Georgia football makes major move for nation's No. 1 recruit
Haven is the top-ranked recruit in the class of 2027, according to 247Sports. In the 247Sports Composite, he is ranked as a five-star recruit and the top quarterback in the country. The 6-foot-5, 215-pound quarterback plays high school football for the Dunham School in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Haven plays football right in the LSU Tigers' backyard, so it may be tough to lure the talented quarterback away from the Tigers.

"After a great camp and conversation with Coach Bobo, I am proud to say I have been offered a scholarship by the University of Georgia!" Haven said via social media.

Another interesting factor for Georgia in the class of 2027 is that the Dawgs already have a commitment from five-star quarterback Jared Curtis. However, we'll wait until December to see if Georgia signs Curtis.
Haven is a good athlete and also plays high school basketball. This year, he has received scholarship offers from Jackson State, Duke, Florida State and Houston.
The talented passer was named as the 2024 MaxPreps National Sophomore of the Year. As a sophomore, he completed over 60% of his passes and threw for 37 touchdowns and seven interceptions. Haven is mobile. He ran for 925 rushing yards and 19 touchdowns during this spectacular 2024 season as well. Haven helped Dunham School advance all the way to the state championship as a sophomore.

Notre Dame finds its 2027 quarterback, as 4-star Georgia prospect Teddy Jarrard commits
It is hard to find a hotter team recruiting than Notre Dame football at the moment, and on Thursday the good times kept rolling at 2027 Georgia quarterback Teddy Jarrard committed. The Irish beat out Georgia, Ohio State, Michigan and Penn State for the 6-foot, 3-inch and 190-pounder, adding the No. 195 overall prospect in the 247Sports Composite Rankings to its class. The Irish have made significant changes to the way they recruit since Marcus Freeman was elevated to head coach, and one of the biggest differences we have seen is the recruiting at the quarterback position. Jarrard is the latest to join the fold, as in the last few years we have seen CJ Carr, Kenny Minchey, Blake Hebert and soon to sign Noah Grubbs getting added to Notre Dame's roster. Over the next two years, the newest Irish quarterback commit will see an uptick in his high school competition after transferring to North Cobb in Kennesaw, a much tougher division. As a prospect, Jarrard has everything you are looking for, size, speed, arm strength and anticipation. He won the Rivals 5-star quarterback challenge last month, and could see a big jump in his ranking as he gets closer to his signing date. This was a massive recruiting win for Notre Dame and we are certainly excited to see Jarrard wearing the Blue and Gold in the future. Georgia schedules another cupcake 2026 nonconference opponent
The Georgia Bulldogs are scheduled to play the Tennessee State Tigers in 2026, per Mike Organ of the Tennesseean. In 2026, Georgia is already scheduled to play the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers (home) on Sept. 12, the Louisville Cardinals (away) on Sept. 19 and the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets on Nov. 28 (home). Georgia will also play their permanent SEC opponent, the Florida Gators. Based on Georgia's decision to schedule Tennessee State, we expect the SEC to play just eight conference games in 2026. The SEC has long discussed adding a ninth conference game like the Big Ten. However, it does not appear that will be the case in 2026. The SEC has not released the conference schedule for the 2026 season. Based on Georgia's other nonconference games, we would expect for the Bulldogs to host Tennessee State on Sept. 5 in Week 1. Georgia is paying to play Tennessee State in a one game series, but we don't know how much at this time. Georgia will be the first of three SEC opponents that Tennessee State will play from 2026-2029. The Tigers and head coach Reggie Barlow are also set to play Tennessee in 2027 and Vanderbilt in 2029. "You're talking about SEC games, you're talking about great tradition programs like Georgia, like Tennessee and, of course, like Vanderbilt who's coming along and doing some wonderful things," Barlow said after scheduling three future games against SEC opponents. "Just being able to go and play in those stadiums and get that experience for our young men here and our coaches is going to be exciting. Obviously, we know that it's a huge task and a huge challenge, but I just look forward to being in that atmosphere and that environment." While Tennessee State is not the most exciting opponent for Georgia, pay to play games are important for smaller programs. Tennessee State's last game against an FBS opponent came in 2023 when the Tigers lost to Notre Dame 56-3. Follow UGAWire on Instagram or Threads!

Falcons put Troy Andersen on PUP list
The Falcons will open training camp without linebacker Troy Andersen on the field. Andersen was placed on the physically unable to perform list on Thursday. Andersen, who can be activated at any point this summer, was limited to seven games last season by a knee injury and he also missed 15 games in 2023 with a pectoral injury. Divine Deablo and Kaden Elliss are the other top linebackers on the depth chart for the Falcons. There was better injury news for the Falcons as well. Tight end Kyle Pitts is set to practice after missing time in the spring with a foot injury.
