Inside Look: Jenni Kayne's Farmhouse In Upstate New York

Forbes30-04-2025
Those with an appreciation for California-based fashion designer Jenni Kayne's eponymous clothing, design and lifestyle brand can now get a deeper glimpse into its laid-back vibe. After a year of invite-only stays, the brand's Farmhouse is now available for public booking on Airbnb starting in May.
Nestled on a cozy plot of land in Tivoli, New York, the Farmhouse is a beautiful four-bedroom, three-bathroom gem featuring a chef's kitchen, a pool and an on-site spa, the Oak Wellness Club. The aesthetic embodies Jenni's signature style, featuring items from the designer's own line of furniture, mixed with more than 70 vintage and antique pieces—some dating back to the 17th and 18th centuries.
'There's something so lovely about spring and early summer in the Hudson Valley,' Kayne says. 'It's not too hot yet, the landscape is bright and ever-changing, and everyone seems to be coming alive after winter. I also love the fall upstate. You get to see all of the changing leaves, which isn't something we get here in L.A.'
Here's everything you need to know before checking in.

Start your day with a farmhouse-inspired breakfast, then grab a spot by the pool, where you can lounge all day while listening to the sounds of nature. Wellness abounds at this property, from the on-site sauna, to the cold plunge and hot tub, to the Oak Wellness Club, a beautiful greenhouse that offers massages and facials featuring Kayne's Oak Essentials line of natural, nontoxic skincare, body care, bath products and spa-inspired fragrances.

The Farmhouse features four serene bedrooms decked out in rich hues, plus three spa-like bathrooms stocked with Oak Essentials products, making it a perfect escape for a girls' trip or a romantic weekend getaway with a significant other. 'I've always had a natural instinct and interest in creating whole environments that reflect a certain feeling: grounded, beautiful, effortless,' Kayne says. 'And I've always loved sharing these environments with friends and family. So extending into interiors as the next lifestyle touchpoint was just a natural extension of both my creative inspiration and the brand as a whole.'
Tivoli is worth a visit any time of the year—I've visited in both the middle of summer and late fall. But one of the most lively and memorable times to visit is in summer, when the weather is ideal and guests can enjoy all the outdoor amenities the property has to offer. Those looking for adventure in the area can also book hiking or wine tasting trips. For a more leisurely experience nearby, the boutiques in downtown Hudson are definitely worth a visit. 'Stissing House is my absolute favorite,' Kaye says. 'Every meal there is incredible and the ambience is just perfect.'
Jenni Kayne's Farmhouse is located 100 miles from New York City, about a two-hour drive. It's also accessible by train, a ride of about two hours and 40 minutes (Amtrak to Hudson, followed by a 20-minute Uber ride). The closest airport is Albany International Airport, about a one-hour drive.

Taylor Swift's Red Garnet Ring Is on Sale at Mejuri

Every item on this page was chosen by an ELLE editor. We may earn commission on some of the items you choose to buy. It's not often that a jewelry brand is editor-approved, celebrity-worn, and reasonably affordable, but Toronto-based label Mejuri checks all those boxes. From budget-friendly everyday staples to investment-worthy fine jewelry, the minimalist brand truly offers something for every occasion and budget—which is precisely why I've been wearing (and gifting) Mejuri jewelry for over five years now. Learning that A-listers like Taylor Swift, Meghan Markle, Selena Gomez, and Sydney Sweeney are fellow fans only further cemented Mejuri as one of the best jewelry brands in my rotation. 'As a self-proclaimed jewelry fanatic, I've found Mejuri to be a great place to start your jewelry collection,' says Dale Arden Chong, ELLE senior fashion commerce editor. 'The pieces feel modern yet timeless, ranging from dainty to chunky. And when you're ready, you can start investing in the brand's beautiful fine pieces.' Chong says she's been wearing the same Mejuri initial necklace for years and that it still earns her regular compliments. I can say the same for my beloved Mejuri pearl hoops, which Oprah just so happens to wear, too. The best part? The brand is currently in the midst of its Summer Sale, which runs until August 17—and the entire site is up to 25 percent off when you spend $150, including celeb-approved options. From Olivia Rodrigo's classic red carpet hoops to Taylor Swift's Travis Kelce-coded ring, I tracked down the exact Mejuri pieces worn by celebrities so you, too, can feel like a VIP. Mejuri's Garnet Heirloom Ring makes the ultimate gift for a Swiftie (even if said Swiftie is yourself). Taylor Swift was seen wearing it to celebrate the Chief's AFC Championship win with her boyfriend Travis Kelce. Crafted from solid 14k gold and a genuine garnet stone, the timeless design is an instant keepsake. Sydney Sweeney wore Mejuri's bestselling Dôme Hoops during a press event for the film Anyone But You– and it's certainly not the only time she's been seen wearing the $88 gold hoops. Handcrafted in 18k gold vermeil or sterling silver, they'll instantly liven up your look yet are lightweight enough for long periods of wear. The magic of Mejuri's affordable pieces is that they can easily be paired with higher-end styles. Case in point: Markle wore the brand's under-$100 chunky huggies and Charlotte Bold Ring with a gold Cartier Love bracelet to Variety's Power of Women Awards last year. 'I love how they are simple enough to go with everything but edgy enough to make a statement,' writes one reviewer. 'They close with a good click that feels very secure, and they don't weigh my ears down.' Mejuri practically wrote the book on quiet luxury jewelry. Its reasonably-priced, solid gold hoops are versatile enough to suit laidback, everyday outfits or red carpet ensembles à la Olivia Rodrigo. The same can be said for the brand's solid gold studs and growing selection of both natural and lab-grown diamond earrings. At a Paris Fashion Week event last year, supermodel Gigi Hadid complemented her lacy Miu Miu dress with Mejuri's Bold Pearl Drop Earrings. As one reviewer aptly describes them: 'They're not too old-fashioned-y but still very classic.' When it comes to fine jewelry, timeless pieces are the brand's specialty. Take, for instance, Quinta Brunson's Diamond Riviere Bracelet, which features 176 natural diamonds bezel-set in solid 14k gold. The Abbott Elementary star also wore the brand's Patra Pavé Diamond Ring, Patra Chunky Ring, and Bold Pearl Drop Earrings to the same event. Mejuri confirmed on Instagram that Scarlett Johansson wore its sleek mixed metal Stevie Hoops during a recent Tonight Show appearance. The adaptable style can be worn with or without the secondary hoop, so you're essentially scoring two pairs of earrings in one. Even Oprah can't resist the charm of Mejuri's affordable hoop earrings. In a photo posted to her Instagram, she wears the brand's sophisticated Organic Pearl Hoops—a style I'm also known to frequent. Minimalist but far from boring, each slim 18k gold vermeil hoop features a handpicked freshwater pearl. The curved, classic designs of Mejuri's Dôme collection are favorites of celebrity stylists and fashion editors alike. From Anna Sophia Robb's Mega Dôme Earrings to a stackable diamond pavé ring, these wearable works of art make top-tier jewelry gifts. Spirit Airlines could soon go out of business — months after declaring bankruptcy

