Powerball player just misses $410 million jackpot — but still wins big in Texas
A Powerball player in Texas won $100,000, just missing the $410 million jackpot, lottery officials say. The ticket matched four winning numbers, the Powerball and the Power Play multiplier in the drawing Saturday, Aug. 2, the Texas Lottery said. Two other Texas players won $50,000 each in the drawing. The winning numbers were 6, 18, 34, 35 and 36 with a Powerball of 2. The Power Play multiplier was 2x. Powerball jackpot rises Nobody won the grand prize, which rises to an estimated $426 million, with a cash value of about $193.5 million, for the next drawing Monday, Aug. 4, the national Powerball site said. More than 745,000 other Powerball tickets sold in the United States also won prizes ranging from $4 to $50,000, the lottery said. A player in Georgia won $1 million. The Powerball jackpot was last won May 31, when a California player hit the $204.5 million grand prize.
