.' Hidden gem Scots caravan park with luxury hot tubs that's just five steps from the beach The mum then took her brood to visit Land's End, and said that although there was a mini amusement park there, they loved all the free activities nearby. The only thing she paid for was the Tate Modern, but loved seeing the local St Ives art. Charlene said she loved her bargain trip, and concluded: 'This trip made me appreciate how beautiful the uk is. Cornwall is definitely a hidden gem. 'The van was £111, food shop was £80 and extra expenses £60 so in total for all of us it was £250 going on holiday doesn't have to cost a fortune.' 5 She said she felt like she was abroad thanks to the gorgeous 'secluded' beaches Credit: TikTok/@mummybudgets 5 She also took her kids to see seals for free Credit: Getty 5 She said seeing the local seal population was 'amazing' for her family Credit: Getty CHARLENE'S MONEY TIP Many people were hugely impressed with her purse-friendly family trip, with her video racking up over 1,000 likes. One said: 'The price you paid is such a steal, I need to do my homework more when booking our caravan holidays.' Charlene advised: 'I find it cheaper to book closer to the date you're going away. "I always check prices they are always changing so just look out.' Another added: 'This sounds like a dream! What a lovely few days away!'

Gaga calmly adjusted the crew member's equipment and continued walking - only to trip herself moments later. She managed to catch her footing and carried on singing, but stumbled again just before the word 'fly' and fell sideways near the edge of the stage. The moment, caught on fan cameras, showed the singer landing close to the front row, where audience members were watching from just feet away. One shared the clip to TikTok, writing: "MY POOR MOTHER MONSTER FALLING DURING VANISH INTO YOU [crying emoji] AND THE CAMERAMAN JUST BEFORE." Despite the tumble, Gaga was helped up and immediately resumed the song without missing a beat. The incident took place during the first week of Gaga's global tour, which launched on 16 July and will continue through to January with a final run of shows in Japan. It follows a series of stage mishaps involving other major stars. Beyoncé was recently left suspended mid-air during a Texas show when a red car she was performing in got stuck. During her performance of 16 Carriages, the superstar hopped into a red car which was then lifted high into the air using cables. Katy Perry desperately clings on as prop malfunctions mid-air during gig leaving audience terrified She pulled on a silver cowboy hat and waved an American flag for her in-air adventures, yet was forced to halt the song as the vehicle leaned dangerously to one side. The crowd paused when she stopped singing and signaled for help, before erupting into cheers as the vehicle was lowered to solid ground. Like a pro, Beyonce continued the song then told her adoring fans: "I wanna thank y'all, for loving me. "If ever I fall, I know y'all will catch me." Katy Perry, meanwhile, nearly fell from a giant sphere on her Lifetimes tour in Australia and later appeared to slip on a butterfly-shaped prop during Roar. She had climbed into the huge metal structure when it began tilting dramatically at a strange angle. An army of quick-thinking backstage crew members raced onto the set in Australia to steady the massive prop so Katy - who was clinging on to the sides - could climb down safely. With the backing music stopped, the crowd could be heard applauding the star and shouting "go, Katy!" as she made her way out and onto the floor. 5 The incident took place during the first week of Gaga's Mayhem Ball tour Credit: Getty 5 Beyoncé was recently left suspended mid-air during a Texas show Credit: X/boyoncegarden