Spirit Airlines is warning that it may not survive the next year unless it can quickly raise more cash — just five months after emerging from bankruptcy protection. The budget airline said in a report Monday that fewer people are booking leisure trips within the US and tough competition from other carriers is making it hard to hit the money targets it promised after bankruptcy. The company cautioned that failure to secure additional funds could trigger loan defaults and force it to sell assets, including planes, airport gates and real estate. Advertisement 4 Spirit Airlines may cease doing business within the year unless it gets a significant cash infusion, the company said. Getty Images The airline's management said it faces 'substantial doubt' about its ability to keep operating beyond the next 12 months without fresh capital, citing uncertainty over the success of cost-cutting efforts and ongoing talks with stakeholders. Spirit also disclosed it may have to provide more collateral to its credit card processing partner to keep that relationship in place. Spirit's warning marks the latest setback in a turbulent period for the Florida-based airline, known for its bright yellow planes and low-cost fares. Advertisement It filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in November, becoming the first major US carrier to do so since 2011. The filing followed years of mounting losses, a failed takeover bid by JetBlue Airways, shifting passenger preferences toward more premium services and a large-scale engine recall that left many of its jets grounded. COVID-19's lingering effects, supply chain disruptions and heavy debt loads added to the strain. Advertisement 4 The budget airline said in a report Monday that fewer people are booking leisure trips within the US. REUTERS After rejecting a merger offer from Frontier Airlines in February, Spirit completed its Chapter 11 restructuring in March. The plan wiped out roughly $795 million in debt, brought in $350 million in new equity and set up a $275 million credit line. Then-CEO Ted Christie remained in place to lead a new strategy aimed at appealing to higher-spending travelers, revamping the frequent flyer program and boosting partnerships to increase revenue per passenger. Advertisement But the recovery has been rocky. Christie, who was due to receive a $3.8 million retention bonus, stepped down as CEO in late April. He was replaced by Dave Davis, former president and chief financial officer of Sun Country Airlines. Christie left the airline having received more than $4 million in bonuses as part of his 2024 compensation — plus a $1.5 million separation payment after leaving the company. In June, Spirit reported a $143 million net loss for the first quarter of 2025, along with a warning that it still faced 'going concern' risks. 4 The filing followed years of mounting losses, a failed takeover bid by JetBlue Airways and shifting passenger preferences toward more premium services. REUTERS By late July, the airline announced plans to furlough 270 pilots and reassign 140 others in a bid to conserve cash, even as it promoted new routes to Key West and the Cayman Islands starting later this year. The company hoped that adding destinations could help drive bookings, but industry headwinds continued to mount. In its latest earnings report, Spirit posted a second-quarter net loss of $245.8 million, widening from $192.9 million in the same period last year. Advertisement 4 After rejecting a merger offer from Frontier Airlines in February, Spirit completed its Chapter 11 restructuring in March. REUTERS The company said elevated capacity in the domestic market — meaning more seats for sale than demand could absorb — has kept ticket prices under pressure. Higher operating costs, combined with tariffs imposed earlier this year, have further eroded margins. These challenges have hit low-cost carriers like Spirit especially hard because they rely heavily on price-sensitive leisure travelers. The airline's troubles also reflect broader difficulties in the aviation industry. While some competitors have been able to offset weaker domestic demand with strong international traffic, Spirit's business is still centered on short-haul leisure routes, leaving it more exposed when vacation travel slows. Advertisement Management said that without significant improvement in its finances or a major infusion of cash, it may not be able to comply with the minimum liquidity requirements in its credit agreements. Spirit's latest moves to shore up its finances include exploring the sale of non-core assets such as surplus planes, airport gates and slots. However, the company acknowledged in its filing that there is no guarantee these efforts will succeed or be completed quickly enough to prevent further strain.
