Notre Dame wide receiver target Brian Williams Jr. getting rave reviews from trainer Highly touted wide receiver Brian Williams Jr. is impressing a lot of schools, including Notre Dame, this offseason.
Class of 2026 wide receiver Brian Williams Jr. has been turning heads since the beginning of the year, and it's no surprise to his trainer Kevin Wheeler.
The Notre Dame target has been working out with the founder of HD Performance, and the Florida native's drive and determination have stood out.
"He loves the position, he loves learning, he loves football and he's getting better," Wheeler said. "I've seen his consistency and his discipline and commitment to continue to work on his craft and get better as far as route-running, releases, learning coverages, and just learning all the nuances of playing the position. So that's what separates him from a lot of guys."
The 6-foot-4, 185-pound Lake Mary High School (Lake Mary, FL) three-star product (No. 756 overall in the 247Sports Composite) shined in February's Under Armour Regional in Orlando, and then a ton of offers from major programs such as Notre Dame, Florida, Florida State, Alabama and Auburn followed.
Williams Jr. has already taken an official visit to Penn State and was at Florida this weekend. He will visit Alabama next weekend and Kentucky after that before an official visit to Notre Dame on June 20 with hopes that he will be joining his current teammate and Irish quarterback commit Noah Grubbs sometime soon.
"He continues to grow and grow and grow," Wheeler said. "Like I said, his ceiling is just untapped. He could be very, very special. He's a special guy. He could be very, very good."

2 Indianapolis Colts' ranked among best college football players of the 2000s
2 Indianapolis Colts' ranked among best college football players of the 2000s One current and one former member of the Indianapolis Colts were named among the top 25 college football players of the 2000s by The Athletic. One current and one former member of the Indianapolis Colts were named among the top 25 college football players of the 2000s, a list that was put together by The Athletic's Bruce Feldman. In order to construct this list, Feldman reached out to "three dozen" coaches, TV analysts, and NFL scouts, asking who was the best collegiate player over the last 25 years. Coming in at No. 25 on that list for the Colts was current left guard Quenton Nelson, who played his college career at Notre Dame. Nelson was named an All-American during his final season, and over his three years as a starter, he was consistently one of PFF's highest graded guards as both a run blocker and as a pass protector during that span. In 2017, Notre Dame's 6.3 yards per rush average as a team was the third-highest mark in all of college football, and as Feldman noted, the Irish accomplished that without having a "star running back." The Colts made Nelson the sixth overall pick in the 2018 NFL draft, and since then, he has provided stability to the Indianapolis offensive line unit, which includes making seven Pro Bowls, along with being a three-time All-Pro. The second Colts player to make an appearance on Feldman's list was quarterback Andrew Luck, who played at Stanford and was No. 12 on the list. Over Luck's final two seasons, he completed an impressive 71% of his passes, throwing for 6,855 yards with 69 touchdowns to just 18 interceptions. He was a runner-up for the Heisman Trophy twice, a winner of the Maxwell Award, and a winner of the Walter Camp award as well. 'The only time I can remember during my scouting career where they told me, 'This guy teaches the install on the first day of camp.' They just let him get up there and teach it,' said NFL Network analyst Daniel Jeremiah, a former NFL scout. 'They give him multiple huddle calls and let him run the game at the line of scrimmage. He just had more intellectual power than anybody I've ever scouted.' The Colts took Luck with the first overall pick in the 2012 NFL draft. He was a four-time Pro Bowler and the NFL's Comeback Player of the Year in 2018. Luck would also lead the Colts to the playoffs in four seasons, including an AFC Championship appearance in 2014.

Georgia football makes major move for nation's No. 1 recruit
The Georgia Bulldogs have offered a scholarship to elite quarterback recruit Elijah Haven. Haven attended a camp at UGA and impressed the Georgia coaching staff. Haven, a rising junior, is a member of the class of 2027. Haven is the top-ranked recruit in the class of 2027, according to 247Sports. In the 247Sports Composite, he is ranked as a five-star recruit and the top quarterback in the country. The 6-foot-5, 215-pound quarterback plays high school football for the Dunham School in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Haven plays football right in the LSU Tigers' backyard, so it may be tough to lure the talented quarterback away from the Tigers. Ryan Puglisi of the Georgia Bulldogs drops back to pass during the spring G Day game "After a great camp and conversation with Coach Bobo, I am proud to say I have been offered a scholarship by the University of Georgia!" Haven said via social media. Advertisement Another interesting factor for Georgia in the class of 2027 is that the Dawgs already have a commitment from five-star quarterback Jared Curtis. However, we'll wait until December to see if Georgia signs Curtis. Haven is a good athlete and also plays high school basketball. This year, he has received scholarship offers from Jackson State, Duke, Florida State and Houston. The talented passer was named as the 2024 MaxPreps National Sophomore of the Year. As a sophomore, he completed over 60% of his passes and threw for 37 touchdowns and seven interceptions. Haven is mobile. He ran for 925 rushing yards and 19 touchdowns during this spectacular 2024 season as well. Haven helped Dunham School advance all the way to the state championship as a sophomore.
